July 29, 201114 yr It's so nice to live in a town where everybody thinks they are the sheriff. Guys, the way i see it...Do you think that the police would manage all the problems if the people don't help reinforcing the basic rules by pointing out what it wrong or right to family and friends?I understands that may not by that nice that someone that its not the moderator tells you to follow a rule, but i thing it is our responsibility to try to help to maintain the order. I think there should be some common ground where we give a friendly reminder to sign posts and the others at least sign a first name. July 29, 201114 yr It's so nice to live in a town where everybody thinks they are the sheriff. That was my point. It's a bit of a contradiction when you stomp around here telling everyone what to do in the name of maintaining the forum(which isn't your job to begin with....), but then as a result, threads like this get completely derailed by your vigilantism, then what's the point? If it's not your job and you're not a moderator, MYOB. The world isn't going to fall off its axis because one person neglected to sign his name. July 29, 201114 yr @rsrandazzo It would not be possible to launch a package only with the versions and 737-700/WL 737-800/WL?We simulate the operations of that GOL (brazilian air line) would not have a reason to buy the 737-600 and -900.It would be an interesting configuration of sale and without the need for multiple packages.Cheers,

If it's not your job and you're not a moderator, MYOB. The world isn't going to fall off its axis because one person neglected to sign his name. (This is my last post on the subject, FYI....) -john rodgers Not only is this completely off topic, this whole spat is petty and a waste of everybody's bandwidth no matter what the topic is... I don't want to draw this out any longer than it's already gone, but since this is mostly about me and it did eat up two pages of this thread, not to mention everybody's time, I may as well get a closing thought in. I didn't "start" anything with you, Johnny, and I probably should have just ignored your snarly post and left it at that rather than post the reply that I did. I apologize to anyone who wanted to read and post about the NGX and instead had to read the two inane pages of people being contrary for the sake of being contrary that resulted. But just so we're all clear on this, the thread didn't get "completely derailed" until you felt compelled to tell me off (not to mention deciding it was necessary to deliberately not sign your posts for the purpose of irritating me). My feelings aren't hurt, it's okay, but if it wasn't for my number of posts (around the same as your number of posts, might I add) you probably never would have bothered... just please disabuse yourself of the idea that I'm some forum virgin wannabe moderator. I've been around AVSIM for ten years, just never really active POSTING on the forums and not on THIS account, and while I have 94 posts here I have something like that figure squared elsewhere... so this is not my first rodeo. Why are there rules, and why should people be reminded of them? Forums CAN and DO melt down with very little forewarning and it's a lot better for everybody who actually enjoys reading and posting in a particular forum to keep it within the rules rather than assume moderators have god-like powers and abilities. Forums can go hostile in a hurry. It DOES happen... it even got a bit ugly on a few threads here a couple weeks ago... and look at this, two pages of this thread devoted to groaning, over what? Nothing. It's great when moderators step in to ban miscreants and lock or delete out-of-control threads, but it's much better if that never has to happen. That's why the rules are there. It's not like not signing posts is going to cause catastrophic natural disasters (neither will spambots or the cussing, caps-flooding, middle schooler $Up3R-tR011-1998) but one of the reasons for signing posts is to help keep forums from getting nasty, as most people won't attach their real name to unnecessarily harsh and combative posts. When people don't sign posts, they either didn't know the rule existed (most cases) or they don't have much if any respect for their fellow posters and flagrantly violate the rules because they want to -- good things will not generally follow when that's the case. That's enough of that. The packages will have been very deliberately split so that the two most popular variants separate. More money for PMDG, and to be fair they deserve it! Think of it like this... due to the demand, the 700 and 800 are worth a lot more by themselves than the 600 and 900, so if the 7 and 800 were packaged together, they would not really be selling it for $70, (eventually $75). That's already a high price for an addon aircraft. (Offhand, I know of only the MD-11 @ $80 and the Majestic Q300 "Pro" @ 70 EUR/approx $100 priced higher than this) But it's not so expensive as to be prohibitive, like it would be for many simmers if all of the eventual variants were only available in one package priced well over $100. Breaking it up into palatable pieces will allow people to not buy some of the packages if they're not interested in them, but it also allows people to purchase the entire package eventually without dropping a large sum of money. PMDG could really appreciate the -700 and -800 in another way so that these packages could be purchased independently of the others (-600 and -900).A strange situation occurs with the 727 CaptainSim ... I do not fly the 727-100, only the 727-200F, but for this I need to get the BasePack (727-100) and then a pack of Freighter version.Maybe PMDG not abide the idea of independent packages or "semi-independent".
July 29, 201114 yr +11111Ditto. Let's put all that bickering aside and instead turn our collective thoughts to what is going to be a massive milestone in our hobby. This will be, and I stand to be corrected,IMHO,is as massive a jump for me,at least, from the old DOS-based FS to FS2004.This product which we have been waiting for quite a long time,is at last proving to be,from what I have seen in the videos,to have been worth that wait, and will,I'm sure, tranform our time spent with this aircraft. Purely speculation, but perhaps they believe they wouldn't be able to sell nearly as many -900s and -600s if they didn't combine them with the two more popular models? Again, before I get flamed, that's pure speculation. I have no problem whatsoever with the way the packages are configured currently. I'll buy the -800 and the -900 and more than likely forgo the -600 and the -700. I know I've asked this question twice before, but I'm interested in how the -ER package is going to work, i.e. do I need to buy the 6700 package to be able to utilize the -700ER? Or alternatively, is it simply a modification of the models you've purchased? -johnny rodgers
July 29, 201114 yr Johnny, I would be positively shocked if you could end up with 700-ER without purchasing first the 700 but I am not selling this product. Michael J.

If they packaged them together and the -600 & -900 in another, they probably wouldn't be able to sell it to us for $70 because not nearly as many people are going to pay just for the 6/900.As far as I know the 6700 and ER aren't dependent on one another but I could be all wet on that.
