James- Things change. As computing technology has continued to go faster, the hardware makes up for the software. More importantly, as a community we have learned how to more efficiently tune FSX for maximum performance. In the introduction chapter for the NGX, Ryan wrote a wonderful piece that explains how to optimally set up FSX for best performance. A few of our beta testers tried the recommendations and saw a significant improvement in their FPS. I am running FSX on two 32" screens in a debugging configuration and my FPS performance is stellar, even sitting on the ground at KRNT with the OrbX PNW scenery loaded, Active Sky Evolution and a very heavy traffic load in UT2... The fluidity that the NGX provides is a credit to the techniques that we have developed to keep the performance as high as possible. Can I bog it down if I want to? Heck yes... but the days of having to worry about FSX performing poorly are long gone.

I would have never thought of that until 24 hours before, but your 737 really bewitched me, I did not sleep at night thinking of it, after watching that one hour long video inside the cockpit.... I hope I won't be disappointed, of course not by the 737 but by FSX. The only thing that makes me say "it's a pity" is the lack of the weather radar, that could have been there, even if not realistic, for completeness of systems, but I don't want to, once again, open a long discussed topic. Well done mate, a wise move you have done. Glad to see that some move on from the FS9 mumbo jumbo and decide that FSX is the reason to move on with what can be achieved. If I may, maybe consider purchasing some cool airports from FlyTampa/FSDreamTeam/FlightBeam/Orbx to fly the NGX to and maybe REX as you will be flying into the clouds on every flight?

It's amazing! After all these months of complaining about how long it takes to complete the 737NGX one should think that there was enough time to save some money to buy it, especially with the readily available knowledge about the price of the MD-11. But no, now that the release is imminent the complaining about the long wait shifts right to complaining about the price, even though it's ridiculously and surprisingly low for what this sim will offer and how much work went into it. If you have forgotten already you should watch Nick's videos again.

Hi guys, I live in Poland, I earn 400$ per month (no i t doesn't mean I'm poor), I've been saving cash since last summer for this release because, as all folks here, I knew it will be expensive, and now I will buy all models. It's not overpriced, comparing to "complexity vs price" ratio of other products out there, PMDG is giving it almost for free. For 50$ some other top devs wont include even VNAV... Gents, I have to say I’m surprised at the number of people who have no interest in the 700s, perhaps its because I work with a mostly 700 operator (We have 600s, and the 800) but the 700 is defiantly the work horse of the fleet. And the most common NG we see up here in Canada. The NG design is based off the 700 size, and was first to roll out of the assembly line, its most proportionate to the size of a aircraft that it is. The 800 is a stretch of the original design, and while having a greater payload, it comes with reduced range. Any thoughts as to why the seemingly low lack of interest? Other then the obvious gap in sales between the 700 at 1411 vs. the 800 at 3769. Am I the weird one that will enjoy the 700 more then the 800?

well in my case i work with both the 700 and the 800 and yet sometimes the old 400 so im also in the same boat that you are ill be interested on all the releases ...
