April 19, 201016 yr HelloMy vote goes to the Eaglesoft CX v2I have been flying this one in FS9 and tonight I went ahead and purchased it again for FSXNo frame rate hit at all in FSX, 30 fps locked over seattle and totally smooth. This is with an E8600@4ghz with a GTX260/216 not by any stretch a state of the art PC
April 19, 201016 yr I picked up the Kodiak a few weeks ago on the fllghtsimdealoftheday for 12 bucks. It's a good plane, not great imo. It does a few quirky things which I think of as it's personality, but made me rethink getting the Victory.Have you got the "Banana Bob repaint package"? Attached my favorite :( Bert

April 19, 201016 yr My vote goes to the Eaglesoft CX v2+1I also have the Mustang and it is a fine piece of work, but ESDG's CX v2 has easily become my number one favorite (except when I want to fly something bigger and even more complex, then my PMDG MD-11 is second to none).Eaglesoft's CX has detailed and accurate systems modeling, flies like a dream by hand or in a variety of AP modes and just plain looks great.I am always traveling and so do everything on a notebook but still get good frames with FSX settings Med-High to High @ 1920x1200:HP EliteBook 1730Intel Core2 Duo T9600 @ 2.80GHz3Gb RAMNVIDIA Quadro FX 2700MHope this helps - enjoy!
April 19, 201016 yr I really like the Mustang, but it's just too much for my system. Unfortunately I let the refund policy expire quite some time ago, but I haven't flown it in month's because it just doesn't perform well enough for me. It's a shame. - Aaron
April 19, 201016 yr The Mustang is beautiful but sadly one of THE heaviest aircraft on frame rates that I've come across. That reduces my use of it a lot because I need smoothness in my flying. For me (others disagree), I just don't get that quality feel in the flight dynamics or textures from the Lionheart planes. The power modelling is miles off and the planes just feel too light and twitchy for me. Also the VCs have an excessive shininess or cartoonishness to me eyes. Just can't get away with them. The FSD Vision is a good little VLJ jet - easy on frames, good VC and quite nice to fly. It's weakness is oversimplified systems coverage, and the G1000 is the default FSX one (or close anough to it).Ultimately, I still think there's a gap in the market for a super quality (but not necessarily super performance-demanding) VLJ. But I don't regret buying the F1 Mustang one bit - I just wish they'd offer a config tool for people to 'tune' it according to their PC's abilities.Davido.
April 19, 201016 yr I just revisited the mustang forums (too bad they're "hidden" for non registered users, I hate that policy) and found a couple of very useful posts there. First there's the "safe flight" that you have to load before the mustang. Annoying and shouldn't be needed, but for some reason the coding behind this plane needs it. Then there's the OOM problems I've been having - they seem to have been resolved with this link: http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=29041See the part about "address space"That seems to have worked wonders for my Mustang, even on my aging rig.
April 19, 201016 yr I own both the Mustang and the CX v2. Both offer very complete and excellent simulation. Mustang's look inside and out is more "next generation". But at the same time it is very hard on performance on my PC ([email protected], 4GB & 275GTX). I only fly the CX in FS9 so I can't compare but I've not heard anyone saying it's a FPS eater in FSX. It really comes down to which plane you'd prefer in real life. Although both are bizjets they are very different birds and built for very different missions. JasonFAA CPL SEL MEL IR CFI-I MEI AGI
April 19, 201016 yr Commercial Member The Epic victory is a really sweet bird! The G1000 works great and is all I need for realism / functionality. If I felt more hardcore I would go for the ESDG Cittation X except that I'm more into cruisng low especially with PNW. I would probably own an Epic Victory in RL! Oh and it is pretty fast.http://www.lionheartcreations.com/Lionhear...imulations.htmljja Jim Allen[email protected]SkyPilot Software home of FSXAssist / P3DAssist
April 20, 201016 yr Author It really comes down to which plane you'd prefer in real life. There is no doubt that the Mustang would be the plane I'd like to own. It's gorgeous! That said, I think I'm going to hold off on it for now. The concensus is that it really is a frame rate killer which is something I try and stay away from. Too bad. Comments like "I have the Mustang but am looking for something better performing" and "I bought it but never fly it cause it's too taxing on the system and let the refund policy expire" are as telling as anything I've read. After I get an overclock going on my system, I'll revisit the Mustang.Additionally, virtually everyone that owns the CX 2.0 loves it, and says great things about performance and systems. The Avsim review is also stellar. So, I'll give this some thought. It 'may' be a bit complex for me currently, but I could certainly grow into it I suppose. As far as the Eaglesoft corporate jets, I think I like the CJ1 better. I just read over the weekend somewhere, can't find it now, that someone mentioned that Eaglesoft was becoming the king of biz jets or something like that, and that one of the Eaglesoft devs responded by saying something like 'just wait, we have other things coming up that are really going to make us the king of biz jets. Maybe a rework of the CJ1?Anyways, thanks for all the comments. They were all very helpful.

You know, I agree with regard to the Kodiak. The power modeling is off imo. There is too much of a delay in how the engine spools up/down. Just not polished like the other planes I love to fly. One reason I was so interested in the Mustang.
April 20, 201016 yr I have the Cessna Citation Mustang and I just love it.The G1000 implementation and it's graphic presentation comes closer to the real thing than any other I have seen. It is a complex plane, as is the real thing, but it really gives you a feel for how the G1000 works in the "real world." Because of this added realism, your framerates will be reduced just like they are for my favorite plane, the PMDG 747-400. But the frame rates are acceptable on my system. It is also one of the nicest flying planes I have in my inventory, as almost everything I fly now is a payware plane. I have also created a TouchBuddy profile that significantly helps me use the G1000 controls. I'm in the process of starting to make it available on the TouchBuddy website......I'll let you know when it becomes available. You won't be disappointed if you buy the Cessna MustangBill Clark Windows 10 Pro, Ver 21H2 CPU I5-8600K 5.0GHz, GPU Nvidia RTX 3090 VRAM 24GB Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 7, 2TB M2.NVMe, RAM 32GB

April 20, 201016 yr A reworked CJ1 is not a maybe. It's definite and it's the next thing coming from Eaglesoft. I'm looking forward to it.To be specific, it is the Cessna Citation CJ1+ Extreme 2.0 w/Full Universal FMS.It will likely reach release after our Diamond DA42 Twin Star w/G1000.I have the Cessna Citation Mustang and I just love it.The G1000 implementation and it's graphic presentation comes closer to the real thing than any other I have seen. You won't be disappointed if you buy the Cessna MustangBill ClarkWe agree. :(
