Windows 7

_having problem with tearing also. Updated to latest drivers from Nvidia, from 314, seems to have fixed that issue also gained a few FPS when undocking. Im not a driver updater but believe it made a substantial difference with V2's DX11. More than I have ever seen in FSX.

Geofa - I've always loved your competitive screenshots, real v FSX. I would love to see the same once P3D is settled. That really would be a good comparison as to how much closer the evolution has moved to looking like reality with the new lighting etc

That is a splendid idea!

This is on a fresh install of Windows 8.1 and the latest Nvidia driver btw (you can see my system specs to the left)

Is P3D v2 even officially supported for Windows 8.1? For people having these issue we need to vet out are they using W7 or W8. That would say allot about why their having problems.

Is the aircraft preview screen now working in W8 using P3D v2?

Wow considering DX11 doesn't shadow copy VRAM and you are running stock aircraft and scenery, that is much higher VAS usage, then I would expect. FSX with default aircraft/scenery even maxed, doesn't come anywhere near that. (and I'm running Vista 32bit OS DX9 which does shadow copy VRAM into FSX VAS) I only run >2GB when I'm flying complex aircraft like the NGX. I fear the world of OOM's will show up again, once you start adding more complex addons.

I just did a test, I set FSX to LOD_RADIUS of 6.5, extremely dense scenery and autogen Water 2XHIGH  and resolution set to 1920x1080x32 (Max for my projector) set in KSFO in the default King Air. Scenery though is FTX Global and UTUSAX. The airport scenery is freeware photo real. and  get only 1.4GB VAS Usage. Granted Rob was using a higher resolution, getting 2.4GB VAS usage, but since Res is a function of the GPU, it shouldn't affect VAS that much is at all. In fact, I ran the same test at 1280x768 (My normal Res) and got 1.5GB usage, but that included UT2 Traffic. If Rob's getting 2.4GB with default, this does not bode well when more complex and memory intensive addons will be used. Oh, while I didn't load optional addon dll's at startup, required addons like FSUIPC Addon_manager were loaded.

Thanks

Im not getting good enough performance at the moment to even consider injecting AI with complex autogen. But is show is perty.

What settings do you have? Presume that all the shadows are ON?

Im amazed at the amount of very quick judgments. Its not even been 24 hours, and some have flown for what seems like 30 minutes, and have an issue or two, and its classified as a dissappointment?  I dont recall FSX running stellar out of the box.

LM is more than willing to listen to customers feedback and implement changes as needed. That will not happen with FSX ever again.

I have not got it just yet cause of cost, but its a certain buy. Its moving in the right direction with foundational improvements from what I can see and read and will only get better and better.

Lots of mixed feedback anyhow.

Yes, I totally agree that comparative test of VAS usage in both FSX and P3D2.0 is badly needed. Same airports, same settings, same planes.

But, according to most, this is suppose to be the almighty replacement for FSX. No tweaking, excellent performance, No OOM's etc. Quite frankly, for me at this point, FSX is far more solid and reliable. But I'm not a perty person either. Im not giving up , just not impressed. IMO its 1.4 or FSX with a few graphics bells and whistles.
