Some people just needs to be patient. I don't see the big deal with the team delaying SP1/6700 a little longer. I'm having the autobrake issue (Saitek Pro Pedals) and I'm not complaining. I just don't understand some people here.

I agree. Of all the posts on here complaining about how long sp1 is taking, not one contains a viable suggestion on how to speed it up. Perhaps the guys would get more done if they didn't have to filter out all the crap from "I'm a paying customer" and all that BBB nonsense. Just sit back relax, fly some of the other great addons that are available for the time being. It will be done when it's done.

BUT! At least on their customer support forum, you will get customer support from the staff unlike here.
woah, hold your horses there, the PMDG and beta group provide an awful lot of support based on forum feedback (even if the support ticket is a more direct and preferable route for the team). What you are not seeing is the sheer volume of private interaction to forum posters with a problem that goes on behind the scenes. There are also some very diligent beta testers who read every single forum post here and raise any issues that may have been overlooked on behalf ot the poster (not me, I am afraid due to personal time constraints with other commitments). You really should not generalise when you don't see what happens every day behind the scenes. I am not criticising, just pointing out that there is a huge amount of team response to posts here.JaneRachel

I'm not criticizing, I'm simply forming a conclusion based on Mike's post: this is not the primary support for PMDG products. They have a ticket system for support issues, these users that are having issues should use the ticket system so they are interacting with PMDG staff and not ######,.So.....is Mike wrong? I have yet to see anyone say that he is wrong in saying that issues should only go to the ticket system and not here......did I miss something?

Im going to start a PMDG BF3 clan, this feels like deja vu!

Jane,I assure you that I know far more about the differences between the 6/700 and 8/900 than I led anyone to believe. That is not where my problem lies. My problem is that I believe that at some point it is overkill to keep this thing in the testing phase to "tweak" a few things. I would be willing to bet that the issues they are working on now (minus the rudder peddle deal. I do not have them therefor do not care) are not BIG, ohh the FMC doesn't work. I would be willing to bet that the issues they are working on, while important in the long run, are more along the lines of "the VNAV decent is a smigen off during this rediculous step down arrival into this remote part of a region not many people fly" sort of thing. I appreciate their attention to detail and I know it will be PERFECT at some point, but if it is 99% ready then release it and worry about that 1% after everyone has it. I am sure they will have a few more issues they will need to work on once it is released, so just add it in. I am willing to wait if they say well, the A/T's don't really hold speed at all, and this hydraulic system is not actually working and the FO's screens don't turn on. Those are big issues. I would be surprised and frankly a little concerned if they were dealing with those issues. I think they are small and, while appreciated and needed, I think they could make their customers happy by releasing their 99% ready product.Again, this is my OPINION. I am not starting a flame war with anyone here, nor at PMDG. I expect respectful critisism (if any) , which all of you have done, and I appreciate that. I am not going to whine (because I am not a child) and say I will never buy their products again. That tactic does not work and generally gets everyone wound up. I will wait like everyone else and merely just give some constructive (uninvited) differing opinions from time to time if so needed.CHEERS
Ken-Bringing a project as sophisticated as the NGX to market is far more complex than most folks realize. We are looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 changes that have been made to the base NGX package, with the addition of about 100 more to support the 600/700. As a matter of procedure each of these changes needs to be tested thoroughly. After more than a decade of doing this- we have developed a pretty good sense for when a product is stable and ready for market. When it came to V1 on Friday- my instinct, and the instinct of other members of the team was that it would benefit from additional time in testing. This type of decision is not unlike knowing when to pull the freshly baked bread from the oven... There isn't a science to it. It is an acquired skill. But I think this serves as a fantastic example of why we do not normally give you a calendar date expectation. There is a tremendous amount of expectation to hit that date, even though the dynamics of the product testing process may change significantly even one hour prior to midnight...So then I come here and move the date, and folks inevitably get upset, start second guessing our decisions, etc... So we won't be doing this again.

Robert,Can you please lock this thread now? The dibble from the malcontent is starting to upset users who do not like to sit an perseverate on things like this.

now it looks like we are wasting PMDG time with RSR having to defend stuff, what a waste of his time
Wayne-Nah. It isn't as bad as it appears. I hate having to "be the heavy" and I'd much rather talk about projects/flying/general enjoy-one-another's-company stuff, but sometimes being a forum mod means enforcing the limits. It is absolutely not a waste of my time. I enjoy being here 99.9% of the time and it makes a nice break from trying to figure out why that darned valve needle isn't moving as designed.
Robert,If the only remaining problem is that of the rudder pedals, couldn't it be possible to release the SDK in the meantime? I bought the NGX as soon as it was out but I am holding off flying it because I don't have my copilot (FS2Crew) and it's not possible to fly a 737 with only 1 pilot! Thanks,James
James-We are working on more than just rudder pedals!Rudder pedals are all I happened to mention in my post. (fortunately... can you imagine?! LOL)I spent my entire sunday running procedural tests on air conditioning in four different types of airplanes, for example...

Robert, I know the timeline is fluid but any guess as to a time frame for seeing the -ER versions once SP1 and the 6/700 is out the door? Weeks or a month or two?
Eric-The ERs are already being worked out... We have an internal estimate on their release but I'm not confident enough in it to mutter it out loud yet...

Guys! Stop please. pleeeeaaaase! Don't waste time and energy on that JBZ guy. He doesn't like the NGX. He doesn't fly it. So he is obvioulsy not in this forum to contribute or to learn. My guess is, that he gets a kick out of making you all angry. And you're buying it. He's just having fun (or making him self feel important or clever) on your behalf. Kill him with silence.

The only proper response to Robert's post should be "thanks for the update".
Bob-Ack! Thanks for the confidence- but lets no go that far out... I am absolutely capable of making mistakes- and I don't like any environment where my thoughts and decisions aren't challenged. As a captain, a chief pilot, or in my current roles as a director and a consultant to airlines around the world- I find that my own ideas always improve with input and a good firm critical challenge or review from someone else.To put it another way: I don't mind disagreement or disappointment, but it doesn't have to be disagreeable....
