Re: NGX impending release: Are we there yet?

Featured Replies

I'm very excited for this release!I was wondering if there had been an official repaint list made? And if so, would it come out at the same time as the NGX or later? If the list is not made, I suggest a Royal Air Maroc B737-800W no eyebrow windows! Thanks PMDG for all of your hard work, and it will all pay off VERY SOON!smile.gifThank you very much!

Best Regards,

As far as I know it was stated quite some time ago that aircraft would only be developed for FSX.
Yes this is exactly what I am refering to........another wanabe developer speaking on behalf of PMDG Please read the bottom of Roberts statement and let PMDG give the final answer, I expect it to be for FSX only but no answer has been made as far as I know for sure. Robert last said on this matter and I quote.....So- once again, we will evaluate the future of FS2004 development as it relates to the 737NG2 in a few months. The major factors in this decision cannot be controlled by any argument here in the forum- they are controlled by the numbers we see in our systems- and MOST IMPORTANTLY by our assessment of the time and monetary costs associated with converting a project this complex to the older platform. Don't mean for this to turn sour, but why the rude comment? It is for FSX only! . Please don't get mad at people for helping you out.

Nah... It was more like a sitting duck. An easy -but well deserved- shoot!

From what I've read this Sim is going to be a superb product as regards, close to real world Flight Performance, the Flight System, FMS, & detailed aircraft systems etc.I know a certain Virgin Blue pilot, now a Captain, who payed the ultimate complement, refering to the operationof the overall FMS performace in the previous PMDG 737 for FS9,... In that he couldn't fault it!But unless it's been mentioned previously, it seemes to me a weak link in the overall Sim, the External Interface!in that you still have to use a generic Control colummn, joystick, with it's limitations!I have a CH Yoke & Pedals which is very good, however I interested to know how this new NGx will behavewhen you are flying it Manually?EG During Rotation & climb out. or Hand flying Approach & LandingHaving regard to real Aircraft control flying attitudes, like pitch flare rate,& general flying control rates & feel. All the Control Sticks have no artificual feedback & even though you can Calibrate it,it,s still limited generatically to be used for a wide range of A/C.I know the 737 operation's are largely automated ,ie MCP & FMS driven in the real world, but for landing or take offsin the Sim, you still need realistic Flight Control action & feel.Hope I haven't bored anybody with all this, but I thought it might be a revelent point,.. considering the new NGX is going to be so good in every other dept.Regards,Stewart T

Robert or Ryan, may I ask when you plan to post the documentation for the NGX? Will it be at the time of release, or will you post it beforehand so we could start reading ahead?

There are models of yokes out there that are modeled exactly off the 737 and 747 with the exact same handling characteristics, Mind you they'll set you back about $2,999...Thinking.gif

Curt-The documentation for the NGX will not be posted for download. The owner of the copyright (a little company named Boeing) will not allow it.We will post our covering the ins/outs of the simulation itself, but you will not be able to download the operations manuals.

PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM
