November 28, 201312 yr Living in LA, simulating real flight on FS is nice. If i want less than an hour, PMDG737 to Las Vegas, 5 hours LAX to Hawaii on B767, 11 hrs LAX to Tokyo on B747 and for a long haul boring flight 15 plus hours..LAX to Dubai on B77L. Assuming, the wife will leave you alone for the entire day..... Kin M. (Klax)
November 28, 201312 yr Never tried PMDG T7 compression. If I do not have enough time, I fly a shorter route. Lj. Prodanovic
November 28, 201312 yr I used to use time compression, but not now I have PFPX because it'll invalidate the weather forecast. Jordan Forrest
November 29, 201312 yr Commercial Member I've used compression once, and if you've seen my Tutorial #1 you've seen the extent of it. I refuse to use it on my own, and really only used it because the tutorial made use of it. Kyle Rodgers
November 29, 201312 yr My wife wants me to do long haul flights all the time so that I can stay at home...There, you have it. Regis Biassala
November 30, 201312 yr I'll be the minority and say I love using time compression. Great when you want to fly specific city pairs but don't have the time. As someone else said, I like that we can each use the sim and it's features based on our own needs. AJ Pongress
November 30, 201312 yr All my flights are in real time. But I only fly the FEDEX so I just think of myself hauling cargo around. So I do flights like KJFK to KIAD keep the flights short and in real time. Works for me:) David Murden. November 30, 201312 yr All flights that I perform which are over 2hrs or ~6-700nm in length are done with Autocruise TC with 4x time acceleration, and 16x or 32x when I don't have much time. I typically do medium and ultra long hauls; UOOO-PAFA, MUHA-ZKPY, SBGL-EDDT, EGLL-NZAA using 4x auto TC with pause 20nm before T/D and I'll just do some work on my MacBook Pro or tend to household matters while the flight progresses. I'm not hardcore, I'm just flying for the fun and satisfaction of it.
November 30, 201312 yr I have been flying a long time. Got my first boeings for FS5 was no setup in those days, I have never flown excelerated time. Fred.
November 30, 201312 yr since the fs95 times till this day every time i flight its real time or ill wait till i have the time to do it .... time compression is not an option for me AT ALL :-) .... Image removed as image is no longer available.
November 30, 201312 yr I usually load up a long haul flight if i need to catch up on studying or school projects.
December 1, 201312 yr Hej I have been flying on FSX for since 1998 (FS98) and I don't use time acceleration mainly because it makes the simulation feel to gamey. In the real world when the pilots get bored (trust me on a long haul flight they do get ever so bored) they don't just accelerate time (though I am sure many of them wish they could)... While I am doing a hop from EGLL to KJFK (say 7h30m) you only really have around 5h spare time so in that I will be training with Angle of Attack also watching TV, may fit some cleaning in and oh lets not forget on line Christmas shopping. I have also been known to grab a nap  I say lets keep it real Kimberly Richmond-Jones
December 1, 201312 yr I have an 8 hour video of me flying the 777 in Vatsim's "Cross the Pond" eveny. Trent Hopkinson, 2015 Crewmember of www.mangrove.com.au WorldFlight sim Youtube channel www.youtube.com/user/musicalaviator
