August 18, 201312 yr I've been saving for the Mustang. If I can get only one, which? It seems like maybe performance is a bit better for this one, but what about the VC and other features compared to the Mustang?
August 18, 201312 yr For those sim pilots that want to enjoy total emission in flying a Super King Air B200 sim, the Flight 1 B200 provides that within the realm of an “Entertainment” category sim. This is accomplished with most of the systems being operational. A code rewrite now provides full Beta function during taxing – a first for King Air sims to date. Not unlike a RW light twin with light systems, i.e. no cabin pressurization, oxygen system, working deice/anti-ice, etc., the more complex RW King Air Class requires more support. Flight 1’s development team is online daily providing support for the Flight 1 B200 and providing answers and corrective actions within the possibility of the FSX SDK and as an "Entertainment" category sim. Are you seeing that elsewhere for King Air sims? Russ
August 18, 201312 yr I've been saving for the Mustang. If I can get only one, which? It seems like maybe performance is a bit better for this one, but what about the VC and other features compared to the Mustang? There both fantastic planes and yes it does seem like the performance is a little better on the KA. I fly both on a pretty regular basis and it would be hard to choose. The speed for both are real close, both VC's are very nice and sharp, so I guess it depends on if you want a small jet or turbo prop. Can't go wrong with either..... Cheers Martin
August 18, 201312 yr I'd go king air. The glass is much better (on my system ) than in their Mustang. The performance is oddly close too with the Blackhawk mods. More features on the KA than mustang. SP1 coming soon to address a few remaining issues. Yep king air all the way. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
August 19, 201312 yr The Cessna Mustang is a great hand flyer as are the Carenado King Airs. The Flight 1 King Air is not a good hand flyer at this point, if that is something you're looking for. Thrust / drag and speed numbers seems good; adverse yaw from aileron roll, rudder required to counter adverse yaw, and turn and slip indicatiion in the Flight 1 KA is really poorly done. Is that something addressed in the forums for the update? G1000, appearance in and out, auto pilot ops, RNAV, systems seem excellent from limited testing, but handling really stands out as odd. If you like hand flying and doing classic radio navigation and approaches, the Carenados are much better. If you like G1000, GPS type approaches, autopilot, some extra speed, and some additional system modelling and some bennies like wear and tear, and maintenance management, then Flight 1. edit: after reading the entire thread, Ryan and King already mentioned the coordination issue ad nauseum. Hopefully they fix it....
August 19, 201312 yr How does it compare to the Real Air Duke (apart from the difference in avionics)? I don't have that one yet either.
August 19, 201312 yr @Barfly... Ya they specifically said it will be addressed in the sp. @MarkSC... I love the T duke. Climbs faster than this plane for a little while. But then the king air smokes the duke because VMO is 198 kias on the duke. Service ceiling is higher on the king air. Other than that obviously T duke can accept RXP and there are fairly recent NAV updates but the KA uses navigraph support which is real handy. Both will fly WAAS approaches (US only) under APR mode if desired. I really enjoy both of them and looking forward to the SP for the KA. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
August 19, 201312 yr Ryan, how often are you on vatsim? We should take the KA's out one day. Chase Barnett
September 29, 201312 yr I really with they would make an Analog Panel for this King Air... I have no fun flying a G1000, just not for me, but the King is an amazing plane! Ditto. Just never got into the whole Garmin experience. Old school, I guess. EDIT: Just realized I now stand guilty of 1st degree thread necromancy.
September 30, 201312 yr I saw this video on the benefits (although being presented very enthusiastically) of a G1000 retrofit. It always amazes me what this thing can do in the real plane. By this, I applaud to the F1 renditions but I also note that we could need a new sim allowing for that kind of gauge detail. It's a bit long but offers plenty of rw G1000 screen impressions to literally gauge. Also saves you reading the rw docs to catch a glimpse. EDIT: Just realized I now stand guilty of 1st degree thread necromancy. Nah.
September 30, 201312 yr LOL. Your video convinced me to try the F1 B200. Maybe I can outgrow my old-school tendencies like these old-timers
September 30, 201312 yr Let us know how it works out. One can view that video in at least two ways. First, a G1000 is cool. B) Second, our current FSX renditions lack of some detail. But I would be surprised if the F1 plane turns out to be boring or otherwise flawed. Even if this was the case, one can return it of course.
September 30, 201312 yr Too bad Flight1 doesn't feature the Synthetic View. That would be so cool! Alexis Mefano
October 1, 201312 yr Too bad Flight1 doesn't feature the Synthetic View. That would be so cool! That would be everything out the window in FSX. Might get it after the SP. C.
