One 50"LG plasma TV for VC, plus one 22" LCD monitor for panels. Running 780Ti OC.

Since I got Oculus Rift I found it's very immersive for GA flying, better than my 50" TV.

9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11

3600 x 1920 on a gtx 760, oc cpu @ 4.6ghz

xplane & dcs running fine, p3dv2.3 is struggling.

but having 3 24" in portrait mode is fantastic

Kind regards

Three Samsung 22" monitors thro' a TH2Go, 3840x1024. All three for VC view.

i7-2600k, mostly around 40%, GTX680 Signature 4GB, mostly around 95%

Still on 2.2, very smooth, no OOMs.

3 27" 1920x1080 monitors with a single EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX. I also use a postprocess shader I wrote and have NO DISTORTION on my side monitors. I could never go back to stretched views, and they honestly make me feel dizzy now if I do. FaceTrackNoIR, but it may not tune as well as IR tracking solutions, or haven't had time to tune it just right. Framerates are usually just under 30 until there is heavy weather or scenery. You can really notice stutter in side views because the view is perpendicular to your movement. P3D 2.3 helped framerates and stutter alot, but microstutter is still there. I read somewhere to try many FPS cap speeds for different cockpits, but ain't nobody got time for that.

Hi Denali,

Would love to try such a postprocess shader. Does it impact performance?

Kind regards

Low flights in GA don`t bother me to much, but when i pass 10000 feet it gets very distorted.

If it ain't broke, i fix it until it is...

me too!

I run 3, 24" asus screens off one single 780ti 3GB at 5760x1080.. i did some comparisons where i would switch back to single 1920x1080 and check the frame rate (paused).. i saw about a 7-9 fps decrease in going to the full 3 screen mode.. maybe some day i'd think about dedicating a card to each screen, or going dual 780ti in SLI when LM fully implements that.  I also run a 4930k at 4.4ghz (overclocked, with HT on)

I rolled back to cloud.fx from v2.2 as 2.3 in thick clouds would drop my framerate down by 15-20 fps (LM is working on a hot fix as many know now)..See this thread if anyone is unaware of the mods that can be done for now.

Fun stat examples..

FTXG + FTXV (not tweaked/reduced) + Aerosoft San Fran close to city in default cessna, paused, no real clouds, 32 fps (add "fogged in" theme, goes to 26), unpause and frame rate with no clouds is generally around 25 (this is with a few bgl's from ftx disabled to increase performance)

Other areas not as dense/heavy.. with thick clouds, default cessna i'm around 44+ fps (photoscenery ontop of ftxg etc) (this is 22 fps with v2.3 cloud.fx)

I could never go back to a single screen, however, oculus rift will be interesting in the future. (waiting on the final release to get one, next year?)

@Denali,

Many of us were following the thread about your postprocess shader to remove sideview distortion. We would really like to try it - do you have a link?

I have 3 1920x1080 monitors for immersion.

I really want to get this to you, but I don't want it to break anything.  You can still use the download links in the old thread for a working shader.  I'm about to hand over a project, and if it runs well I'll be able to tinker with the shader install while I babysit the startup ... and my kid, heh.  I'm really sorry about the delays.  I've also learned more that I may be able to get rid of the slight pixelation, although in 2.3 it's even less noticeable, ... just as the cockpit shading is less jagged, hrmmnn.

Hi,

I've seen a performance boost with the new card, not a big jump... But a jump.

Hi Mike,

Did you notice an improvement over the GTX 690 you used to have? I still have a GTX 690 running three TVs at 5760x1080 and I am wondering whether the switch to a Titan is worth it.

Thanks,
Maurice

Hi,

Conclusively inconclusive :) . Can you possibly quantify the improvement, even if very approximate. Or even better, knowing what you know now and if you could turn back the clock, would you spend that money again? :)

Thanks,

Maurice

Hi,

With the new card and ram I've been able to raise the sliders another knotch and maintain the same FPS. Not sure if the single gpu has helped with the micro studders over the dual in the 690, but they are gone.

Since the 690 is going to be an upgrade to my main computer, I'd purchase again in a heartbeat... If your just looking for an increase in performance, stick with the 690 over the black... The slight increase in performance doesn't justify the $1,100.00 cost.

My bank account (and my wife) thank you profusely :-) .

I came very close many times to biting the bullet and spending that money but a little voice inside me kept saying this was not the magic bullet I was hoping for.

Thank you again.

Maurice

I have noticed after my upgrade from GTX670 to GTX780 that performance does increase, but it depends on the situation. Largest benefit was without a doubt 1 gig bigger VRAM, which helps a lot with different settings. But as far as computing performance goes, especially with some heavy ORBX Vector settings some urban areas are still very demanding on main thread causing load on that infamous single core on the CPU and that causes GPU utilization to tank also along with the FPS.
