October 24, 201411 yr You can't possibly be serious. No need for AF anymore? Agreed. I can't test DSR here cause I switched to AMD, but I've read the Gaussian filter used by DSR adds an extra performance hit that SGSS doesn't. SGSS is not supported in many newer titles, so DSR may have it's place there, but in FSX/P3D? I don't think it adds anything Well, my bad. Of course I was talking about AA not AF, as you can see on my following sentence in this post. Sorry for confusing this. Regarding the SGSS I have to disagree. It seems that at least in FSX the hit on FPS when flying around bigger airports with lots of AI traffic and clouds is reduced using DSR compared to high SGSS modes. In my case, only 8xSGSSAA gives me the same crisp image as 4xDSR, but 8xSGSSAA is an overkill when flying in cloudy weather (FSX). Let me see if I well understand..... In FSX DX10 SteveFX don't you use any more AA? In your opinion is better To uncheck AA box into FSX? and still use AF 16x in NI? I usee AA checked into FSX and Anisotropic filter Trilinear, but no more NI. Exactly. I set "no AA" in the DX10 Fixer (which also unchecks the AA box in FSX for you...), eliminate all AA settings in the nVidia Inspector and still use 16xAF forced via nVidia Inspector together with the negative LOD settings. And I use only 5% DSR smoothness for now, as 33% results again in a slightly fuzzy image when using 4xDSR. Did you also change Anisotropic filter into FSX to None or did you leave it Anisotropic? October 24, 201411 yr My desktop native resolution is 1870×1080, inside the P3D I have select the DSR resolution which is 2540×1440 or something like that. Any way when I open the task manager thr desktop resolution is changed to the p3D DSR selected resolution. How I can keep my desktop resolution while using the p3D DSR selected resolution. Also I have tearing nearing the clouds, why ?
October 24, 201411 yr Author "How I can keep my desktop resolution while using the p3D DSR selected resolution" It does that once in a while fix it in windows once P3D is shut down - usually it wont do it again - it just has to settle in from what I have seen - but I am not actually using it much on my monitor - if I had a 1080 bet I would be in Disney land like Mitch - your native res looks like a good one for this - nice in between as mine is 2560x1440 I have had to go back to the hack driver this new official driver caused a lot of problems for me - p3d not shutting down correctly - gear lever not working - yup sound weird but driver gone problems gone Rich Sennett

I noticed that I had induced tearing when I matched the desktop resolution with the DSR resolution in P3D. \Robert Hamlich/
October 25, 201411 yr Thank you for this mod/effect, P3D is running smooth I see shimmering in the distance; any work arounds? Regards. Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
October 25, 201411 yr Thanks for the help Rich,Yes its in the control panel, but there is no drop down function. Jim, you have to deselect in your Mouse properties, the "Snap to". When that is deselected, you will have your dropdown and be able to activate DSR. Pierre DSR. I don't like it. Here is why. 1. Text is super tiny (it is a problem in a flight sim when you have to read dials, text etc...) 2. Screen is somewhat "wavy", right click in the background in FS and look closely at the text. It is unstable. It is hardly noticeable. But it is there. 3. Lines are not as sharp as native resolution. That is normal because the ReZ is non native. And this is why I keep my 27in Dell at native res 2560x1440, text is solid, clear and so are the lines. I understand though that at lower rez, people have a Wow effect going from 1080p to 3k to 4k rez (even though it is non native) They would have that effect also switching to a 2560x1440 rez monitor. October 25, 201411 yr Mainly this work properly for 65 -------> 75 inch Tv's, there it gives an amazing results than our monitors. Sharp and crisp picture, sharp and crisp text and you dont need do anything except choose your new resolution and also no problem to choose the same new resolution to the desktop, dont forget you are in 65------> 75 in tv.
October 25, 201411 yr Ok, I must be doing something wrong, I can't for the life of me get it working on P3D. On fsx, it works wonderfully, and I must say the result is amazing. But in p3d it just doesn't work. This is what happens: when I choose the new resolution in the p3d options and go fullscreen, for some reason my desktop resolution changes, not my p3d resolution. All I get is a huge mouse cursor, but the resolution inside the sim seems the same, at least the menu bar is the same size. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Can someone help me? Cheers!
