November 1, 201312 yr Commercial Member Last weekend I flew from Athens to Sydney with PMDG 777-200LR, it was a nice 17 hour flight. Now I'm going to take off from Sydney in a couple of hours and fly back to Athens, will sleep around 10 hours of the flight time and probably spend some more of it while reading for exams. Probably I will do some European 737NGX flight from Athens later this weekend...
November 1, 201312 yr Just started think about this question. I'm flying something to somewhere at some point but I'm not sure what will happen. I'm thinking CYUL to MDPC in the QW757. I really want to get some time in the Twin Otter (bought the extended version last week), but I think I need a longer flight so I can set the AP and spend time with the boss. November 1, 201312 yr Commercial Member spending some time in Florida at Pensacola (Thank you Jim Dhaenens) with T-2 Buckeye Funny, as I've just acquired the T-2, and with that and the new version of Dino's F-14, I've reinstalled all my NAS / AFB scenery. However, I also recently picked up the Cerasim UH-60 - I've been flying that almost exclusively this week (with all the Navy repaints) and probably will put a few more hours on it this weekend. But my primary weekend flying plans is with the new version of the DC-3 over at SOH. I just finished a Canadian Coast Guard (C-FDTH) repaint for it, so I'll be flying that around a few coastal areas getting a feel for the plane (have yet to actually fly it, been too busy painting it) and getting some nice screenshots to accompany the eventual upload. ^_^ Jim Stewart Milviz Person.
November 1, 201312 yr California (UTX/GEX) in Manfred Jahn's DC-3, and Papua New Guinea (PacSim) in the A2A C172.
November 1, 201312 yr Will start up Google Earth tomorrow morning and explore all my airport addons which I've marked. Probably it will be a short European flight in the PMDG 737 from my homebase EHAM to a nice sunny destination. Mmm... I think one of the Greek islands will do. Sunday it will by a non flyable day for me, have to work. Enjoy your weekend! ======================== HAPPY FLYING Raymond
November 2, 201312 yr I've been having a play around working on some equipment mods to the Coolsky DC-9 (basically adding a basic FMC), and some additional sounds, so I'm going to fly some Everts Air routes this evening, DC-9 passenger runs, probably from Anchorage to places like Bethel, Barrow, Galena, maybe even a run out to King Salmon. After that, I'll fly the new JF DC-8 but I like to fly current operators of the type, and I haven't quite found any real world DC-8 airlines or routes to fly yet..... Have a great weekend people! Can you share your DC-9 mods? As for real DC-8 routes, the last in America, Air Transport International. They fly military charters with the DC-8s to Hawaii, Japan, Greenland and other places. But they are all being retired so fast I think one is left. http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N721CX

Shame JF didn't include their livery in the DC-8! For the DC-9 mods, I can gladly share my panel.cfg but for the FMS, you would need to own the FP FMS pack. For the additional cockpit sounds, you'd need Daniel Gauthier's cockpit sounds package (and Doug Dawson's DSD XML sound gauge). FP FMC Pack :- http://www.flightsimstore.com/product_info.php?products_id=666 Daniel Gauthier XML cockpit sounds :- http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=179238 Douglas Dawson's DSD XML Sound engine (the top item on the list) :- http://www.douglassdawson.ca/ .....if you've got those, drop me a PM and I'll send you the modified panel.cfg that utilizes these. Cheers.

But they are all being retired so fast I think one is left. A few years ago ATI did a nightly flight (Mon thru Fri) from KDFW to KTOL in the DC-8. It was pretty cool since I would usually be outside running and would see it go over head during departure and would hear the sounds of the engines. One day I had dropped my wife off at DFW and drove over to the cargo area and saw it parked, so the security guard after some small chat and persuading, left me walk over to the fence and take a couple of snaps of it parked at the cargo ramp. It was pretty cool to finally see it in person as the WOAI ATI package has that flight and livery included. For some reason shortly after that the DC-8 and ATI disappeared from KDFW and haven't seen it since, either at DFW or on Flightaware. Guess whatever cargo contract they had, that had it flying from DFW to TOL expired. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
November 2, 201312 yr Oh no mate, just as pop-ups. Yes I forgot about the VC. I know some would say that an fms should never be in a DC-9, I've always flown it the way it is, it's one of my all time favorite fsx airplanes but I use it as a modern day VIP plane and it'd be nice if it would have an FMS for those places that require RNAV. I know Dubai does, I dont think Europe does but Dubai is where it's based in my VA Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
November 2, 201312 yr Their website shows 4 DC-8 Combi's still on ATI's roster. I was lucky enough to have flown on one before as it was a real neat experience to be in such a small cabin, without that small plane feel. They do have 757 Freighters in the works to replace them, so the clock is definitely ticking. Chris Sunseri

November 2, 201312 yr Thus far (since we Antipodeans get a head start): Accomack to Richmond Exec in the Kodiak. It was supposed to be from Trenton, but the thing froze up twice over Philly, so I gave up on that. Friday Harbour to Apex via Diamond Point in the WACF. Orange County to Montgomery (San Diego, not Alabama) in the Kodiak again. Going to try to get from Pukaki to either Franz Josef, Haast or Makaroa in the C185. And I have a C172N parked in northern Italy, so might find somewhere to head from there. If that doesn't work, there's a 146-200 at Brest to head to Paris. Happy flights all... Mike Mike Dryden
