April 21, 201313 yr My issues: 1. Spot view looks awful. Completely different from all my other planes; 2. Sound on spot/wingview extremely underwhelming; 3. AP randomly disconnects; 4. Camera shakes from time to time even when the aircraft is parked (I'm using EZDOK). 5. No way to get it Cold & Dark easily; 6. Tutorial is not nearly good enough; Good addon besides that, but, honestly, didnt expect all those problems. April 21, 201313 yr hi, will this work with dx10? do ezdock cams work? thanks regarding the sound problems... i don´t see what a 7.1 setup in windows has to do with it.. most users would utilize a 2.0 setup anyway (maybe 2.1 with subwoofer added)
April 21, 201313 yr Same problem here. About 10-15 min after starting preparing the bird from cold and dark and I am ready to start engines og some times also during taxi the sound stops. The strange thing was that this did not happen the first flight I took (tutorial from CYZD-CYUL). But every time after that. It seems there's at least a few of us all with the same problem. Hopefully things can get sorted out. For now though, on to life outside FSX. Eric Szczesniak

April 21, 201313 yr Hmm... i like to share my feeling and ask if anybody else have similar. For last 2 hours i did only take-offs and landings, and... - none of my landing was soft and silky. It is difficult to pitch nose up, and it looks like just 50ft above runway plane is falling down like a rock. I was trying different flap setting, different speeds, trimming - no success, in my case there is no way to land this bird softly. What can be wrong?, does anybody experience the same ? Artur
April 21, 201313 yr Ok, has anyone given this a try using FSUIPC to assign axes, sending them direct to FSX? Or do I need to actually assign an axis in FSX? I haven't actually assigned any joystick in FSX at this point and would love to do it through FSUIPC if possible. +1 I asked that already before but got no answer... Hello, I assigned the Axis using FSUIPC together with my HOTAS WARTHOG/Saitek Combat Rudders: -> made Axis Assignment Aircraft specific -> then marked for each Axis "Send to FS as normal Axis" -> assigned the appropriate FSX "Axis ..." command (SimSamurai FSUIPC Tutorial is always a good start: http://fsuipc.simflight.com/beta/SIMSAMURAI+FSUIPC+TUTORIAL.pdf) Axis calibration or tuning could then be done with the Q400 setup Programm (maybe you have to reload the plane first ... had this issue when I assigned the spoiler axis to the tiller). Only thing I am now fiddling is the reverser setting ... have to try some different settings to tune this. Just did a short test flight (tried tutorial until airborne) and most things look very impressive so far Now I am just looking for a solution to access the CL Axis ... because the Hotas WT has no axis left ... anyone any idea - maybe via keyboard macro keys for the different CL status but I could not find appropriate key bindings so far. Look at the speed tables for Flaps 35, and set up your speed bugs for them. Be at V REF within minimums and flare when you are about 50 feet above the runway and idle throttles, although don't let it stall. I have also read that in real life, the Dash 8 is a hard plane to land, so this may be realistic. April 21, 201313 yr I hope the AVSIM staff don't mind, but I thought it would be useful, now that the MJC Dash 8 Q400 has been released, to split out all of the post-release discussion and content from the pre-release content in the other thread. Feel free to merge if you prefer guys! So IT'S OUT and first impressions are EXTREMELY GOOD at my end! - VC is just breath taking - Sounds are just breaktaking - FDE is just breathtaking ........get the idea? .......it seems like a game changer to me. The terrain radar itself is worth the price of admission. Here's a quick pic of my FlyBe Q400 in the runway at EGNT:- For me, nothing is FSX currently beats this aircraft. How about the weather radar, is it breathtaking, as well ?
April 21, 201313 yr Commercial Member Ryan, How are you? I hope that you are enjoying The Q4. Thanks for pointing this out. I will have a look at it and pass it on to oly to see if there may be an underlying problem Simeon Doing well - congrats on your release! Thanks for taking a look at the issue. April 21, 201313 yr Agree, this is a fantastic aircraft so far. I am also noting the FMS issues Ryan pointed out. I flew a departure out of KFLL 09L and the aircraft did not follow the points as depicted/loaded in the FMS with LNAV & autopilot engaged. It instead made a sweeping turn to the left on course, ignoring two of the loaded points. Also, having the severe lack of elevator in the flare, and auto pilot not trimming the aircraft well issues too. The only other major issue I've noticed is in the icing modeling. Flying in central/southern FL this afternoon. In rain with SAT of +28c and ice detected/depicted?!?!? This is not realistic. A good general rule for airframe icing is +8-10c degrees and below with visible moisture. This applies until about -45c to -50c where icing becomes unlikely, as its too cold. There are a few different rules for induction icing however. Might be worth looking into... -Jason Peters, MSgt, USAF Ret.Charter Pilot (SIC). April 21, 201313 yr Nathan, Thx for ur answer. Maybe u are right that this bird is not easy to land, but movies i have seen shows perfectly smooth landings ( flightlevel350.com ). I have tried all flap settings, also i am keeping speed close to table ones. Artur
April 21, 201313 yr The only issue I've had with her so far is that occasionally during taxi the aircraft will start to bounce. Little bits at first, then it is launched high into the air like a bouncy-ball. It is comical, but slightly annoying. Elijah HoytCFI, CFII, CMEL, CSEL, CSES, IFR
April 21, 201313 yr BTW anyone have suggestions to how your programming your condition levers if you dont have an independent lever setup? I have everything setup through FSUIPC. Are you all just using the mouse? But I dont see a good way to implement it. X52 setup Actually if you are using TrackIR, the condition levers don't work bad with the mouse. You really don't have to move them that much anyway. I have mine set up with my CH throttle quadrant in FSUIPC . Robert Yunque
April 21, 201313 yr Couldnt agree more. So in depth and I have to use Shift E. Really?? Im sure they will address this.
