November 11, 201312 yr Get Adblock Plus. Ads will no longer show. Not just on Youtube videos, but any sites that contain ads. Including AVSIM?
November 11, 201312 yr Commercial Member Including AVSIM? Any site as long as ads are handled in a standard way. You can filter certain sites so that it does not block those site's ads. Brandon Filer

November 11, 201312 yr Get Adblock Plus. Ads will no longer show. Not just on Youtube videos, but any sites that contain ads. Yes, Adblock plus is not bad, I am using it mostly and it certainly helps getting rid of ads on a website. But, using it on youtube FS videos definitely causes stutters, that's at least my experience. I was wondering for years why my youtube videos get stutters, while the original file is running just perfectly. Leads to the conclusion, ads are causing stutters, even when Adblock Plus is activated. By default Adblock Plus is activated on Vimeo videos, too. And still no stutters on the video. Downside of Vimeo: - buffering/loading time of HD1080p videos takes longer - the Vimeo free account is very limited (no HD embedding on other websites, 500mb upload, weekly). That's why I purchased the Vimeo Plus option. (HD embedding activated, limited to 5GB upload, weekly). And I so much do not regret it. ateh one - Flight Sim Video Productions
November 11, 201312 yr I feel your pain and frustration! I've been an avid youtuber for years and use it put out music videos for a friends songs. Now with the update, we have a hard time replying to our subscribers!! It's VERY frustrating to say the least. I know it's a long stretch but my hope is youtube will see the negative feedback from the vast majority of youtube users and switch back. / CPU: Intel i7-9700K @4.9 / RAM: 32GB G.Skill 3200 / GPU: RTX 4080 16GB / Freight Pilot

November 11, 201312 yr I've improved my HD youtube buffer times by changing my DNS settings to OpenDNS entries. And without Adblock+ I would have given up on youtube awhile ago. November 12, 201312 yr Agreed and I miss the old school youtube where an author's channel is easy to navigate, the new layout is way too cluttered and "noisy" for a lack of a better term. Alex Jevdic KORD/KHOT/KPWKA<380 love at first flight
November 12, 201312 yr Was watching a video today and it suddenly disappeared and was replaced by an ad. I had no idea what was going on, but after the ad ended the interrupted video reappeared and ran to its conclusion..... If this is a new thing, then yes, youtube will soon be dead to me. November 12, 201312 yr Folks, find a way to store your videos, like Dropbox or similar, and we'll create a way to display them here in a dedicated system that gives your vids exposure without the BS attached.
November 12, 201312 yr That would be great Tom. I used the old system a few times with linking to youtube but your idea sounds brilliant. Thanks Doogie My youtube channel for HD FSX Videos http://www.youtube.com/user/Doogiereid?feature=mhee Doogie Reid
November 15, 201312 yr Moderator You want a rant about YouTube? I'll give you one... -- Videos won't play. -- Videos change resolution in mid play (480p to 144p). -- Seventeen seconds into playing a 14 minute video, the video autoplays to the end and shows the length of the video as seventeen seconds. Oh yeah, they make sure all of the Advertising plays perfectly, of course... Others have said it above; don't fix what isn't broken, why mess with a good thing... But do you really think Google is listening? I doubt it.
November 15, 201312 yr That would be great Tom. I used the old system a few times with linking to youtube but your idea sounds brilliant. Thanks Doogie I am working to bring that Video System back online. There are some start up issues that I am working with the author on. I will post an announcement when the system is back online.
November 15, 201312 yr Is this a country-specific issue? I haven't noticed any strangeness, pop-up ads or promotional garbage with my youtube.ca experience. Just last week I watched three 50 minute programs (the old British WWII aviation series 'Piece of Cake') without any interruption what-so-ever. I'm thankful to have a service available to host silly 1080p HD videos of my FSX ineptitude.
