PMDG 737 NGX: The View Forward

Featured Replies

PMDG is by far and away the best and most honest add-on producer that there is. I've been a customer ever since they started making add-ons. Therefore, may I make a heartfelt, even desperate request for the 737NGX (I should have requested this earlier)? Please give us the TO/GA button in the right place instead of that screw on the panel; at least in the VC.Thanks you guys. You really are the best.PS: Some time ago I read a post from someone requesting the 737 in various Australian airline liveries. Us long-time customers know you guys always give us those and we really appreciate it.Hipshot

The PMDG video about DASH-8 says mid 2010 for NGX - are we getting close? This release is the most exciting release for FSX for a long time. ;-)

Already on my personal list of items for us... ;) I think we should have it in both places plus assignable by keypress/hardware.

That's great news! Always thought even though it might have been a good solution in a way it spoiled a great deal of the realism having to push a screw ;-)

Ryan, any chance you or someone else at PMDG could comment on the 'Mid 2010' statement in the video linked above?

A lot of real life pilots do not know how the level of realism has gone up within the FSX environment. One day a real life 767 pilot was sitting next to me just to observe what I am so excited about the sim. At that time I had Level-D 767, real weather, add on Amsterdam etc. loaded up. The flight was during the rush hour in IVAO and the Schipol controlers were doing their job excellent. At the end of the flight the 767 pilot had his jaw dropped.... he said .."Oh God, who are the crazy people doing all this stuff?...."Later on the same guy was doing his transfer to A330-A340. He got a high end rig+add on Airbus and all whistles &bells and he did part of his training at home...I am sure that there a lots of other pilots using the sim with PMDG add ons to do the same.P.S> Oh, and by the way the same applies to real life ATC who use IVAO or VATSIM to keep up with the work...
That is correct...As well at our Flightsim days at Aviodrome i spoke to a lot of real live pilots who where very interested!best regardsRay

Anything we ever say regarding dates is an estimate, not a guarantee. That was made clear in the thread where we posted that video actually. That was our internal "target" time frame at the time and I'm sure you can surmise that it has probably changed a bit since. This happens with everything we've ever released, it's nothing new - development is volatile and very hard to actually predict when something will be finished. We're going as fast as we can on this - believe me, we want it released more than you guys do!

Take your time, please. I'd rather wait longer and have a bugfree release.Although it would be awesome if the NGX were available in time for Christmas. How much of a delay can we expect for the boxed version (Aerosoft) btw?

I tend to agree with you on that one :(Thanks Ryan, I realize it's hard to predict with lots of parameters beeing part of the project. Reason I asked (and was kind of hoping maybe you could say if it's still closer to mid 2010 than end 2010) is that I've been waiting for this bird to use it during my IVAO IFR World Tour 2010 but might be a bit tricky to complete that one in time should we have to wait for the a/c until say Nov-Dec :(Well...won't waste any more of your precious time but instead let you carry on with the eagerly awaited NGX!!

i'd rather wait longer to get a product that is really finished and perfect than having a high price addon wich is full of bugs, lacking of systemdepths, or even unfinished, wich is not uncommon nowadays for some products. But i guess that has been said pretty often in this thread - but i can't hardly remember every post done in here (because there are just... some). I personally started to stock up on "local" airport sceneries in range for my 737. More to follow next month and the next, so i can really use the 737 on every routes i'm so looking forward to fly in an appropriate plane to european destinations. Keep up the work guys and enjoy the summer! does this thread reach 500.000 views before release? ;) br, alex

Best regards,

Beeing a PMDG customer since many years I don't think we need to worry they would release an unfinished product. What you said about getting good local sceneries for the destinations you plan to visit with the 737 is a great idea, I might follow your example!

oh i doubt that!!! :)
I dunno, I bet they're pretty darn excited about pay-day :)
