I woke especially early today at the time of 7AM to find that there has been a cyber attack on the PMDG website and all operations are offline!! I hope to god they fix it in time! I hope that those responsible for the attack are found and punished!! I have faith in you guys here at PMDG and I know my expectations are high.

Same for me.. Really hope they fix it soon.

Well top 'o the mornin to ya, I'm just up and was like facepalm, guess it was right of me to go to sleep early yesterday as this is goin nowhere for a while...

Dont think many Europeans got a look in yet. Went to bed 23:00 (22:00 UTC) with no release. Up at 07:00 (06:00 UTC) to be greeted with: Dear customer, We are currently experiencing a database connection problem on our store. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please notify the store administrator so that we may fix the problem as soon as possible and let you know when the store becomes available again.Thank you for your cooperation! Not sure about notifying the store administrator?? There is no mail address and dont want to swamp them. My main wish is to get in before 16:00 otherwise more madness will occur when everyone in europe will try to buy plus the rest of the U.S. ohmy.png Good luck PMDG.

Regards

I bought it about 3 hours ago (6:30 CET), and although I got the data base error, I got through after a few retries. Helge

Gents- We elected to take ecommerce down just to reduce the number of people being impacted by this. What we are seeing is an attack that moves back and forth between ecommerce and support servers.. We'll be ahead of it shortly.

Good to know, I can't wait to get my hands on this, fair play to PMDG for sticking with it throughout the night, although I suppose it's only coming up to your night about now anyway....

There is no way I would put my card details anywhere near a hacked site. PMDG need to confirm their site is secure.

Good work guys, hope to be able to buy it soon.

It's not hacked, it was a DDOS, they're different, one is where you go into the site and wreak havok on the inside, the DDOS is where yuo simply bombard the site with requests until it gets overloaded and crashes to put it simply. The site is still perfectly safe, all transactions can be done through PayPal as well if your still unsure.

The site itself isn't compromised. As has been stated already, a denial of service attack is merely a block, stopping incoming requests to a server from ever reaching the server. There are different ways of doing this, a DDOS, or distributed denial of service attack usually employs a botnet or few to bombard tens of thousands of requests a second at the server until it is overloaded. Worst case scenario, the server owner can no longer contact it either... It is a veritable PITA when some body or organization takes it upon themselves to block in this way... Problem is, the chance of actually getting the responsible party in front of a court is nigh on zero, particularly if the origin is China... Good luck in getting the eCommerce and support systems back on line and protected from the DDOS... Andrew
