Need New weather?

Just install the REX textures, or any textures you wish to use (e.g. AS, FEX, or the free HDv2) and that's it !

The OpusFSX LWE does not need to determine anything, FSX decides on what bitmap images to use for everything (no software can decide that), when you install the textures all you are doing is copying the bitmap images into the FSX Texture folder for FSX to select, load and use.

Hello, Stephen........well, Sir, I've got to say it - BRAVO!!!! I've used AS2012 for quite a while, and somehow you have managed what 3 different versions of AS could not do - make a TRUE overcast, so that it does not rain from a sunny sky. Again I say - BRAVO!!!! The program works flawlessly, and is laser fast.

Just amazing - so - thank you very much. Can't wait to see where you take us!!

Quick question: to get your NGX camera files, do I go to Flight1 or your own website? Thanks.

Best of luck to you - I think you've got the next big thing for FSX.

All best,

Ray Landolt (Blackbird)

P.S. - how do i know what version of Opus I am running? Was looking for the version number on it while it's running, but did not see it.

Thank you.

Many thanks Ray.

You can get the CAM file from the downloads page of our website but make sure you read the instructions.

The version number is displayed on the caption line at the top of the program's main form.

Reading what others say I think tonight (after work) I'll buy your product Stephen. Hope I won't use the money back option and find the definitive answer to the FS weather problems after all the money spent on other addons!

What I'd like to know from you is whether the new features you're planning will come as updates or will be at additional cost.

Thanks.

Is anybody using OPUS without 3rd party textures.? what does the opus weather look like?

If we have to use rex textures then basically we are buying a weather engine and cameras?

this is not a critisism as what price is great weather when your into simming all your life but was just wandering is rex an AS about to become a necessary add on with OPUS

ZORAN

Zoran,

You can use stock FSX cloud textures as well as any 3rd party cloud texture packages (AS - FEX - ...) including freeware ones such as HDE v2. OpusFSX doesn't rely on them, it's just that it will look more or less realistic.

Hi Jean-Paul

Many thanks.

Hi Zoran et al.

At present, ALL future upgrades will be totally free of charge (we are not ruling out developing another entirely new product for FSX/P3D), but I can definitely say that there will be no charge for all the OpusFSX upgrades; and yes, use whatever textures you like the freeware HDEv2 ones and the payware FEX HD are both highly recommended.

O kay thanks for the feed back, time to clear the moths from wallet

It uses rexs textures because Rex replaces all the default cloud sets.

Btw, what theme would you guys recommend for use with opus?

I read post 76. Fsx is using the bmp files which Rex replaces. Isn't that what I said?

Thanks Stephen, count me in.

As for the textures guys, why do you get so confused?

Weather and quality of textures are two entirely different things! Weather softwares (AS, REX, Opus) have nothing to do with textures. They simply "tell" the FS the baro pressure, how many clouds and what kind of clouds to use and how the winds blow at various locations and altitudes. It's the FS that depicts those clouds according to the textures that it finds in the textures folder. Therefore whatever textures are in there, these will be shown in your screen. If you have the default ones your clouds will look less good that the ones that come from an HD package, however the weather experienced will be identical as it is provided by the same weather engine.

Hi Omni

See post 83 above. You can use whatever sky and cloud textures you want. They are just eye candy and do not affect the operation of the OpusFSX LWE.
