ImagineSim KATL FSX

Featured Replies

They are two different games....I don't see how that is something that should even be questioned. Now, if they had like a FSX base version, and then charged for the FSX SP2 version, I would have to agree....but that is two separate games, with two separate needs to run smooth.

It leaves a bad taste in my mouth also. Yes two different platforms but not that far off where they charge full price for both versions. That's the only reason I won't but it. When they first start introducing their products we got both platforms at one price. Even though I did fly to alot of their airports I still supported them because they supported both platforms for one price. Even Aerosoft ask for a small amount if I purchased a FS9 airport that they developed for FSX, which I felt they more than deserved and they wasn't asking full price for same thing. TRhats why I will support aerosoft, FSDT and others that realize that were all In this hobby together and we should support one another, not try to over charge it's loyal customer base.

Frame rates even in the FS2004 demo version are terrible. My i7 oc'd to 4.0 and a GTX 260 only gets me 17fps with the old Aerosim L-1011 with everything maxed and no AI present.

Very gun shy about buying this and I have both FSX and FS9 v2 KATL from them.

Just posted some shots here for those interested.

Thanks for making my decision soooo much easier. So basically imaginesim is asking us to pay full price to upgrade to v2, for only a marginally improved product that's not even up to par with what other developers are delivering. No thanks.

I'm sure they think they're making more money with this decision, but I'm sure I'm not alone. Why hurt your existing customer base? They couldn't even change the policy now without upsetting those that did end up buying both versions.

Just got it installed... I really like it. Crisp ground textures and very nice modelling of the terminals! Nice job ImagineSim!

I bought KATL for FSX only two months ago... I won't be happy if I need to pay full price to get the new version.

I'm disappointed ImagineSim isn't offering an upgrade price to their customers who purchased this scenery for FSX. It is unfortunate to some, including me, that some decide to purchase it without an upgrade price, but freedom is a beautiful thing.

I'm happy I can fly around in an accurately modeled 20 million dollar Boeing 737NG into a remarkably done major airline hub, both for the price of a tank of gas in my truck. The gas is gone after a week, but the aircraft and airport remain for many hours of enjoyment.

Thanks, ImagineSim.

I an another former customer who bought the older version a few months ago. I cannot help but feeling like I have been ripped off.

Just about every pice of software I have ever purchased has offered either a free or a significantly reduced priced upgrade to anyone who has purchased in the past year.

As for any financial problems experienced by Imagine Sims, I am not overll sympathetic. I have not contriibuted to those problems. To the contrary, I have played by the rules and purchased their product. Stupid me!

No way I'm buying it twice.

And there's so little difference between the two versions.

The quality isn't the best I've seen in scenery design anyway.

No thanks. Unbelievable.

So what that it cost you less than a tank a gas? It's the feeling of getting ripped off that's the problem. I don't see why people want to defend their stance.

Of course its your right to buy whatever you want. I'll gladly vote with my wallet and stay away.

They have shot themselves in the foot for not offering free or reasonable upgrade price for exising users. They will never recieve another dollar from me.

That's what people keep saying for years, and they remain in business nonetheless. I will buy their new KATL at some point even if I won't get a discount. They are a small development group and I'd rather see them stay alive then die out. They are seriously one of thew developers out there doing American hubs and we can sure use more of those!

Ok, now I'm confused. My old version already reads V2. Edited. Well, I've named the folder that way, lol. I don't actually know why.

As for the discount, I would have liked some symbolic 'we appreciate you as an existing customer' value. It's not so much about saving tons of money then. You know, just the thought that counts. Well, please report how the new version does. I was, still am, ok with the old one.

That's the point I was trying to make with the old gas tank analogy. If I have to pay a little 'extra' (from the Latin meaning getting ripped off as some people interpret it) I'm OK with that. It won't bankrupt me and it keeps them in business. I also 'donate' 5 bucks a tile for BlueSky photoscenery hoping it will keep them in business as well.
