RealAir is coming to P3D

Featured Replies

I am sure we will see much more than a new installer. LM has done some amazing things over the past year. A top shelf developer like Real Air will take advantage of that and build a better mouse trap. Yes they do work, but I am sure they can be tweaked and will be even better now.

We've been waiting for what we reckon is a stable and reasonably lasting P3d version and the number of customers wanting a proper conversion has increased in the last month or so. It is true that some of our products work ok, but with limitations on our special effects which are a very important part of the Legacy and Dukes. We've finally found a way around these limitations so we feel reasonably confident we can produce decent P3d installers for our aircraft.

There will be a small charge for this, because we have invested quite a long time in finding solutions for the current limitations, and of course existing customers will need whole new downloads on top of our generous re-downloading/re-install allowance. Bandwidth and web costs are always rising and we feel it is fair to ask for a commensurate fee.

We'll also be working on the GTN gauge integration as a further option to the current RXP integration, but we are unclear yet as to how we will work this (whether it will be for P3d only or also for FSX customers). We'll try to do both but we need to keep our costs down to avoid charging more than a nominal fee to cover them.

We will be announcing all this shortly on our webpage, together with a decision about the C172.

Thanks for your interest.

Best Wishes,

Thanks for the update, Rob. It's good to know that RealAir have committed to P3D, considering that I have just made the switch from FSX

Thank you for the update, the extra charge is reasonable considering the amount of work you have to do to make the Legacy and Duke compliant with Prepar3D.

Also I really hope that you'll end up continuing work on the C172.

Great news! Credit card is ready...

As briliant as a  RA 172 will no doubt be, what more could it offer that A2A's version does not?.  I would rather have a completely new type of aircraft than another (very good) version of an existing aircraft.

Be that as it may, I'm delighted that RA are coming over to P3D

Great news. I was critical in the past of RealAir not supporting P3D. No more! The Duke is my favorite aircraft, followed closely by the Legacy/

They could make a different version of the C172, for example the C172SP (A2A rendition is the C172R) with the G1000.

Turbine Duke has at times been my favourite FSX aircraft. I've got no problem paying for a P3D v2.3 compatible 'upgrade' if the end result is a better plane. Looking forward to flying it!

Personally I'd love to see Real Air create an updated version of their SF-260.  I think that was my first payware FSX aircraft many years ago, would be awesome to see it with a feature upgrade and graphic facelift.

I was considering getting a king sir but if the Duke will be available I will get that instead. Thanks RealAir.

Thank you Rob and Sean, I'm really glad you've confirmed both P3D2 support and F1 GTN integration. Looking forward to the release!

As regards the Skyhawk, I'm absolutely certain the RA C172 would be brilliant, and I'd certainly purchase it. The problem is, however, that the A2A rendition is excellent, too, which may adversely affect potential sales. Unless you plan to model a completely different version, perhaps it would be better to focus on an alternative plane/model? I, for one, would kill for any of the bigger Cessnas (especially 206 or 210) done to the RealAir standard, as the existing renditions on the market are rather disappointing. Just my two cents, I'm pretty sure there'll be plenty of other suggestions until you confirm your plans...

Great news that Real Air is coming to P3D! I think it is a no brainer to add the GTN intergration. I bought a small touchscreen just for the GTN 750 and just love it. The combination of using touch for flight planning etc. and the clear easy to see steam gauges for me are even more fun than the G1000 and not near as hard on performance. Some days it is just great to be a simmer!! :yahoo:

Totally agree, the 750 on a touch screen is a whole new level.

PM me reference updated RXP data

Just FYI, that is illegal, friend. Of course, do what you want.

Good news, Rob. What about Mindstar VC integration?
