April 13, 201214 yr Well i bought it yesterday and so far am loving it! Not noticed any issues or performance problems yet, but I have only put about 30 minutes on it. Having owned other Carenados, I have to admit that while I appreciate the detail and realism of their aircraft, I can't help feeling that many of them lack that 'something' that makes me feel I'm flying a real aircraft. Maybe it's just me, dunno, but with the Realair Duke, I just can't stop flying her!! So to buy the C90, it would have to surpass Dukey by quite a margin, simply 'cos it's another twin. Looks like a potential new favourite alongside my Duke Turbine...though it is testament to the enduring quality of the latter that IMO the Carenado doesn't really outshine it in any area. That said, it does feel sufficiently different to be worth a look if GA twin turbine is your bag. Cheers! Iain
April 13, 201214 yr By the way Milviz just confirmed they are making a King Air on their Facebook page!! April 13, 201214 yr Yeah, strictly speaking it should be. As Bert said, you can just use the EADI, and that's legitimate, but our company has installed this EHSI on a couple of King Airs and it does come with a GS indicator (as do all HSI's really). I still consider this a bug and have filed a support ticket for it, along with the missing engine sounds, et al. But is it absolutely necessary to fly an ILS approach with? No, you can use the EADI. Well, IRL you want to have the vital info as close as possible to the ADI, so IF the EADI has a GS and LOC indication you use only this one as it reduces the necessary instrument scan workload! But of course it should be available on the HSI too. e.g. on the 767 you never use it as the map and the waypoints are displayed on the HSI but you can of course select the ILS mode

April 13, 201214 yr At least they didn't deny that it's a 350i.... Ya he deleted that when he realized he said it !! April 13, 201214 yr At least they didn't deny that it's a 350i.... I wonder if they will do a up the collins proline 21 with FMC it has? How long does MilViz take to put out a project, I'm not familiar with them, much... Yes, using the EADI is easier, as you and Bert suggested (I shot an approach to minimums last night using it and it sure is nice!). I just think the GS should be available on the HSI given that it is available IRL and has been available on other Carenado releases of similar types (i.e. this wouldn't be breakthrough coding to do it). Appreciate the help guys :).
April 13, 201214 yr Any ideas when this bird will show up in other stores? Like the Flightsim Store? I don´t have a credit card and Carenado only accepts those. Oliver Donner
April 14, 201214 yr Just like the grand kids, I see it, I want it, I buy it! It's a beautiful model but I'm having one small problem-- I can't get the engines started. I followed Carenado's Normal Procedures and even followed up with the RL Pilot's Operating Handbook but I can't get either engine to light off. It appears to be a fuel problem ( yes, I DID check the gas tank) because the starter turns up to 12% N2 but when I move the conditioner lever to low idle nothing happens. There is no fuel flow indicated and I don't hear the booster pumps whine. I have all the fuel system controls in their normal positions but don't seem to get any fuel flow. If I cheat the system and start up a different plane, then load the C90 the engines run but won't restart if shut down. This is my first turbo prop and I'm sure this is "Pilot Error". Anybody have an idea? I hope this post is appropriate, if not I apologize. Rick Bertz
April 14, 201214 yr Try pressing CTRL SHIFT F4 at the same time that should make sure the fuel is turned on, its probably a problem with a saved flight interfering. Cheers, Andy.

The more I read this thread, the more I regret I didn't rush instead to buy the Duke... ! I've even downloaded the Duke's POH, thankfully freely available on RealAir site to start understanding what I am supposed to do with the C90... So maybe we should do a switch, LOL ! If i had to give up every other payware plane I own but one (and I own a fair few!) it would be the Turbine Duke that I kept. It just feels right - a briliant plane from tail to nosecone. Cheers! I'll fly it until the King Air become useable. Maybe Carenado should be getting a small commission from Realair for pushing their product ! For me though and for others on this forum, it is the FSX bird I always come back to - my sim "comfort food" Enjoy her - I am sure you will. :) Oh! And to add - I would strongly recommend downloading and installing the excellent Duke Cockpit sound set by Bliksimpie (read the instructions carefully!) It improves pretty much the only area where the original was lacking. There should be a thread on it on here somewhere but the search function is being temperamental since the site update and I am 404ing every time I try to look it up for you! Cheers! Iain
