Level D 767 - would you still rate it in 2013?

Featured Replies

Well we have had some delays due to personal serious rlw matters (development time feels almost like light years lol)

but our 757 is the first to release and will have all the nice 2013 stuff and more and to be the most complete 757 simulation ever for desktop simulation ;-)

Amazing the amount of development hours are already put into this one...

The 767 well the bird is very special so time will tell :-)

This is absolutely brilliant news. Can't wait to see the 757!

I hope we could see some preview pictures of the 757 at some point, would be really nice to see how the project looks like now. I've always wanted to have a proper 757 simulation, after all it's my favourite airplane and the type I've flown on by far the most as I've been on a lot of holiday charter flights operated by Finnair's 757s, such as the one in my profile pic.

I really hope we could see LDS 757 within next year or two, already kinda lost hope when it was all so quiet about the project. Great to hear the project is still going on.

Sounds like the LVL-D 757 will be out sometime this year. Very good news. Well be curious if they model the fuel flow based on the winglet model. Hope so as I will want to take it on some TATL routes (can't let the PMDG 777 have all the fun).

The systems are there, the detail isn't.

With that being said, I shelled out the 15$ for the fsx upgrade when I started swimming again after 5 years. Totally worth it and u still love to fly it.

Flighr1 offers a 30 money back guarantee, so give it a shot for yourself and see what you think. Just don't judge a book by its cover. :)

It's like stepping into your favourite pair of old shoes. You just know you're going to feel comfortable.

Unsurpassed for its age.

Very well put.

Guys, let's slow down about the 757. I'd hate for everyone to get their hopes up for a 2013 release only to get upset when it doesn't roll out for 18 more months.

We've all gotten overly excited once or twice only to get hurt and upset. Let's spare us the misery, shall we?

I loved it back in the day. Even did an add on crew soundset which lives on to this day over In the library on avsim. - Captain Hall & Crew, which brought a bit of colour to the crew voices. My personal favourite was the sound of a baby crying and rushing air I added to the 'decompression' wav from the cabin!

Andre's add on textures are a must have and the replacement VC set over on simmarket is also pretty good but sadly with stuff like the Q400 and the NGX around, it's not one that floats my boat anymore. The VC is just soo 2005, from a time when many people were still flying the 2D panel.

I hope the 757 sees the light of day while the 757 itself is still around!

I thought the 757 was something that would never arrive!!

From a real world pilot stand point, the 767 is very nice. Yes it would be awesome if the graphics were up to date, but it performs and handles well. Add the fs2crew voice command and you get immersion. Even in the real world jets I fly, i spend very little time looking at the overhead panel except for the preflight, after start, and shut down flow. I guess the quality of an aircraft all depends on what you are looking for. Being real world, I'm big into flight dynamics, performance and avionics. There are some eye candy aircraft out there that lack avionics, flight dynamics, and aircraft performance. So many times I've bought aircraft and had to tweak them to get them to fly by the numbers. Even the excellent NGX threw me for a loop in its landing and stall performance. After i pointed out that the charts used for approach and landing pitch(unreliable airspeed), carried extra speed for safety margin, they fixed it. Bottom line, the Leveld sim 767 works and it does it very well. The level 767 reminds me of the C-141B, that I flew long ago. The panels were old 60s technology with dirt and peeling paint. The airconditioning smelled of moldy oatmeal and engine exhaust. But that 141 did it's job very well and I flew it all over the world. I keep the 767 in my hanger because its the closest thing i can get to flying a 767 and operating it as such.

Well Rick the 767 base is developed by a real world 767 pilot and a lot of RLW ATPL pilots on the beta team.

It's all about simulating a complex airliner in a realistic manner.

Talked a lot with my oldest son (now 22 years old) which has now his ATPL and 737NG type rating

with the famous blue airline from our country...

We see it a bit different what is realistic and what not ;-)

No matter who it might hurt, i always stress out the truth in my opinions. That's why i receive some critics from time to time from more sensitive people :D :D

.....they're not 'sensitive people'    - just people who see through your epic FS related mood swings and 'love-HATE' (serious hate, when you really get worked up ) relationship with almost all products released into the hobby.

Ooh a LVLD 757... Me want! The B757 is quite a fast jet as those big pax haulers go!

I want one too. I have retired my LDS767 the graphics is truly dated.

Yeah I remember that thread where you posted about the plane landing "hot" I remember I thought you were wrong .. Backing away from thread now LOL... BTW have you tried the Q400 yet?

I still have the 767, and I think it is one of the best planes of all time made for flight simulator. However, with the newer PMDG aircraft, and a couple of others, it just doesn't do the trick any more, and I've been thinking about parking it in the desert. Outdated graphics, bad sound by the modern standards. I especially don't like those sticky, barely functional MCP dials. It was the best plane of it's time, and I can't think of any that had such a long lifespan, but I do believe that time has passed, sadly. Yet, somehow I still keep it around, despite having not flown it in ages.

I finally uninstalled mine for the final time yesterday. I just don't fly it, mainly because of the graphics.

While systems are important to me, so is how everything looks because I crave immersion. A flat 2D overhead and FS9 era textures doesn't immerse me in much.

That said, I have put over 50% of my simming hobby hours in that plane.

It was great when it came out, but times change and newer products emerge.
