July 3, 201312 yr The problem with P3D is that LM can remove public availability whenever they please. I have an inkling of an idea that when P3D V2.0 is released, it will be done with a change in the EULA, opening up a very interesting future for simming. July 3, 201312 yr Go and fly the A10 over at DCW. 64 bit smooth as butter and never a CTD!!! I run FSX just as smooth as DCS, Flight, ROF etc etc, Alltough in the NGX(the only plane left to run 100% smooth) It isn't perfect. But flying GA it's 100% stutter and lag free just like any other game out there..

I Don't use higher LOD radius than 4.5(high LOD radius is the most common cause of OOMs) But when flying GA I run "fully loaded" but don't get OOMs. When you get OOM you are pushing your system beyond it's limits and it's your own fault...

"I never get OOM"you never had an OOM? lol, good luck to you but I just couldn't fly with my sliders at 50% just to avoid the odd oom, the wow factor from 95 out of 100 successful flights is the reason Im ORBX, PMDG, REX, Aerosoft etc How cares about GA stutters? they are non existent in High end systems. Your flying low end then yes, do what you have to do, all sliders left. ZORAN
July 3, 201312 yr I would like to disagree on that one. If i remove BP=0 and Affinetymask 14 from my .cfg file I will get alot of stutter and my frames would drop, and I will have to lower my settings to achive the same performance, so for me this affmask "bloatware" and bufferpool tweak is a miracle cure  Precisely! Okay NickN seems to deride BP=0... so tell me why it works VERY well for me, and many others? Strange is it not? If I fly around in clear weather, BP=0 doesn't seem to make much difference. However, when I fly around in heavy REX weather, I see a BIG increase in performance and virtually no stutters.
July 3, 201312 yr I read all of these posts with a ton of bewilderment. I have an Intel i7 990 Extreme running at 3.47ghz. It has 12gb of DDR memory. It has an NVidia GeForce GTX 460. It's running Win7 64bit Pro I can run FSX without any of these tweaks. Don't use a one. Here are my settings: Graphics - Screen Resolution: 1920x1080x32 Filtering Trilinear Antialiasing: checked Global Texture Resolution: Very High Preview DirectX 10: unchecked Lens flare: checked Light bloom: unchecked Advanced animations: checked Aircraft - Global settings Medium High High-resolution 3-D virtual cockpit: checked Aircraft casts shadows on ground: checked Aircraft casts shadows on itself: unchecked Aircraft landing-lights illuminate ground: checked Scenery - Global settings: Custom All of the sliders are full right. Land detail textures: checked Ground scenery shadows: unchecked Weather - Global settings: Ultra High Cloud draw distance: 60mi Cloud detail: Detailed clouds Cloud coverage density: Maximum Traffic - Airline: 20% GA: 20% Airport vehicle: Medium Road vehicles: 20% Ships and ferries: 40% Leisure boats: 40% I have frames set to unlimited and sitting on 34R at KSEA in the virtual cockpit of the Eaglesoft Citation X v2 I see 30fps. That's no tweaking of any kind. None. If you're having to overclock and do all manner of crazy stuff to see this performance... it might just be your computer has issues... but hey, go ahead and blame the one item that's identical between your system and mine. What payware scenery and airports have you got installed when you did the testing at ksea I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg

I can induce an OOM easy by raising the LOD radius and flying into complex scenery with the NGX. My point is OOMs can be avoided If you are careful not to push FSX's limits. When I fly the NGX I useally have lower settings to get as much smoothnes as I can anyway so they are low enough not to induce any OOMs How cares about GA stutters? they are non existent in High end systems. Your flying low end then yes, do what you have to do, all sliders left. Oh beleive me there is alot of stutter flying into detailed Orbx airports with GA planes without tweaking for me... And I consider my system High End. I have my sliders to the right when flying GA, extremely dense autogen etc etc. But to be able to have such high settings the tweaks are essential..
July 3, 201312 yr I can honestly say, in all the years I have been simming, I have NEVER had an OOM. I guess it's down to personalities. Some individuals are more reckless than others. Some push to the max, some are more realistic.
July 3, 201312 yr Than I guess you didn't get cyvr from fsdteam airport when it first came out using orbox scenry than your sure would have gotten one I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
July 3, 201312 yr  No Pete, I didn't. There isn't much I ever get in terms of scenery to be honest. I'm an "in the cockpit" kind of simmer.
July 3, 201312 yr Than I guess you didn't get cyvr from fsdteam airport when it first came out using orbox scenry than your sure would have gotten one I have FSDT CYVR and Vancouver v3+ in Orbx land, and I fly there with the NGX without any OOM's..... -_-

July 3, 201312 yr Than you must be 1 of the lucky one than when it first came out Well I guess I was then, but I also manage my settings to avoid OOM's. I don't push the LOD radius higher than 4.5 and don't have extremely dense autogen when flying the NGX(I use Normal and Dense autogen settings depending on where I fly the NGX) Having lower autogen settings when flying the NGX doesn't bother me because I don't see that autogen at high flight levels anyway, and when Im on approach Im to busy handling the plane to notice that there isn't huge amounts of autogen... When flying GA I can't live without having extreme autogen because then I will notice some textures that miss some autogen and it will ruin my expirience low and slow..
