And now this thread is really turning into something personal and rather childish.

"Oh look, see how bad this Kyle-guy is. Oh my. What a bad person." "Oh yeah. You are so right. Finally someone is speaking up against these veterans and forum police. Justice!" *sigh*

Actually, the post before yours was mine. I was attempting to inject some humour into the proceedings, so that we could all move on.

Unfortunately, your post has simply contributed to the debate. you have now become part of the problem.

And on that note, I will now egress the debate. I suggest everyone else does the same.

Wow. I just scrolled thru 4 pages of nearly nothingness enveloped by arguing when the topic is supposed to be about the 747V2. Instead of all this back and forth slander or whatever you wanna call it, how about talking about the 747 and its iconic presence.

This aircraft has been around since the late 60s, and is now diminishing rapidly, being seen less and less at the airports, because its usefulness and fuel efficiency aren't that competitive anymore.

Nevertheless, this was an awesome aircraft. Working on the ramp in YVR, it was the most exhilarating thing to witness, after loading and pushing back a 747 that weighed nearly a million pounds take off, was always exciting to see. Focus on that, and that PMDG will be able to provide us the joy of flying these wonderful machines in our beautiful hobby that lets us accomplish what most of us will never be able to enjoy in real life. Enough of the backlashes. Please. Do it for the sake of the flight sim community.

All in my humble opinion as a proposal to honor the OP topic.

I might be old fashioned but whenever I fly on a plane over large body's of water or the poles in real life I prefer those extra two engines I'd pay a premium to fly on a 747 rather than a 777 or a330. Because I don't like the cold nor can I swim 1000 miles.

 I should, I'm on a diet too!

In all seriousness though it's a shame to see fellow flight simmers with the common love of flying high quality addon aircraft arguing with each other about little things.  -_-

Scandinavian, no pun intended, but if you spend such a lot of time in replying in the forum, when do you find the time to beta test?? That's why SP1 is taking so long... :P

The best place to discuss PMDG's products is on other sites and forums where the stress levels are much lower and PMDG's lapdogs aren't waiting to bark at you for asking a question or criticizing the product.

Y'know, I don't think these "innocent question" Posters get chewed the way you describe it. It usually happens when the OP comes off with an attitude.

If it happens to be someone who "joined  2 days ago" they're usually knew to PMDG's release date policy. They deserve to be treated carefully.  Unless this individual is seemingly radiating severe gluteus maximus pain, itching and/or burning.

I think these "PMDG warriors" are doing a fair job. They're active, they reply quickly, ( compared to other forums) and they vary in personality, which makes reading their responses and help all the more interesting.

I have very specific reasons:

Spread knowledge
Make people think twice about asking others to think for them

I am not a "friend" with Kyle in the sense that I never met him. That said, I do believe his approach is on the right track. I have been involved in Microsoft Flight Sim for well over 20 years. Still I do have questions now and then. When Kyle comments to my posts he generally reminds me to look for it with the AVSIM search tool, and when I do the answer is usually there. When it isn't in the archive or I have difficulty finding it, I post. Kyle has always given me sound advice and on the occasion where he misunderstood me, he apologized and then gave me good advice in the end.

I believe that as a group most of us work very hard for our hobby, we research hardware options, scenery add-on quality, aircraft add-on quality and utility. Yet we forget to search through the AVSIM post archive for our interest (PMDG 744 v2, or megascenery earth, or ATC options), and just post.  In the end, every one of these repeat posts yield to bickering amongst ourselves, instead of friendly discourse.

Ha! Part of the problem... You wish. Sorry, but "No" sorry. That one made me chuckle a bit.

But humor is always a good suggestion.
