November 9, 201114 yr Hi guys, i'm making a top 10 or maybe top 20 with best fsx payware ( commercial ) planes, but i need some help from you the pro's with the list and rankes to make a good movie about it.The list i know for nowCS 707 727 737 777 757 767PMDG 737 747 md-11 JS4100level-d 767CLS 747 767 A330 A310 A340 MD 81Flight 1: Super 80 BN2 IslanderiFly 737DA: Fokker 70/100Overland serieswilco 737 a380 ejets 175/195 777ariane 737simcheck a300airbus xconcorde xLeonardo Maddog 2010qualiti wings 757a2a 377Maybe i forgot some nice one, than call me i will update the list. But for now, what is the best and why, i want to know it for you and i will make a movie at the end of it all :)
November 9, 201114 yr This may be problematic due to the huge amount of different standards that people use. For me it would be a mix of graphical representation, system simulation and realism, but keep in mind I hardly fly anything besides jetliners. I myself can hardly give you a top 10 or top 20, because every plane is great in its own way. what's more you really can't compare a GA aircraft with a jetliner, purely because they are so different in so many respects. So I just give you a list in no particular order of the planes in my hangar that I like best and why.PMDG 737NGX. All around the best because it looks the best, performance is very good, has a very good system simulation and flies really nice.Leonardo Maddog. For me, the Leo MD-80 rivals the PMDG 737NGX in many respects. Its system simulation and flight dynamics are one of the best in the market, but it falls short of the PMDG 737NGX in looks and FSX performance. Hence why it looses to the PMDG 737NGX in my list.PMDG 747/PMDG MD-11. I find it difficult to choose between these two. The MD-11 has some pretty blatant flaws in the exterior model, and I must say that overall the 747 just looks a lot better in many respects. However, the MD-11 provides some performance and system simulation enhancements that the 747 doesn't have. So I find it difficult to choose the best and think they are more or less on the same level.LDS767. I have always loved the LDS767. Its VC might be really outdated by now, what with the completely flat overhead panel, but it flies great and its systems are, even now, really good. I still fly it with a lot of pressure and has always been one of aircraft of choice. "It just feels good" is a terribly subjective thing to say, but alas, I can't say much more about it...Flight1 BN2 Islander. This is the single most atmospheric plane I know. There is just something about it that oozes atmosphere. The rattling of the plane when you take off, the beautiful modeling both inside and outside, the really great sounds, the good system simulation... Just love the plane to bits.PMDG JS4100. While I hardly fly this plane, it's one of the best turboprops in my hangar. Good system simulation, great VC, good sounds, all contribute to a pleasant flight. There are more planes in my hangar, such as the QW757, that I really like, but do not have that extra thing that make it really awesome like the planes I mentioned above. As such I have omitted them from the list. November 9, 201114 yr For modern airliners, I agree with the above poster that the PMDG 737 for FSX is very nice and amongst the best. I also agree that the Level-D 767 is also a close second, although its VC looks alittle out of date. This aircraft could do with an update to bring on par with the PMDG 737.For anything Pre-1960, I would recommend all of A2A Simulations aircraft, but in particular the Boeing B-377 and the Boeing B-17 with Accusim expansions. Here's a video of the B-377 staring up. Notice the APU start up. It was a little pistion engine on these.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdyuCaXoV2k&feature=relatedThe B-17's APU was a Briggs and Stratton lawn mower engine. These A2A Simulation aircraft are extremly detailed and hardcore. They really push what is possible in FSX and these developers are active. They are planning to release an F4 Phantom and it looks like it's going to be the most detail simulation of this aircraft we've ever seen in PCs.Seriously cool stuff and well worth the money.http://www.a2asimulations.com/ Jason D, using P3Dv5 and DCS Intel Core i9-9900K @ 3.6GHz, nVidia GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, 32GB RAM, Oculus Rift S
November 9, 201114 yr Here's my quick list based on those that I currently have:(In alphabetical order)-Aerosoft Diamond DA20-100 Katana 4X (The most all-around realistic GA aircraft I have for FSX.)-BayTower RV-7 (still in Beta but available for purchase)-Carenado C-185 Bush versions-Iris F-16D-Iris A-10-FeelThere ERJ-135/145-Lionheart Creations Quest Kodiak-Orbx LancairThe majority of my flying is done with non-airliner types of airplanes. November 9, 201114 yr I have pretty small collection yet, but here are few good ones:-Aerosoft Catalina X-Lionheart Quest Kodiak-JustFlight DC-3-JustFlight Connie-Warbirdsim P-51D (little light in systems detail, but models are outstanding and they fly beautifully)
November 10, 201114 yr Flight1 BN2 Islander. This is the single most atmospheric plane I know. There is just something about it that oozes atmosphere. The rattling of the plane when you take off, the beautiful modeling both inside and outside, the really great sounds, the good system simulation... Just love the plane to bits. I totally agree. It's the simplest of all the 'proper' payware sims, probably the easiest to fly, and utterly charming. Dog slow though...Ian
November 10, 201114 yr Your original list looks more like a "best airliners" listMaybe a second, "best GA aircraft" list would make sensewhich then might contain the offerings from RealAir, Flight1, and Carenado. My personal top-ten candidates (in no particular order):RealAir Scout, Marchetti and Turbine Duke.Flight1 Mustang and C182TCarenado Bonanza, Baron, and C337Lionheart Kodiak Bert
November 10, 201114 yr I would go for the Turbine & Piston Duke, Citation X v2 & NGX .. .. .. Possibly add the F1 PC12 as well .. ..G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron

November 12, 201114 yr Author Oh man, thiss will be a hard job getting it in the right order, top 5 is easy but the rest...
November 12, 201114 yr I think this one needs to be mentioned too : An't Airplanes- Tecnam Sierra LSA

November 12, 201114 yr Obviously a highly personal choice, but as far as airliners, the best are those that have well modeled fmc's. To fly a decent heavy realistically it must have vnav modeled correctly. In my hangar, pmdg, feelthere embraer, and lds are the only ones. Wilco airbus is the most glaring failure in this regard but qwings also comes up short. Even Pmdg's MD 11 FMCG has some quirks but I have learned to work around them. To fly a jet reliably you must make crossing restrictions realistically and without programmable vnav, it's a challenge. If you have any thoughts of vatsim, get an addon with a fully (not "lite") FMS.
November 13, 201114 yr 'Marcfourneau' Wilco airbus is the most glaring failure in this regard but qwings also comes up short. Even Pmdg's MD 11 FMCG has some quirksqwings also comes up short ? Could you please elaborate ? It always worked great here.. that I remember of..
