ESDG Twinstar released!

Come on guys! Don't nit-pick :( VC reflections are just a (very) minor visual feature. I don't think anyone would choose that over a breath-taking flight model or a nicely laid out panel. :(

Thanks Ed. Reflections vs No Reflections are usually the types of dicussion that can go on endlessly while folks lose sight of other excellent features. :(
On another note... since this 'reflective glass' is anything but in FS... after all it's a static image that never really changes based on lighting conditions (completely unrealistic)... why all the fuss??
FSX-user here but thought I'd chime in on this topic...I agree with Ed - I can't stand static VC reflections on the windscreen or windows... ick!!! Some developers (I've only seen it with FSX) do the dynamic ones but very slightly, so it looks pretty decent.

It can be done in FS9 as well. A few aircraft I have seen have/had it.

We didn't say it can't be done. We said we made some choices... :(

maybe its just me but VC glass reflections can go as far as i'm concerned, since in real life i've only ever seen slight reflections in aircraft fresh from the factory (and in the DA-42 i fly the window's are slightly scratched up lol....no reflections there....even with the window cleaner lol :( )most aircraft after a couple months of regular usage lose their shine where windows are concernedon a side note though, is the variant in this sim the Thierlert powered one or the newer Austro powered version?overall, excellent rendition/simulation of the Twin Star!--xavier

Personally, i can't get enjoyment without the reflections. I know there are more important things such as systems and such, but it really does add a lot to the immersion factor. I wish there was a way to get reflections in the version 2 citation as well. I was really let down when that was added as a FSX only feature. The Twinstar I am skipping on until there is a way to have reflections. I thought there was a way of adding it without too much of a FPS hit?? Just my 2 cents.

Okay, what feature(s) would you prefer to be left out entirely just to have enough available polygons to add "reflections?"If I try to add the "reflective glass polygons" to the model it won't compile at all, so something would have to be left out. It truly isn't a question of "fps hit" at all... :(

Bill I'd say exclude the reflections if it's going to take away from other features. I found a visual issue I reported in the ES forums that is far more important. Reflections is one thing but whole controls surfaces missing from view is another which hopefully will get addressed. :( Great bird, outstanding choice, and wonderful FDE (landing it is a joy). :(

A brand new ES plane released and 24 replies later it's ALL about window reflections?

Thielert only as outlined on our DA42 Features Page. :(

Please do skip on this one because VC Reflective Glass is not and will not be included in the FS9 Version. :(

To be clear..Dillon is refering to tail feathers not viewable from VC, not missing control surfaces. Another visual deal which has no effect on flyability. :(

Haha, quite common behaviour which is predictable. One or two users squawk about their favorite feature, others argue the counterpoint, thread goes OT and all the other features are ignored as folks lose sight of the big picture.Glad to see a mod participating so hopefully it won't go too far OT and disintigrate.
