FSX Fiber Accelerator?

Featured Replies

Bought it ! love it !... first test was A2A Cherokee in Orbx Squamish gave impressive results with increased FPS and smoother, more fluid flight, and no blurries, I am using DX10 fixer also.

Tried in FTX ENGLAND at UK2000 EGNX with PMDG NGX and also noted how smooth frames were and they never dropped below what I set them at.

I read the manual and adjusted inspector settings accordingly and saw impressive results...

Excellent product, well done BD :)

I'm also curious: with this software adjusting and fluctuating frames, has anyone encountered stutters? Sure, in some scenarios I can run 60 FPS fine but it's the fluctuation, say when passing through 45 FPS (3/4 of monitor refresh speed), I see the most stutters normally. Because of this, I certainly lock my system at 30, not 60 or unlimited.

Still interested also what settings are changed on the fly before I try this, or what happens if I uninstall the software (does it properly return FSX to normal like I had before or does it render FSX to where I can expect to reinstall it)?

As far as I have found, this tweak is not destructive in any way to any user files, it makes it changes directly in memory, I think, so the moment you close the app and fsx and restart the sim you are back to your normal fsx.cfg settings. It does not alter any user files at all.

Cheers, Andy.

Finally had a chance to try it out properly.  I did confirm an increase in framerates but also seemed to get more stutters with the program active.  I honestly had a difficult time trying to figure out the right setting for the lower limit....perhaps I need to re-read the manual.  I settled on upper of 30 and lower of 24 but the little stutters in the turn were noticable and more so than without the program installed.  Visually I did not see it as a huge change in my graphics.

Try minimum 30 and lock it to 33 in fsx, that's what I have settled on now and it's far smoother and it very rarely goes to unlimited now.

Cheers, Andy.

Still trying to figure out how to uninstall .net framework 4.5.1 and replace it with 3.5 sp1.  Any help will be appreciated.

Why uninstall .net framework 4.5.1 ? My PA works fine with it. Try the démo !

NO, NO, NO! You do NOT have to uninstall version 4 of .Net in order to use version 3.5! It is perfectly acceptable to have multiple versions of .net installed on the same computer at the same time - it is definitely NOT a case of "there can be only one".

The .net frameworks are similar to the visual C runtime libraries that many programs require - I have the 2005, 2008 and 2010 versions of the VC libraries - a program written to use the 2005 library will find and use only the 2005 runtime files. A newer program written to use the 2010 libraries will find and use only the 2010 files. There is no conflict.

.net works the same way. If a program is compiled to use version 3.5, it will use only the version 3.5 runtime files. A program compiled for .net version 4.5 will use only the version 4.5 runtimes.

Do not uninstall version 4.5.... Just leave it be. All you have to do is download the version 3.5 SP1 .net installer from Microsoft and run it. I don't have the Fibre Accelerator yet, but I believe the latest version of the installer will automatically fetch the required .net 3.5 runtimes from Microsoft if you don't already have them.

But, in any case, do not remove your existing .net 4.5 installation, or you will break other programs on your PC that specifically depend on version 4.5

For multiple time I will again say:

THERE IS NO CHANGE IN YOUR FSX.cfg or menus. Your settings remain EXACTLY THE SAME.

The only case a change will be made is to exit FSX without exiting Fiber first, while you are in (forced by fiber) unlimited frames set. This will keep the unlimited frames in FSX and it is mentioned in the manual and it is due to a bug in FSX CODE even we - cannot  bypass .

---------------

Also because I was asked: The application cannot run via network. It is impossible to communicate with FSX's graphic engine via ip, It is technically impossible.

FSUIPC is only needed on reading FSX's actual frames, to represent them in the app and have a base to work with. *(like pressing shift - Z)

---------------

ALSO with version 1.1 almost all win7 users with all kind of problems, will have their app working ok now. Just get the new demo/new full version.

I was almost sure, but now I am 100% sure, that most people don't read manuals. :D

Right. So you believe those same people will actually read a forum post? :Hypnotized:

Well, maybe they will. It certainly doesn't hurt to try in any case. :He He:

Certainly interesting.  BD-FSPS, can you confirm this?
