Saitek panels do not work :(

 

WHAT!!!! NOOOOO!!! Mom the panels do not work. WAAAAAAAA! :Cry:

I just ordered the Saitek Instrument Panel last night to complete my pit/panel.

I was sad too when none of my panels would light up, lol. Hopefully we'll get official drivers from Saitek to support v2 in the future.

Anyone use it with FSInn or SquawkBox yet on VATSIM?

I hope SPAD gets hold of this. He is the man. I donated to him recently hoping he would get interested again but never heard anything back.

Wow, absolutely amazing! Downloaded this morning and only had about an hour on it but what a difference. v1.4 is excellent but v2.0 is a whole new level. Silky smooth with most of the sliders over to the right, frame rates averaging 60 fps, this on an intel i5, 2500k, NVidia 6600ti graphic card, 8mb ram on Windows 7, quite a modest machine now. Not had chance to try any add-ons yet but onfirst impressions I am blown away.

FWIW, it looks like the VC mouse cursor bug (i.e fps degradation).

Hmmm, strange. With V1.4 O definitely didn't get any FPS drop from mouse and If I remember correctly, devs mentioned this as fixed in their forums when subject was once discussed. Odd thing if that is back with 2.0. Head movement bug doesn't ring bell either, but maybe because I have been using TiR and EZDok.

Is it not simply a matter of adding the correct entries to the XML configuration file? It is just a guess, but I will try this when I get home and install the thing.

Interesting. Some have silky smooth experience with average machines and some 15 FPS with monster machines.

Umm. When undocking panels, ie FMC, frames dop in 1/2! Thats a killer with no fullscreen mode anymore. About ready to punt this back to LM if I can't find a solution to moving panels to a second monitor and killing frames..

I have to say since I've been up since 6am, bought FTX global just for P3D, how disappointed I am.

After 3 hours of just changing setting etc I would mark it 2 out of 10 that's how disappointed I am.

I run a 940 cpu @4 and a gtx660

I have had 6 OOM, goto outside top down OOM every time, had 3 inside VC. FSX 3 in 4 years.

 

The think the AA etc is poor I have turned of all shadows apart from VC and there no better than DX10 preview.

Water in fsx I have set to med like most and it look fine in P3D you have to so very high for it to look anything like.

FPS 15-26.

Have I anything good to say? The LOD is very good no real popping, that's about it.

 

What I hate, yes hate.

The full screen does not let me use pop ups to drag them to another screen. Its FSX in full window mode.

No free flight you go straight into a flight and have to set up from there.

The list goes on.

Out of the box I was hope for, and all I was hoping for was 30fps locked, lol no chance and that's with a standard aircraft and really standard scenery. Global is nice don't take that the wrong way.

I was so looking forward to this.

That alone would be a no go for me... Can anyone else confirm this? I will be using a 780TI

Definitely bad news, perhaps the Vsync tweak is still required?

 

I'm not reading a lot of promise from these posts. I think I'll hold off on V2 until we get some more answers.

Other than the possible undock issue above, is the mouse cursor FPS drop bug gone, maybe the head latency one too?

Yes ofc I bought v2, did not sit up till 3am for version 1.4 to go live.
