J, I'm glad I could offer a suggestion that led you to some happy flying.  :Applause:

Yeah, the G1000 in the Kodiak has flat bezel controls.  I never tried the Acclaim...  I may need to take a look at it.

EDIT Never mind. ^_^

I may need to take a look at it.

You should! It's nice to see what a apparently native P3D plane can do in P3D! Just like the A36, which is in fact an addon plane, it works flawlessly and smooth.

Just reinstalled P3D2 from scratch, this time on an SSD.

I confirm that using default scenery and default aircraft everything is smooth and nice.

With my previous install, flying from Catania to Reggio Calabria or taking off from Hoquiam and turning left was a sure crash. Not so with this fresh install: I went back and forth from Catania and Reggio Calabria with heavy weather, fog and wind, and nothing happened. The same goes for Hoquiam: smooth and nice.

Now I will start installing things one addon at a time just to see what causes trouble.

Do yourself a HUGE favor and take the time to create a new Restore Point before installing anything new to test.

If you do this "religiously" your chances of returning to your previously good state is increased tremendously. :p0503:

Adding to what Bill said... IF you do this methodically and document it and post it here..you would be doing us all  a big favor. :)

And yeah..I am considering an SSD for this too... I was hoping the 1TB SSD would drop in price for the black Friday but no go,,,did not happen. So I may have to settle for the 500gb.  My 250gb SSD with FSX is 98% full.

Hi manny

SSDs are amazingly fast. I love them. IF you install your OS, it would bootup in seconds and if you install your sim..it would load up blazingly fast too. But while using your Sim, does it help with loading stuff...Hmm... I am not sure..except it can;t hurt.

Raptors don't even come close....

Minimum weekly disk images to a local or external storage drive is what the cool people do.

It's a few clicks to set up and (hopefully) forget,

Ok, there you go ... I tested everything many times in different conditions before adding anything else

- Vanilla P3D2: nice and smooth

- added FlyTampa St Marteen full: OK

- added Orbx FTXGlobal: OK

- added A2A 172: Immediate crash leaving Hoquiam (15 seconds into the flight, as soon as some terrain came into view: if you takeoff to the west it doesn't crash until you turn around eastward)

I believe we have a suspect here.

Also, after deinstalling the 172 I have a feeling that something is still wrong, but I could be imagining things, since both install and deinstall of the offending airplane was done manually. Anyway I would like to know how to delete the shaders.

That's it for now ...

Better yet, if you do find an issue by all means, please let the DEVELOPER know about it. Here, it's falling on deaf ears as far as repairing.

I am hesitant at the moment to install any addons that work outside of the traditional architecture of the sim, such as Accusim, Q400, etc. I would really hold off on those untill something official is released by the developers.

Can we rename this thread, "TO HELL and BACK AGAIN" by Bilbo, I mean J van E?

He's no longer in HELL with P3D v2 (wish the smiley icons would work on my end)...

Im in desperate need of Accusim and FSRecorder in P3dv2.

Ezdok is what keeps me coming back to FSX at this point, I think I could live without every other addon except this one.
