Yes, mine runs at 4.7 and has changed the sim. But you still can't max everything, like water and sometimes density. Check out some of my recent vids. I can run pmdg Ngx at Orbx Melbourne fine. Fraps hardly any effect.

You need a good cooler and PSU though. Plus a good GPU

Enjoy!

Road traffic kills performance. At 50 percent you're just asking for disappointment. 20 or so is ok but I leave it off. As much as I like it not worth the performance hit.

Hi

I'm using a 4.6.

car traffic 12% (plenty)

air traffic 33% (mytaffic Lite)

lowx2 water

dense AG

clouds maxed (REXE)

cloud distance 70mi

orbx scenery NA CRM NRM PF

Pmdg 737 NGX

this is just rough idea.can't max everything, but this looks very good.

Not likely. I'll quote myself from another thread here:

"I did some experimenting last night. With all graphical, scenery, and weather settings maxed out running DX10 @ 2560x1440, (ground scenery shadows off but all other shadows on) and traffic @ 30% each GA & Airline (20% road, 10% for both boat types) @ default Friday Harbor in the trike the FPS never get below 100, usually around 150. Switch to a 3rd party plane like the Milviz C310 or the B55 and the FPS will drop to as low as ~30 but still get into the 60's and 70's often, averaging 40's and 50's. Worst case I saw @ KSEA in the NGX in rainy weather at night and the FPS was mostly in the 30's, dropping to the 20's on occasion. Still have to load UT2 and scenery addons, don't expect FSDT KJFK + Manhattan X & UT2 maxed out to provide super high FPS in the NGX, especially not when I finally enable the triple-screen config but I haven't tweaked the config file yet either so "maxed out settings" performance is by no means out of the question."

No, not if you want everything at or near max with a few addons. Default FSX, yeah that will run fairly fast but who wants default FSX minus a few settings?

nope, unfortunately 4.6Ghtz is not enough run FSX fully maxed out in all settings PLUS a bunch of addons...it'll run it nicely but you'll have to give up SOMETHING (such as turning ground traffic way down, or AI or both)...you should be pleased with it though...it will run just fine....get a video card with 2GIG's of ram on it as well.

Hey that's not true, If your nick is Fbass, and you have some Uber liquid cooled i7 980X(with 12 Cores) running at 3.3GHz two GTX570 GPU's(liquid cooled) unclocked. Then you can have pretty much everything maxed and 100% AI. And remember It's all about having plenty of RAM and SSD drives. :LMAO: The RAM Is really the key

Read all about It her http://forum.avsim.n...ai-traffic-why/ Read every post.

Im using a GeForce 670 OC. Im very happy with overall performance with the 3770k at 4.7 100% reliable, it's certainly made fsx enjoyable with gorgeous visuals and smooth flying. Dont get obsessed with 'maxing' everything, it looks incredible at second highest for autogen. Sometimes max autogen looks silly. I also use the dreaded UTX/gex USA in new York and it runs fine.

I have my 37770k @ 4.5 ghz , unfortunately I have a msi 6970 card & I think its destroying my fsx experience, photo scenery for UK struggles to stay clear as does all my usa orbx scenery , I gave lucid mvp a try today , not convinced it made any difference to rendering the scenery , fps I have locked at 30 , without lucid fps dances 29.9 to 30 all the time with lucid on it drops a couple , weird .

I have been looking at the 580, 670 , & the 680 cards but can't make a clear decision.
