In response to your post re: screens blanking out ....

Once I had set things up correctly within the MS Windows screen resolution panel everything settled down and worked correctly ...

Cheers

Thanks, if I decide to reinstall 344.48, I'll check that.

Has anyone else experience menu's and stuff "distorting" while using DSR? I can't seem to figure out why my menu lines are bending and distorting when using this. I am not using NI just Nvidia Control panel and in-sim settings.

Using p3d

I get the slight distortion on the taskbar but it doesn't look bad enough to toss out the baby with the bath water.

Cheers

Have you got windows Aero theme turned on?  I noticed the distortion when I forgot to have it on.

Where is this setting located? The menus also "pulsate" when moving the mouse over them. My ORBX 3D lights also pulsate when in DSR is this normal?

So the routine is now once setup to check AA and AF INSIDE fsx display settings? I am having some Vsync tearing are we able to turn this on? Also is 4X AA the max we can do or can we go higher if we want, I have a GTX 780.

I'm getting great results from 1.5xDSR, 2.0x is not much better on a 1920x1200. But what I do is set the best filtering and AA with NI, then apply 1.5xDSR.

Nope...

Geez. Thx Robert. Ive been highly critical of DSR all because I didn't have Aero enabled, had no idea I didn't. Makes all the difference in the world. Aero enabled is a MUST to use DSR.

From what I am reading here, Rich...I think that there is 'no norm' to anything we all collectively do as regards flight simming on a myriad of systems. I have no ORBX light pulsing at all, never had before DSR, and certainly not post-DSR.  I'm going to just write it all down, to everybody's different hardware mix...and settings upon that hardware. There is NO commonality at all, and perhaps, has never been....

You try something..and if it strikes gold...you enjoy, but if not...you move on...and stick with what you have, that works for your expectations.  For myself, and my equipment...DSR was like going around a bend in the road...and discovering new vistas that have come into view, as a result.

Thank Mitch for the mention - yes unfortunately one size does not fit all and with DSR your monitor is the biggest factor by far - lower resolution monitors are rocking with this plug-in - high resolution 2560 and up just do not need it - seems to be the general consensus - anyway what I do is use a program called snagit - its great for documenting your installs and directions to do so - I place the jpg screenshots in the folder of the addon which need extra tlc to load and there is not many now as EMT is great - I even loaded UT2 and EZCA with no tweaking anymore so last update must have fixed these problems - really the only thing I have run across in the last install was fsgenesis mesh

One other thing I would like to pass on is the Aerosoft 318/319 - I have found it works great if loaded right after a new install of P3D - then other addons - in my case it worked as I was having a lot of problems with the auto flight system - now none and excellent FPS

Enabling the aero setting solved my issued with the menus thanks.

You're welcome fellas, the Aero theme kept me rom scrapping P3D altogether.  I run a script that works beautifully when using applications that disable Aero, just search for Windows Aero Enabler and give it a try.  I think I downloaded mine from softpedia.
