Now I hope I've got their statements correctly, but in short: this fps drop happens on a huge number of addons, it's just more or less severe. After reading the threads in the iFly forums, I've checked some of my favourites and it happens there too, you just don't realize it if your sim runs smooth unless you watch the fps counter all the time. For example, the MD11 has some fps drop too, at least on my system. The E-Jets V2 have none, again, on my system. Since I get very good overall fps with the iFly, it's not a problem at all on my side. Now since the severity of the fps drop is very system dependant and since only some users report huge drops with the iFly, they can't reproduce the thing. I only lose 3 fps or so when placing the mouse in the VC. If those threads hadn't "told" me about it, I wouldn't have recognized it at all. They are on it, which means that they are trying to find the cause of the drops and maybe reduce the impact then. But, as said, this is very, very difficult if you have no reproducible data set available and no consistent output on the user's systems. So maybe the best one can do is to test the impact on his system. The 30 day trial allows that, which is a big pro regarding other devs where you either are happy or pay for an addon you can't really use.

I'm getting pretty significant framedrops, say my non framedrop framerate is 30, when i move my mouse around in the fsx window in the vc I get perhaps 22 fps. I also noticed that if i keep the mouse pointer within a 2d panel, for example the cdu 2d panel popup im not getting any drops at all. It seems to me that the drops are related to the way fsx polls the vc geometry, trying to figure out if there's a click spot at the point the mouse pointer is pointing at

anyone know how to install the flight1 downloaded liveries to this beast??ThanksTom
Follow your "My Fleet" PDF to install...that .pdf was installed along with the aircraft. It's not elegant, but the livery install is simple to follow with the instructions that accompany the 737.

And the only thing bugging me is the lack of good virtual cockpit lighting. So important not only day and night but dusk and dawn. My dome light doesn't work at night in some models and the wing lights are not set by default

The current lighting is reduced when following this post. http://ifly.flight1....ase-informationSo expect a change/fix to come up soon and maybe the feature pack offers some more enhancements. I'd like to see some adjustable lights like on the Maddog or the MD11, but this stuff is rare in FSX.
Indeed! Might I also add that I admire your way of looking at this? Instead of saying that iFly ought to do something about it, you turn it around and you say "if that's the stuff he finds, then iFly did a good job!". Seriously, if the forums would be populated with your way of looking at things, developers like PMDg would not be so hesitant as to show off their work more frequently.
Benjamin, I think you have spoken on the behalf of most of us who would like to endorse your observations.Criticism is a fair part of a healthy debate but when it stems from just because I did not bother to read the Readme.txt,or the accompanying PDF files, then I may as well be in the seat of a McLaren Supersports car when all I have been used to is is a Mini when I cannot control its sheer power and end up wrapping it round the nearest lamp-post.Whom do I blame then? My inadequacy or the makers?

Alan and CoolP.Two well-thought posts. You two are a real credit to this Forum for your objectivity.Developers like iFly,and others thinking of entering this market can only be encouraged by reading positive posts like yours.Pleasure to read your thoughts.

Honestly Before the iFly 737ng for fsx, I did not know a thing about ifly. So far Im very impressed. I really like being able to use the HUD.

They've just posted the fixlist or the upcoming SP1. A complete changelog here. http://ifly.flight1.net/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=3878&title=fsx-sp1-updateThey've also stated that they are looking forward to some bigger improvement on that mouse cursor issue and also showed a screenshot of the upcoming config tool, offering an option to inhibit the joystick and/or throttle when AP/AT are engaged. No promises there, but one can surely watch the huge effort going into the product, which is impressive.

Ah I see they didn't include my suggestion about adding to the form in the My Fleet utility the ability to include the ATC_Parking_Types, and ATC_Parking Codes settings. Without these, you still have to manually edit them in, which defeats the purpose of the My Fleet utility. Ah well, maybe the next SP!

Thanks

But those codes are only for assigning AI parkings spots, nothing to do with your airplane

There is a HUD? I have not seen it, nor do I or recall reading about it in the manual. Where do I find this?
