Re: NGX impending release: Are we there yet?

...changeing the subject slightly gents, being we"re on the brink of a new era regarding the up-coming release of "Microsoft Flight", and hopefully the "good-ridance" of notorious hurrendous frame rates with FSX, I hope all PMDG products will be compatable with Flight.....it"s just that I"ve spent years trying to get FSX to perform satisfactory since purchasing a MESH high-end pc back in 2006 ...and now with a Scan overclocked pc, i7 990X overclocked to 4.2 !!! with all matching hardware...still can"t get smooth fps :(........so really I"ve spent roughly £6000 + tons of software, it"s been ridiculous...so I would take it that microsoft have informed you way back of their plans to develope Flight and all PMDG plans would have been "put in place", so to speak, regarding compatabilities, etc regarding any further developements :( Anyway why are microsoft developing another sim when FSX still doesn"t perform to anybodies standards,5 years after release!.... hardware has significantly improved over these years, which hasn"t had hardly any effect on FSX :( I don"t think I could bare going through all that again with Flight..I"ve literally become an FSX software engineer trying to improve performance over the years, I could write down all the cfg. files without looking!
We have zero information on performance or aircraft compatibility for Flight, until such information is released, we're totally focused on FSX.
Hi PMDG Team, I intended posting an item relating to the FMS which I found to be a bit dodgy in the old 737 2004 but on reading this recent post of yours and realising what you have achieved, the intended post is now in the bin.May I also say that the frustrations relating to when the 737ngx would be released have now receded and I am now more relaxed and content. richard welsh.
There is NOTHING carried over from the older NG we made, zero, zilch. This is from the ground up and it's extremely likely any issues you had with the old one are no longer present. We've had quite a few laughs actually at how off some of the things in the older one are - we've learned a heck of a lot in the 7 years since.

It's only you (nameless person), and maybe a few others, but there are probably more that can run FSX well, than there are that can't. Otherwise PMDG would probably still be developing for FS9 if FSX was such a problem for the majority.I have problems here with FSX and the PMDG a/c that I fly, combined with the fine sceneries in my signature, and I have a worse rig than you do.Maybe you should try NickN's setup guide, followed with *******'s website cfg tweaker. If that doesn't get you running FSX well, then maybe you need professional help of a service like FS-GS. If after that, you still cant run FSX with that system you have, then something must be wrong with it or the overclock. Sean Campbell

Isn´t it so with mostly everybody here? The only thing we do the whole day is tweaking, tweaking and again tweaking...
Not me, with bojote's automatic tuning tool, shader 3.0 mod, and the external fps limiter with my hardware in my signature, I get around 30fps solid. FSX is smooth and with REX, GEX, and UTX it looks amazing. No tweaking for me, just flying and enjoying.

I am sure someone has said this but Mr. Randazzo, I hope you are feeling better! Can't have a sick captain forget to code crucial features!

Nothing like a pep-talk from Robert to fire up the crowd. :(

Robert, could I ask what doctorate Dr Vaos has? I'm assuming he isn't an MD.

PhD Computational Fluid Dynamics (which is essentially mathematical modelling of very complex systems involving fluid flow (air is a "fluid" in physics terms).)

Is he anything like Sheldon Cooper from the TV series "The Big Bang Theory"? lol

Not me either. I actually enjoy my FS. I haven't done any "tweaking" in several months. Thanks for the SITREP, Robert. :(

If anything it has been the honesty and accuracy of the progress of this development that has risen the staff of PMDG above all others. It has been said that patience is a virtual, there are not many virtuous creatures in this crowd waiting for this product, that being said I guess it almost time to build the fire, becuase I think we will see white smoke soon.

Great to hear some newsAs for taking a short holiday... I currently am on a holiday, travelled across the US into Canada (flew in from Australia) and still have 3 weeks left, even passed Boeing field in Seattle and saw two 787's and a 747-8F sitting on the tarmac, the 747-8F all opened up with boeing staff working on it.Anyway I spotted the boxed 747-400X for 29.99 at London Drugs so I snapped it up (which I can't use until I get home in 3 weeks), now it looks like It might be put a side for the 737NGX. :D
