Level-D such a shame

Still one of the best AC for flightsim. And now even better with the beta gauge. No more double engine starts and flushed perf data!

Agree with everyone on the great attributes of the L/D B763. What do you all use for fuel calculations for a flight? Thanks, Bruce.
Bruce, FSBuild has a fuel calculation built into it so it works good. However the FSB calculation is based on the non-winglet version. I now fly my LDS 767 with winglets which has about a 4% reduction in fuel burn, so I am landing with a little too much fuel. I heard someone is modifying the FSB 767 fuel rates.Bob

Here I use FSBuild + ActiveSky (for wind predictions) and the calculations are spot on.

As long as you don't fill the FMC it is working, yes, Please fill your FMC and fill in the cost index (you have to otherwise you can't fly VNAV
I've never flown without filling the FMC, including the cost index, never had problems, always perfect. I'm using FSX version, but it was the same with FS9.
Zero problems with LDS 767 here. Best and most reliable plane in the FS world at the moment. It's also FPS friendly.
Me for instance wouldn't call it FPS friendly.I already posted a question on the LDS support thread. My problem, which is I'm afraid there no matter what:FPS in 2D fast (35 locked).FPS in external, fast (35).Change to VC, FPS drop to 25 (normal, VC is demanding, OK)Change back to 2D or external, fps low, around 25.Apparently VC textures are not unloading and are causing the performance drop even if you don't view the VC in that moment.Reason why MY LDS is grounded.

What do you mean by "bounching"?
When you have access to the Level-d forum, http://www.leveldsim.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=16203 see by your self.As soon when you put in Cost Index in the FMC the plane started to bounch/jump on the apron.Haven't found a fix yet although others suggest there is. Only found an " interim" workaround

I think that he's referring to these items mentioned. http://www.leveldsim...celeration-bugsAs you see, the workaround is from Feb 2011, so the solution for the users being affected came somewhere after this date while the problems itself came up with the use of the Acceleration Pack of FSX, in late 2007/early 2008 or so. Since quite some guys had that problem and were rejected somehow (look at the timespan), I can understand some emotions there. But "hate" is a bit too much, you are right. And starting a rant doesn't help in any way of course. The funny thing in that special thread is this 'sorry, can't tell you about it, you have to buy first' mentality though. I mean, he just wanted to know about the present problems, not about the "buy support" solutions. The bug description in the free forums is a bit vague (and maybe outdated, since a fix is available), so questions may come up if a customer is in the decision process. By the way, what about that 757? Big%20Grin.gifI must admit, I haven't used the LD 767 for ages, not bug related though.
NO, I'm not reffering to the FMC bug with flushing data. The Beta gauge is NOT solving the issue, again, here is the original topic that is closed since 2009. I haven't find a clue yet so please, be my guest...http://www.leveldsim.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=16203
Theres a new BETA TEST: Acceleration engine & FMC data dump gauge to fix those problems which most reports from users say its working fine now. there was also the winglet update recenelty I dont see how you can hate the lds767 so much.
How can I hate the 767 after flying 3 years and 2000 hours plus on Vatsim in it BUT in fs9I am talking about the lack of support for FSX

That is really strange, mine is smooth as silk.

Nah, don't misunderstood me. This is not subjectively about FPS. Mine is too - mostly. But there are some situations, where FSX is much loaded, and where I get high FPS in external and AFTER I was in VC, then I get lower in external. It's ver much noticable in those heavy situations. One situation for me is UK2000 EGLL, sitting on the runway, external 35locked. Then to VC, 25fps in 0.3 zoom. Back to external and here we have 30fps now. This does NOT happen if I uncheck highres textures in FSX.And everything has been tested with unlimited FPS too.

Like others I haven't seen this issue on my system, however for VC users the LDS-767, does have a problem. When the plane loads first in VC mode, not all it's systems activate, like for example the GPWS! This is easily correctable by just toggling to the main 2D panel for a couple of seconds. (You only need to do this once in the flight). If you don't, you will not hear the GPWS callouts, plus any other system not initially loaded. If you fly with the VC, try and do this before loading the FMC to see if that helps.

Thanks

I have a problem with bounching 767 after filling the FMC and specially the Cost Index. This one is starting the bounch and even while flying the plane goes nuts.
The cost index has no effect on the aircraft dynamics whatsoever. You can throw any figure in there that you want and the flight dynamics will be the same. None of the FMC's in FSX simulate the real cost index feature of the FMC.Best regards,Jim

Have Level-D for FSX since 2007 but started recently flying with it since my new SB system build can handle it and switched to 100% FSXAfter happy years Level-D 767 VA flying in FS9 I encounterd serious problems with the FSX version.Looking in the Level-D forums for solutions gives me another look and feel about the Level-D support and the fact that Level-D was a king in the old FS9 days but since FSX becomes the joker.I have a problem with bounching 767 after filling the FMC and specially the Cost Index. This one is starting the bounch and even while flying the plane goes nuts. Also the SID/STARS went away or only half so using VNAV is also impossible...I saw a very longggggg topic about it started in 2007 and in summer 2009 the moderator answer was, The team is very busy now with the 757 but after that there will be a fix, Case Closed and topic closed. What the heck, It is now 2 years later and there is no progression for solving that annoying bug????? and we have to wait until the 757 is ready....Level-D, scrap me from your fan list and iFly, go ahead with your 737 for FSX very rapidly and I will make the step-over. Already have the FS9 version with lots of pleasure but as I said, I stepped over 100% to FSX now.Happy landings...
UPDATE !!!I have installed on another partition with another language (completly other boot drive) FSX fresh with SP1 and SP2 and NO Acc Pack, no add-ons and the FSX Level-D SP2a version only and have exact the same problem. To be more specific, Running under Win7/64 SP1By the way, The suggested Beta gauge patch is for the starting engines bug and flushing FMC date only...So, Still a bounching aircraft and speedbrake lever that goes up and down and FMC SIDS only half filled, some rows with only speed and some with only altitude so VNAV is not working. Have also installed after checking the FMC MSXML parser but still a half filled FMC.Remember guys, I'm flying the Level-D 767 in FS9 for more then 3 years and + 2000 hours so I realy know how to handle the plane.... never had any issue but the FSX version seems very bad to me. For those ho have access to the level-D forums can't ignore that there is a known bug when you look at the very long topic from 2007 till 2009 about the bounching problem.Using the search on the Level-D forums gives 0 hits although there was the long but closed topic. For the topic adress see at my post above.I will post a new topic about it on the Level-D forums so I hope they will come with a solution and NOT a workaround for hitting the CI after take-off.Seems

Apparently VC textures are not unloading and are causing the performance drop even if you don't view the VC in that moment.
I haven't been using my LVLD lately - I've been busy :(...but just as a general FSX comment. My understanding is VC textures should not unload. If they do…it's a sign of a system struggling with the amount of texture in the scene (arcrft+scenery). It’s forced to unload textures to make space…then reload on view return - not good.I suppose there’s a tweak out there that may help some...or more hardware. But the practical solution is to reduce the volume of texture in the scene.

When loading the FMC data, are you entering SID/STAR info BEFORE you load the route data? I did have the bounce issue and found that the ROUTE data needs to be loaded then the departure/arrival info. Try that and see if it helps out.Jim
