For those of you who paid the whopping $54 for the mustang, do you feel its worth the price. I have a rig that was built for FSX and get very high FPS and wondered how much of a drop in performance you have seen. I remembered on FS9 I purchased the Eaglesoft SR-22 for $35 and it was awful on frames. Been spending some time learning the G1000 on the default cessna and find my self with "Head in the cockpit" instead of enjoying the scenery. I dont like flying the default lear jet because of the avionics package and lack of gps and the mustang has the real Garmin 1000. The only Flight1 aircraft I have owned was the ArcherII for FS( and quickly dropped it when I discovered Carenado. So let me hear some likes and dislikes..

If you are looking for a really good G1000, the Mustang will give you that. If you enjoy traditional avionics more, theReal Air Duke might be a better choice.. Both are complete, classy, well built personal "airliners".. and the Duke, with the RXP GNS (optional) installed, will do all the GPS navigation that the Mustang will do in a moretraditional piloting environment.BTW, I fly both with a 3.2 GHz quad without problems.

I don't know much about the Mustang but if its sold by flight1 buy it, try it and the best thing is if you don't like it or its to hard on frames they have a 30 day money back guarantee.

Honestly the G1000 in in the Mustang isn't that deeply simulated. It's good, but if you're looking for PMDG-style depth it's not there I'm afraid. Still, it's a neat little plane to fly and the modeling is gorgeous so I'm glad I bought it.

Couldn't disagree more Alex. Why state the F1 Mustang G1000 isn't deeply simulated?PMDG doesn't make a G1000 so it's dificult to compare apples to apples when one dev doesn't even make apples... :(

I'll just elaborate on my thoughts on the Mustang as whole because I think that last post came out sounding pretty negative: Pros:Amazing modeling, external and VCGreat soundsGood documentationExcellent supportFlies great, I don't know what a Mustang flies like but it sure is fun to fly in the simBest G1000 simulation so farCons:Need a pretty beefy computer to run it well. Before I got my i5-750 I had it shelved because of performance (I was using an E6600)No load managerNo weight & balance page in the G1000No G1000 cheklistsDoesn't seem like there's much to the AHRS simulation... as soon as you turn on the batteries it's aligned and ready to goNo VNAV simulation. This is the biggest con to me.It's overall an excellent add-on and I'm glad I bought it but I guess my desires are too much for this price point... I would've paid twice as much to fix those last issues.

I have just got the Mustang and am really enjoying it - the G1000 is much better than the default version, the VC is second to none.Graphically I would say it is the best add-on I have purchased (well along with the Duke & L39), very much enjoy the flight model - although you don't want to go and mess around with the default payload (Alex's weight & balance comment is correct).. .. As it is Flight One you get 30 days to go for a refund if you don't like it - so there really is nothing to lose !!G

Hands down my favorite FS aircraft (ever) - beautiful to fly, look at and operate. I'm a real world user of the G1000 and the level simulated is a good balance for the price tag. As Gazzareth said, with the 30-day refund you have nothing to lose./Dave

The Flight1 Mustang is worth having. I think the price is ok too. I noticed the loose of only a couple of frames.

I have the Mustang and fly it exclusively.I do agree with Alex. The F1 Mustang G1000 is very close to the default FSX G1000 in functionality. That is, almost the same Groups and Pages are modeled even though the actual Cessna Mustang G1000 offers much more. Not necessarily a bad thing. Just would like to see more Group and Page displays added.I do commend F1 for adding the key board control and Navigraph Navdata service in the SP updates.

Garmins G1000 comes in many different flavors according to the specs of the aircraft manufacturer. In short, there is no one size fits all. While I don't have the Mustang at this time it is reasonable to expect that the F1 Team did it to spec given the relationship with Cessna for the Mustang.

Totally disagree. Not even close.

Honestly Ron, why did you question my opinion when you don't even own the add-on in question? F1 didn't do the G1000 to "spec" as that'd be impossible at this price point. However, there are things such as VNAV and some other features that wouldn't be totally unreasonable to ask for that are missing. I would quickly pony up the cash for an expansion pack, as would many other Mustang customers who've expressed a similar opinion.

Please re-read what I wrote. "That is, almost the same Groups and Pages are modeled even though the actual Cessna Mustang G1000 offers much more."If I am wrong in what I wrote above, please explain how. I at least supported my statement with an example.
