May 9, 201214 yr Back up the installed/activated components of the aircraft and all will be well into the future. This worked for mein the case of the PSS Dash 8 and FFS Saab 340.
May 9, 201214 yr And as far as i know they haven't mentioned anything about "simplifying" the BAe-Avro, which to me, is one step forward. I don't know how "simple" QW 757 is thou Regards Their motto is "Complexity, Simplified" - it isn't just a tag for the 757. I actually find that the 757 is modelled into great detail, it's just all the nitty gritty bits that aren't there. Could they do that :o Yes - although it wont have an effect if you already have it installed, and it's pretty unlikely since you've paid for a certain number of downloads and them removing that right can get them in boiling water. As for when you exceed the number of downloads, they're usually very friendly and give you more free of charge. Sam Nicholson - UK Only just got back in to flight simming and Avsim after a year or so - pardon me whilst I find my feet again!
May 10, 201214 yr I absolutely refuse to have my (continued) use of a product determined by someone else who can deactivate my purchase with a click of a mouse. They are just using the Flight1 wrapper, like a whole lot of other developers. Flight1 is around for many, many years and I never ever had any issue reactivating an installer. Aerosoft, PMDG, Flight1, ... they all use somekind of online activation. Same goes for Windows BTW. May 10, 201214 yr Same here, Egbert. While I understand and respect that people have their own worries, I have never had a problem about it. I love the Flight1 wrapper, have a lot of products bought with it (e.g. UTE, GE, LVLD, ASA320, etc) and I think it is a great solution. As for PSS, true the 777 installers disappeared for a long time, but I always make backup copies, so that is a non-existent problem for me. I have copied and saved all the folders and files PSS 777 installed in my FS9, so I can place it the sim at any moment. Speaking of this BeA/Avro to come, I am very glad developers still make their addons for FS9, but I have little interest in this particular aircraft. I eagerly support FS9 developers with my wallet but it s not bottomless, so I choose the products I am personally interested in. Anyway I am sure this product will be a success! :good:
May 10, 201214 yr Commercial Member Just activate the Flight1 wrapper once and backup the installer exe from the wrapper, problem solved. Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM
May 11, 201214 yr Just activate the Flight1 wrapper once and backup the installer exe from the wrapper, problem solved. All Flight1 products will not install properly with just the executable alone. You have to install from the wrapper. I tried using just the installer when I upgraded to Windows 7 and found without Flight1 none of the products would function properly. Mostly I got a visual model without the gauges. FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR

Definitely not my experience. Airsimmer A320, LDS 767, C441 Conquest, ATR-72, and some others all work fine without the wrapper for me (burned to CD backups). Guess YMMV. After reinstalling my OS I've tried to install iFly 737 from the executable and the plane doesn't function like it should be. By using the wrapper it creates a folder and key file which make the product "licensed" Their motto is "Complexity, Simplified" - it isn't just a tag for the 757. May 12, 201214 yr I believe that the executable only works if you have the license, that was installed with the first run of the wrapper, still in its proper location. Following a format/re-install the .exe wont work cos there is no longer any license. Also I believe that after "significant hardware changes" the same situation will occur. Running the wrapper confirms that you are who you say, that your pc is the registered one for that purchase, and installs the license, thereby allowing the .exe to run and the aircraft to install fully functional. If I am wrong in any of this I hope someone will quickly set the record straight.

May 13, 201214 yr Wow, it was just now that I've seen the video Coltrane linked in the first post. It's excellent! Not only does it feature a very nice looking aircraft, but also has a great mood. I especially enjoyed the part showing a Lufthansa Regional flight over Berlin. By the way in the features list I've seen 'animated pilots'. How are they animated? I have not noticed their movements in the video (though I may have missed it). I know it is just a detail, but I somehow love it. A great example is Digital Aviation Fokker, where the pilots seem to be talking to each other and even reach the OVH panel: All in all it looks like a great addon and now, after seeing the video, I am considering the purchase even though I am not a big fan of this plane. It may be one of the last high quality aircraft released for FS9. Let's hope I am utterly wrong.
May 13, 201214 yr It may be one of the last high quality aircraft released for FS9. Let's hope I am utterly wrong. I hope you are wrong as well my friend. I think there is still a bit more juice to be squeezed from FS9. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking? Anyway, This a/c looks great, And though I am not a fan of the real world a/c either, I will probably end up buying it if only to support people who are still around making stuff for FS9.
