March 25, 201412 yr Excellent! Thanks Rob for update, good show! High end with 5090, VR, 2020 & 2024.
March 25, 201412 yr Hi Rob, Thanks for posting your settings. Looking forward to the update. I am going to install the HF tomorrow, I hope it fixes my vSync issues, can't stand the image tearing. \Robert Hamlich/
March 25, 201412 yr Thanks for info Rob, but one question for you, have you tried out to see if this light issue's with Aerosoft scenery's are fixed or not?
March 25, 201412 yr Rob, that's amazing that you could fly that long with those settings. I can't wait to try it out. How is the autogen drawing/pop?
March 25, 201412 yr Thanks for the notice, Dillon. Thanks for the good news regarding VAS, Rob. Thanks LM. Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org
March 25, 201412 yr Moderator Some of us didn't, while yes it was already posted, it doesn't mean that the discussion will follow the same lines which creates the purpose for two different threads. I am a little disappointing as well with no SLI, but I'd rather have them work on SLI and release other improvements as they are either fixed or implemented. Well, these two comments when taken together illustrate the problem with two posts about the same topic... ...since in that first thread (which I made sticky and flagged with a red FORUM ALERT tag) already has the authoritative answer from Wes Bard on the subject of SLI/Crossfire support... B) Regarding SLI and Crossfire, there is still some more work for us to do, if you run it in SLI it will definitely run better than it did before, but we don't want to officially say we're ready to rock and roll here til we've had the chance to completely finish the job there. March 25, 201412 yr I performed a Naples circuit around Mt. Etna tonight as a test flight that someone had requested on P3D forums (Bob I think?) ... VAS improvement is impressive ... started at 2.1GB and flew for about 2 hours and returned to Naples for landing at 2.5GB VAS. The building and vegetation density was mind boggling ... promise to make a video as soon as I get the next build. My Settings: http://www.robainscough.com/Prepar3D_Settings_2.html Cheers, Rob. Thank you for those settings, Rob. Can you tell us what you and LM have your Affinity mask set at in v2.2 while testing? Ken
March 25, 201412 yr Thanks for info Rob, but one question for you, have you tried out to see if this light issue's with Aerosoft scenery's are fixed or not? Can you provide a specific Aerosoft scenery you want me to try and I'll see if I have it. How is the autogen drawing/pop? I never really had an issue with autogen drawing/pop (in any V2.x) ... in the far far distance I will sometimes see it rapidly appear when heading towards a major city ... but it's pretty far distance from my view point and the buildings/trees are probably no more than 3 pixels. Can you tell us what you and LM have your Affinity mask set at in v2.2 while testing? For my i7 3960x I'm using 1364. Cheers, Rob.
March 25, 201412 yr Thanks for answer, maybe you can try ENZV, Stavanger? Or try one you have had problem with yourself to see, if you had problem of course.. ;-)
March 25, 201412 yr Hi Rob, Did you see burries in the past and do you still see them in 2.2? One more request, though: Could you visit one of the more forested areas (like Orbx PNW) to see how the new autogen system handles that much forest? I currently fly a lot out of Pemperton (CYPS). Or how about Orbx Northern California Area (for example start in O86 - which is rather demanding since it has a big lake surrounded by lots of forest). Thanks and happy landings! March 25, 201412 yr Thanks for answer, maybe you can try ENZV, Stavanger? I don't have Stavanger sorry, but FYI Stavanger X is not listed at P3DV2 compatible. Did you see burries in the past and do you still see them in 2.2? Yes I saw them in the past, I haven't seen them yet in 2.2 but my flying is usually <200Kts. Could you visit one of the more forested areas (like Orbx PNW) to see how the new autogen system handles that much forest? I currently fly a lot out of Pemperton (CYPS). Or how about Orbx Northern California Area (for example start in O86 - which is rather demanding since it has a big lake surrounded by lots of forest). I'll check those out tonight, time permitting. I'm hoping to get a new build soon.
March 25, 201412 yr Some screenshots of the older/WIP cloud shadows here: http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/76242-lm-opened-their-blog-for-v22-development/?p=697658 The immersion looks incredible now (and the new-and-improved clouds should look even better).
March 25, 201412 yr The cloud shadows are more than just shadows on the ground ... how the aircraft navigates in and out of the shadows has brought about a sense of realism that I never really thought possible with today's hardware.I couldn't run those settings above in 2.1 + hotfix without getting an OOM within 10-15 minutes, now I can fly for hours and still have 1.5GB VAS free. I think you ladies/gents are really going to enjoy V2.2. Oh boy... this is going to be great! I really need to assemble a new PC soon!
March 25, 201412 yr The future is indeed bright with P3D. We are fortunate to have such active developers who listen to their customers. Wes and the gang deserve a beer. A lot of beer. But not too much, or else it will delay their work and progress. March 25, 201412 yr No beer until blurries are fixed, or LOD max is increased. I prefer photoreal before autogen. I wish I could have autogen over my FSEarthTiles areas.
