We're bound to have this by August at the latest really.

Other than that, excellent previews there Rob! Really cannot wait to fly this!

The tutorial is always the last big check on the list.  My guess is any delays will be due to the incredibly advanced tutorial that Ryan is compiling.

Hmm, yeah, except those came AFTER release of both the MD11 and NGX.

Sorry for quoting myself: "A working VNAV? Finally???"

That's because PMDG actually knows what they are doing...

looks really good! attention to detail? On the pedestal picture either the shear wire was missed...or the airline doesn't believe in the use of it! ;) lol. looks awesome though guys! can't wait!

Can you clarify what it is you're talking about with this? I looked back at our survey photos and I don't see any obvious differences between the sim and the real aircraft there.

A technie question, ti control all the dimmers is that the storm function that wasnt present on your previous planes?

Not sure what you're asking exactly here.

Very very nice! Eventhough I hardly have time to fly longhauls, this will be a must-buy for me for sure! Guess I'll be doing a lot of short/medium-haul cargo flights with the -200F.

2 questions if I may:

1. Will the -200F come with highloaders like the -400F? If so, can you please make them somewhat animated? Would be great to see those containers go into that big hull

2. Is it possible to deliver the 777 with a PFPX-performance file? According to some posts on the PFPX forum, it will be plain .txt files. I suppose if PMDG would contact the PFPX dev they could work something out?

1. No loader animations unfortunately - the aircraft model itself is right at the limit of what we can do already regarding animations without trying to add stuff like that. You should be able to do it externally with addons like GSX or AES though.

2. PFPX already has a 777-200LR performance file that comes from the Boeing data, should work fine with ours. There's nothing special about the PMDG version vs, that, we made ours with the same Boeing data.

Rob: can you tell me what camera did you guys use to take the pictures from the real one and how much pictures do you have?

Canon 5D Mark II. There's a ridiculous number of photos in total, thousands.

Is the middle display unit touchable?

Yes, this will be previewed specifically with video later on.

Ok, i feel a little bad to mention this. Mainly because not many would have ever noticed. But as i unterstand PMDG's standards this may be "helpful" in a way:

In the fourth preview-pic one can see that there's the exact same scratch pattern on both of the yokes (where the charts are put).

I think that PMDG is to look after such things so i was quite irritated when i noticed this.

So please not to much blame on me.

Nice plane btw! :P

See here's something people aren't understanding - there's simultaneously people complaining about resource usage and then at the same time people complaining about texture optimizations like this. To have every surface in the airplane use 100% unique textures would send the texture memory usage through the roof. Careful use of mirroring and stuff like this is part of how we try to optimize the load and keep it within a reasonable level of usage. This won't be changing nor will other examples of it you might be able to find if you look closely enough. This is a simulation, not a real aircraft.

PMDG, and Rob especially, have voiced that they are usually quite concerned about the resource usage for their aircraft in FSX with it's 32-bit limitations. I would be surprised if the plane was cripplingly intensive on resources, that's not how PMDG do things.

We can't completely comment on this until the very end because there's still a lot of extra debug stuff running in the code that gets taken out before the release version. That said, I do not think the 777 performs any worse than the release NGX currently nor am I experiencing any OOMs or anything like that with it. I've been able to fly it into some very detailed sceneries (Flightbeam's stuff, FlyTampa Dubai, Orbx etc) and it's been fine.

The tutorial is always the last big check on the list.  My guess is any delays will be due to the incredibly advanced tutorial that Ryan is compiling.

We don't have "delays" here because there is no set release date we're trying to meet. Things happen when they happen and that's that. That said, the tutorial is not what's taking up development time right now.

The missing rudder pedals was an animation/part export error that wasn't caught initially in the version of the airplane that was used to make the screenshots. Already fixed this morning in the next version.

Great to hear that Ryan, thanks a lot for the clarification, and well done for your great job with the 777.

Time and Eternity

One dignity delays for all,

One mitred afternoon.

None can avoid this purple,

None evade this crown.

Coach it insures, and footmen,

Chamber and state and throng;

Bells, also, in the village,

As we ride grand along.

What dignified attendants,

What service when we pause!

How loyally at parting

Their hundred hats they raise!

How pomp surpassing ermine,

When simple you and I

Present our meek escutcheon,

And claim the rank to die!

- Emliy Dickinson

Very much looking forward to the release

If there only was a 2D panel... :(

Second that :(
