August 12, 201015 yr Uhoh...I take it the writing is on the wall for Eaglesoft FS9 support. :biggrin:Edit* Just had a look at the Eaglesoft website.... FS9 products in abundance! :( Hang in there guys ..... how about a TBM 700/850 or Falcon 2000 and I will be spending some money with ya! :(I second this one... :( FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
August 12, 201015 yr When FSX went RTM we, like other developers, were required to step up and build for two specific simulator versions. There was seemingly no end to the hate emails and forum hammering because we did not provide free FSX versions of our FS9 aircraft. We persevered and continue to build and market specific FS9 or FSX versions of our aircraft. It should be known that we've monitored sales of both versions and frankly FS9 products such as our recent DA42 Twin Star release are outsold by the FSX versions by quite a margin. If forced, over time, to drop FS9 development because sales numbers no longer justify the work involved we will do as others are doing. We actually like FS9 but business is business guys so please avail yourselves of FS9 products while available.:(
August 13, 201015 yr Author Still I think Carenado should model for both platforms. They are great modellers who can model just as well/ easily in FS9 as FSX. (and could be even greater if they listened a bit more to their punters)They do not have to write and do not write any great systems depth ... that is simple gauges etcEaglesoft's DA42 Twin Star is far more complex for example......but then it should be obvious to even a blind man that a DA24 was not going to be a hit in FS9 as say a TBM700/850 might be. :( Same with Carenado ....the F33 or Caravan would be a bigger hit than a C185 (I bought the C185 BTW) PMDG.... a B777 would have been a massive FS9 hit compared to a MD-11 (still have not bought the MD-11 yet but I will)So I say if Carenado wan't to go out .....go out on a high like a F33 or Caravan. :Party:Still whatever they or any developer decides to do now will not change my deep love of FS9 which I will be staying with for a long time. :( .... now where is my TU-154M? ....I wanna hear some noise and put some more hair on my chest! :( My FS Videos
August 13, 201015 yr I also own every Carenado plane; but i think we are a minority when it comes to buying FS9 addons.Any new comer to Flightsim is going to be using FSX. You can't even find FS9 in stores these days. So obviously when making addons, it makes sense to develop for FSX only. Nothing much we can do since companies like Carenado needs to make profit in order to stay alive. Developing for a 7 year old sim is probably not a wise decision financially.personally i just don't have the time to re-invest into FSX (even though i bought it). I'll stick to FS9 until the next FS comes out. In the mean time, I have enough addons to last me for years. And if i want some eye-candy, i'll boot up Wings of Prey or HAWX (i know...arcade games, but still visually stunning). -feng
August 13, 201015 yr Moderator Hey Feng, why do you have two id's now, FengZ and FengFZD? At first I though it was someone pretending to be you until I saw your website under the new ID. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

Because i can't remember my login info while at my studio (the one at home has the auto-login thing). And using the "fogot password" feature doesn't seem to work (i get no email from AVSIM). So yeah, just made another account for when i'm at the office :)-feng

I cant speak for you but i have a ton of accounts for diffrent sites, so it is quite easy to forget what my login information is for various sites.Aaahhhhh todays day and age. Wonderful program that can create a master file for you, encrypt it and password protect it and you can load it onto a thumbdrive. Furthermore you can now get thumbdrives with a combination required to even see the encrypted data on the drive so you can feel safe walking around with it...http://www.geardiary.com/2008/03/16/review-corsair-padlock-thumb-drive-protecting-your-data-today-tomorrow-and-every-day-in-between/http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCMQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fpasswordsafe.sourceforge.net%2F&ei=xXllTIqkFMH98Ab-29ihCQ&usg=AFQjCNGlVmVM-UZB7l7jD3B5x7y8TsZCEg-Paul Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
August 13, 201015 yr Still I think Carenado should model for both platforms. If a developer thinks it will get a better return on its investment by concentrating its efforts on one platform then that is what it will do.Why should it do otherwise? Gerry Howard
August 13, 201015 yr PMDG.... a B777 would have been a massive FS9 hit compared to a MD-11 (still have not bought the MD-11 yet but I will)EdBuy the MD-11 today, it's great fun :( Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
August 13, 201015 yr It is sad thing, but time marches on. I wish Carenado would stay in the FS9 world but, I often do not get what I wish. Good luck Carenado, I won't be joining you with FSX.Phil Phil
August 13, 201015 yr maybe some day i willl migrate to fsx, but it is definetly not in the foreseeable future. So it is kind of sad, but I look at it this way, If and when i am ready to go over to fsx, there will already be an abundance of already developed add-ons at my finger tips. August 13, 201015 yr Just a curious developer, but why are you guys sticking with FS9 so-long? Didn't FSX come out around 4 years ago now.Hardware & addons must be up to scratch by now?I don't prefer either, but would love to just focus on a single platform. FS9 is starting to look really rough & FSX's poor performance has been over come with brute hardware power rather than slick engine programming. So why not FSX?
August 13, 201015 yr Because it doesn't work well for "me". There's a short answer to that...tough! A developer isn't going to subsidise your "toys". Gerry Howard
