THIS changed FSX for me

Anyone who is thinking about getting this program, have no worries. The program works flawlessly and if it you happen to run into a problem, let Steve know and he'll find it and fix it. If your new to FSX this is a great first addon.

I just have to jump in and sing the praises of Ideal Flight. FSX is infinitely more compelling (and fun) now, and much easier to just jump in and fly. It's easily the best utility I've purchased for FSX. I've now got a persistent fleet of my favorite aircraft parked across the Pacific Northwest. When I feel like taking a flight it's only a minute or so before I'm in the cockpit with my preferred cold and start settings, with realistic and changing weather, flight plan loaded, properly fueled, ready for taxi. The thread title says it all for me ... after getting a bit discouraged with FSX, I'm having more fun with it than I've had in years. The biggest positive for me is the responsiveness and support of the developer. I've made a few feature suggestions, all of which are getting rolled into the next update. That's a new experience for me. Kudos.

For anyone unsure, Ideal Flight X works fine with My Traffic X and VoxATC.The weather generation is great and the complete, customisable, briefing on the kneeboard is very useful. If you don't need real world weather and fancy a challenge, then I can highly recommend this add-on.Before using Ideal Flight, I spent ages planning my flights and switching between PlanG, FSCommander, Google Earth and Foreflight Pro (ipad). Now I just open IF, generate a flight, based on my pre-selected criteria e.g. duration, general direction, ILS, tower etc, and off I go.I'm fuelled and ready for start-up, from where I previously landed, in a couple of minutes....Part of the challenge, for me, is flying to and from airports that I don't know or wouldn't normally choose, and this really adds an element of excitement to the flight. The weather is also very dynamic, for example, on my test flight last night, I started off in cloudy conditions, which turned into a rain storm, which then developed into a lightning storm...Not something that I have ever experienced in FSX using ASE... Kudos +1

Hehe, nice to see this thread still alive :-). My adoration for IF hasn't changed a bit since I started the discussion here, on the contrary: It's not often that I start a flight without it. RC4, AS2012 and IF is my combo of choice (ok, and an excel-sheet for my fav routes for my private little one person VA).Here's my personal dreamlist (take it easy, Steve, I can live without all those items *g*):

  • IF saves the flight plans automatically in the formats of the addon planes (for example PMDG)
  • IF doesn't delete the flight plan after having flown it, but allows me to store it away for a possible reuse
  • IF gets a cabin crew feature
  • IF uses up to date AIRAC data
  • and IF keeps track of two databases, one with ORBX activated, one without

Keep up the great work!Best,Bernhard

Love this software and I definitely appreciate the frequent updates, makes me feel like it is a well placed investment.

These would be my two favorite additions if Steve could manage it. We should keep spreading the word about it to keep up sales (and Steve's endurance :( )

same here, I love the trial, would buy instantly if those options would be possible in future release.

shameless advertising for Ideal Flight!!!I just used the trial version this weekend, and I have to say it is very cool and fun!!!I really think this software should have more stagetime, guys just try it its free......and no I dont have any connection to the developer :-)Here the feedback I wrote on the teams forum:Hi IF-TeamI really love it so far, I just have minor things I would like to know if possible:1. When I fly the PMDG 737NGX, I get minus points because of seatbelt and nosmoking signs, but I have them on on. How can I prevent the penaltys? (You know I am aiming for 100%) icon_e_biggrin.gif2. PMDG RTE flightplan automation would be iceing on the cake. icon_e_wink.gif3. Low visability condition, I love flying in low-vis-condition, I tried almost every setting, but most of the time vis is greater then 10 miles. I know I can set the general visability to 1 mile, but thats not the my goal, sometimes I would like to see all the expensiv scenery addons I bought icon_lol.gifAny tips?4. Cold and dark settings, I know not working in trial, but would it be possible with the PMDG 737NGX to setup, that just the engines are not started? because I use GSX from FSDT. (Pushback)Thank youMcDan out

I've been following this thread, and I have to say, in a time where many companies try to pull a snow job on the consumer, I am impressed with and have to give kudos to the developer, Steve for the level of service he is providing! This is service! :Applause:Looking into this product now

Cheers,

Jonathan
