99.9999999% of the people here will say "LevelD". I think differently, LevelD is living throughout the glory of the past, it's old, dated, ugly and the sound is hilarious even if it works good.

I'd give a look at Captain Sim's 767, their latest version (1.6) is superb, the model is far better than LevelD's and the systems are just there. Plus, there's the -200 -300 and -F models (even if there's additional cost).

Feel free to bash me now :Nerd:

I disagree with NaMco 100%

The Level D has much more accurate systems, the captain sim doesn't even remotely LOOK like a 767.

The cockpit is just a port over their 757,

it handles like a fighter jet,

stick with leveld .

If you want more realistic systems and flight dynamics, failures simulation, ground crew interaction, first officer call outs, FS2Crew support, and Angle of Attack training, get the Level D. If you want updated VC graphics and a virtual cabin, get the Captain Sim 767.

It may be old and dated, but it actually works better than most current models. If you want it to work... go with LevelD. Throw on the TSS soundset, and turn it up!

Isn't it 1.5?

Yes, you're right my mistake, it's up to version 1.5 now ;)

That's why most people say the LevelD is a 'better' plane, most never tried the last CS one which is WAY different from the release version. I stand by my post, LevelD had its days, now CS is a better 767 overall.

the captain sim doesn't even remotely LOOK like a 767.

Actually, it's quite the opposite. The LevelD model is nowhere near as accurate as the CS one. Engines, fans, details... all much poorer than CS's version. Most people only care about systems, so this isn't all that important, but to me is - I bought it all, not just the cabin :)

Actually, you only can rely on the opinion of real 767 pilots if its about flight characteristics. Its like some people who complained about the NGX reacting too fast even though, they never even have been in a (real) 737 cockpit yet.

I also like to add, that some people put "Cargo/PAX load" to 0% and fuel to 5%. No wonder their aircraft behave like an F-16.

Cannot say which one of the both is the better one but the 767 from Level-D should be okay. Almost everything is simulated there and you can get a soundpack from TSS (as far as i know)

And i'm giving up the "me against the world" thing, too much CS hatred in these forums anyway. It would never be the best one, even if it was Straight%20Face.gif

Take care and have fun with LD767, which is okay indeed.

I actually love their 737-100/200 and 707. No one else made those aircraft (oh, i forgot the tinmouse which is good too but has no VC) and they are just fun to fly !

Well, I don't hate CS, some of their stuff is not bad. My issue with them is their maintenance schedule.

The CS 767 was initially released in the fall of 2009. The 1.5 service pack was released in the fall of 2011; that’s my issue. So that’s the last time I buy anything from them, until they finish the product and give the paying customers some priority. Don't take peoples money and make them wait 2 years before they can use the product while you work on new projects.

The release strategy they used for 737 seemed to help, but again, even if its perfect, I won't buy it until they fix the other stuff I bought.

So to the OP, CS is an option, but proceed with caution. Do lots of research and search forums for discussion. As far as the levelD, yes it doesn't look fancy, but it's a reliable working product that was way ahead of anything else when it was released, and still is ahead of many current addons. You won't find many negative comments regarding LevelD.

Yeah, they launch too much stuff at once without finishing what has been released already. The 727 and 757 aren't done yet... Even the 737 needs some minor improvements to be complete.

That's the way they work, and i can't say i fully agree with that. This new 777 won't be ready before PMDG releases their own version i bet... They should finish up what they have done before launching themselves in a quest as big as a T7.

Level D is the best 767, CS makes "eye candy" planes which can get systems and fly dynamics improvements maked by users, like their 737-100 and 200

CS is not in the same league as the Level D but it is not bad either. The CS gives you a complete cabin and a fairly nice 3d model outside. The VC itself is a little bit inaccurate what you can see if you look at these pictures.

The CS eicas displays have not the right dimension (too high not wide enough) compared to the real one and the distance between the backup instruments and the captain's display units are to wide.
