Thank you, Real AirOne small flaw for RXP users: in the cold and dark setting, the configurator still makes no entry "AutoPowerOn=Off" in the rxpgns.iniMichael

>>the configurator still makes no entry "AutoPowerOn=Off" in the rxpgns.ini<<I wonder if you could email Sean at realair to discuss this. He might have a solution to this.Regarding crossfill, the patch should make this easy without moving files now, but again, if you want to discuss this in detail perhaps you could email sean.We welcome more feedback on the patch, and especially reaction to the new features: multiplayer stability improvements, cabin lighting, better view switching and easier options for Track IR users.Kind Regards,Rob - RealAir

I have never failed to be impressed by Rob & Sean at Realair, since the first release. Both the quality of products and the ABSOLUTELY UNRIVALED (IMHO) customer support.

Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)

I'm using a pair of RXP 530s i.e. Unlimited and after some initial teething problems with Crossfill I got it working, you need to put the ini file in the panel folder and not in the same folder as the aircraft.cfg as is done by default by RealAir.I also have some LUA Scripts if anyone is interested so that the cabin pressure system can be controlled with LINDA or FSUIPC.
This can be confusing, but if you only use the RealAir configurator, which puts the ini file in the aircraft folder, you are OK.If you already have an ini file in the panel folder, this one will take precedence over the one in the aircraft folder, as documented by Reality XP.

The changes on the turbine version are great indeed, but now I miss them in the piston Duke. :biggrin:Is there a chance to e. g. get the new 3 position switch operation method on the older Duke too, maybe together with the option for the additional views on/off?

After researching available FSX GA planes, finally pulled the trigger on the t-duke last night. Continuous improvement by RA by releasing v1.2 is something I appreciated, many develpers tend to release and move on, no attempt at attaining "perfection." So my only reference is v1.2 but saw some items that may not have been addressed: 1) gap between the glare shield and window (TIR users will see this)2) would be good if the nose cone is somewhat visible (again, TIR users can lean forward/up to see the top of the nose where it meets the window)Other than these items, an outstanding product. GNS430W integration was seamless, only had to add shockwave landing/taxi lights and all is well.Pat

Hi Pat, those questions are answered in the manual, try searching the manual for "movie set", to summarise the VC wasn't built with the intention of the user being able to view every nook and crany in close detail with something like track-IR and EZdok, it was built to look good but also keep frame rates up by reducing the number of polygons and textures needed by using the movie set method i.e. you are really only supposed to view the VC from a limited number of locations and aren't supposed to see behind the scenes.

Cheers, Andy.

Yes, I saw the reference to movie props and 'dramatically' shifting view points will expose holes. The nose cone may fall under this category. Extending the glare shield to intersect the window polygon to block the hole (without making it clean and fancy), I don't think will add to the polygon count. And as seen in the screen shot, it's not an unrealistic perspective. I guess I'm used to the VC perspective available on the SF260 where TIR didn't show any of holes...

Robert asked for some feedback on the patch, OK here are a couple of quick comments. I do like the fact that you have allowed us to disable the click spots for view changes for people who don't like/need them due to various reasons, thanks for that. I love the new lighting of the panel, I no longer need to leave the overhead light on anymore at night, so much better. One thing I have found is that it is a lot lot easier to maintain a medium to high taxi speed now without having to constantly touch the brakes or idle levers, I can now control the speed quite easily with just the fuel levers alone and maintain speeds in the low 20's without hardly any effort at all. Unfortunately though it's now really hard to taxi at low speed around the ramp, she is always wanting to stop when you get down below 6 knots or so and you need to firewall the fuel levers before she starts moving again. It looks like I am going to have to relearn slow taxiing in the turbine and use the brakes at slow speed instead of at high.I've managed to overspeed her already, that red line doesn't half come up quick, I have to pull the throttles back to about 27% now to hold 190knt at 3000 Feet. No this paragraph isn't a complaint, just a comment on how different she is to fly now. The Turbine Duke is still very much my favourite GA aircraft I spend the majority of my time in this aircraft especially now I have two 530's in the VC with me.Thanks for the fab update, I'm sure I will get many more hours of enjoyment from this wonderful plane.

Cheers, Andy.

I also luv the excellent update to an already excellent plane! If there is any easy way to dim the panel lighting (not gauges) someone please let me know otherwise I will live with it.Cheersjja

I like the update also, but now I have no landing or taxi lights. I have the original default 'spotlight' file in the texture folder, but no lights project onto the runway. I also tried REX landing lights, they don't work with the Duke either. Anyone else having a landing lights problem since the update?Update: I just realized I don't have landing lights for ANY aircraft. I can't imagine what happened to disrupt this. I'm starting to panic. :(

You have enabled landing lights in FSX haven't you?Rob - RealAir

Thanks for the feedback Andy. Oddly though, we haven't fiddled with the engine power, props or performance at all, so I'm wondering where this new handling feel you observe is coming from. The update was almost exclusively confined to panel and gauge functions, a few visual things, multiplayer and switches. I can't recall touching anything related to ground or air behaviour.Rob - RealAir
