I just had my first 10min flight in the Maule over KSEA (a nightmare in FSX) and I must say that I was very much impressed. Complexity slider at max, Autogen one notch below max, Max aircraft traffic and still 30 FPS locked and no stutters, even in external view. Water looks fine (didn't try all the settings) and weather especially gorgeous. Looking forward to my next flight tonight with lots of stuff to try out.Just amazing !

KInd regards

Yup, those developers who also make stuff for real-world training will probably not take kindly to their FSX stuff being used in P3D, so that'd include Flight 1 and Aerosoft for a start. Al
If this indeed continues to evolve, I would have no problem paying a cross over fee to developers. It is only fair. I know that Flight 1 has stated that they are pretty fed up with "the sim community" here on AVSIM. LOL cain't really blame them for that sometimes. They do good work and will be missed for a while. Not sure how Cessna is going to feel about being left out of all this though since they are under some sort of contract with Flight 1. I did read somewhere that Aeosoft is looking to support P3D. I am sure it will sort out given time.

Don't confuse Flight1 for Flight1 Tech. And... where in the world are you getting the idea Cessna and F1 are not still working on things. That is simply inaccurate and more percieved propaganda. Jim

Jim, I am not going to be bated by you. I think you are being a bit over sensitive here. You replyed directly to me stating that you products are not to be used in P3D. You are mis-quoting me completely. Jez man I am on your side. As I said before, I am sure it will all get sorted. I am not attacking you, I am pulling for you to be moviated to produce more fine products for what ever platform.

There is no bait, or misinterpretation by me. You made the Cessna comment. I simply am responding to it and clarifying that statement as inaccurate. If you are going to make a statment, make sure it is accurate. Its that simple. Besides that, thank you, I apprecaite it and your support. Jim

Humm gonna check this out when i get back on the desktop PC,i guess its worth a months fee upfront to checkout and see how far under the hood i can stick my nose ;)Cheerssteve

Does SLI actually improve performance? From what I have seen so far Yes !!Anything to do with scenery is much better and faster than FSX.Shader 3 is very nice too. Rain and snow are now a reality. Hmm this looks like something that would be awesome if true.

Rain and snow are now a reality.
I think Al said that rain and snow are still the same as they are in FSX unfortunatley. Even though I am not fond of the rain, I would love to see better snow fall effects, even if it looked like it did in FSX would be better than the snow in FSX.

Could someone post screenshots of visuals which appear significantly different in P3D - like rain/snow rendering.

Good day

I  Did not read through all that is Posted   sorry i just need to make a fast Decision  Here is where i am stuck ,,,

I have FSX Deluxe  but it is the old FSX  I dont even remember how long ago i bought it  ,  It always gave me problems and then i have put so much eforrt of making it work  ,,  and last summer i was away from Fsx      Just my Luck my wife did something and i lost all my date  with my backups ( lets not talk about that   )

After the incident i have upgraded from os 7 home to ultimate  ,  and i have been searching up and down for a web site that sells FSX GOLD  as a download Version   But no luck     ,,,,     So i am here and with fresh window installed  i would Like to know your recommendation   on  should i get FSX GOLD  ???   and is there a Downloadable version     or should i go with  Prepar3D

thank you

And what License should I get i dont get it   am I at the right page ??

Man, digging up a two and a half year old thread? Just as well you did not read it as it is outdated now and refers to version 1.

Go here for details of version 2 (P3Dv2) http://www.prepar3d.com/

The only advice I can give you is that if you had problems with FSX (and it has never been updated, so your old 7 year old version is still - and will remain so, the current version), you may be better off enjoying the P3Dv2 goodness provided you have a decent graphics card. For example, my lowly i5 overclocked to 3.3 with a GTX560Ti works very well with P3Dv2, in fact better than I ever could with FSX.

If you have a lot of 3rd party addons, you will find that you may have to wait for some of them to work in P3dV2, but many of them do.

And at the end of the day LM offer a 60 day refund if you are not happy. If I was in your position, I would be building my new future within a developing platform.

Thank you for your reply   I have been on that site    My second Question is which License to get

that is the upgradeable from FSX     ??  is it the  Academic License ??

Thank you

There is no licence that is upgradeable from FSX. It is a different product.

Choose the licence that suits your needs and requirements. Everything is explained on their site. Only you know your circumstances and that has to be your choice, because if it is not ........... all the wannabe armchair lawyers will takeover this thread.
