DSR - WOW - Must See

I have concluded this will depend on your monitor and if it works well or not and no difference either way in that case try the lowest dsr factor and play with smoothing and cranking up your graphic settings in P3D - also don't forget high image quality setting in nvidia control panel - I always set it to high - this is what I am  playing with at the moment otherwise I may go back to non use have to play with it a bit more

I have noticed that at least a couple of people have asked whether DSR will work when you are spanning P3D over three screens but, alas, no on has commented on whether its achievable or not

I am on the new driver and using a GTX 970 spanning over three screens but ... having looked in the NVidia control manager there is no references to DSR

So .... does anyone have any idea if this works for us folks spanning over three screens?

Thanks

Paul

Paul,

There are other posts both here and elsewhere online that with multiple monitors, you also have to set your desktop to the higher resolution or the nVidia control panel will not show the DSR options. I tried that with dual monitors and it didn't work, so good luck. This driver is way too buggy and I uninstalled it.

On my visual flying PC its work well with my Samsung 46 HD3D Tv.

But with my Cockpit PC which contain projector and 5 screens it not work.

Spirit, this driver has a lot of odd quirks. It's almost like nVidia rushed it out to pump up interest in the 900 series. Very uncharacteristic for them.

Another benefit of DSR is you can now set the TextureMaxLoad at 1024,and as aviator8 had proved no loss of quality when zooming in. DSR is so fab I'm using it with ARMA3 as well

Hmm..  This driver runs perfectly on my SLI 680GTX setup so people shouldn't assume that it is bad for everybody.

Nor should people assume that they should install this driver and think that it is a great panacea for flight simming. I was responding to spirit-66's post. Do you think that the information at the link that he posted is not unusual?

I'm amazed that any user even figured that out.

And is it reasonable to expect that with one DisplayPort and one HDMI monitor that unless you keep them both turned on, the primary monitor goes blank? This bug has also been reported to nVidia, so it's not just me. Here's a representative set of Guru3D quotes on that subject:

anyone had any issue with multi screen and display ports ?

I went and got 3 DP cables today, connected them up and only 1 screen works after much unplugging and plugging in I decided to connect a 4th monitor in both DVI ports still nothing then connected the 4th monitor to HDMI port and bingo all 4 screens work although if I unplug the monitor that's connected via the HDMI then I lose all but one screen plug HDMI back in and all four screens work ? this is with driver ver. 344.48, 344.16 has the same issue, strange how three DP ports will only work if you have a 4th monitor connected to the HDMI port...

also in Nvidia control panel it will say monitor 1 connected to dvi when its not its connected to DP port it gets the ports mixed up ? the multi screen part of the driver seems very buggy and sometimes very confusing because it seem to have a mind of its own lol .

these drivers seem a real mess when you start changing multi monitor setups .. ? i'll never listen to anyone who says AMD drivers are bugged to hell LOL well Nvidia's drivers I have had a lot more problems with !! I hope they sort multi screen issues out or for me these cards are a waste of time I feckn changed my R9 290x's due to multi screen issues although they had hardware issues that could not be fixed that's why I got two 970's ... lol all this money spending and still in same boat :/

People jumped at a driver with DSR and all I'm saying is, be careful, especially if you are running more than one monitor.

Blurry wtih DSR with 2376x1485 scaled down to a 1680x1080p monitor.

I guess it has to do with the image ratio?

I found that 1.5xDSR produces a significant improvement on 1920x1200, 2xDSR does improve on that but not by much. I continue to use the NI 16x Aniso, high quality filtering, and AA modes. I found even 4xDSR does not compare well to that if NI setups are unused. I've not tried DSR on a multi panel setup yet, but anyone having trouble with DSR make sure to try pressing the key combo. ALT+ENTER twice as the driver uses this to calculate the values when the application changes screen modes.

In response to your post re: screens blanking out  ......

I had a great deal of problems with this issue ( I use 4 screens ... 3 for the spanning and a 4th for moving maps etc etc)

But .. I found the problem to be the NVidia control panel 'fighting' with the MS Windows screen resolution panel ...

Once I had set things up correctly within the MS Windows screen resolution panel everything settled down and worked correctly ...

Cheers

Paul

Nvidia DSR does not work icw NVSurround + SLI.

Thanks for confirming that GSalden ...

Saves me hours of messing around Hahaha

Hopefully, in time, NVidia will get this sorted for us 'Multi Screenies'

I must say ... it does look good :)

Have anyone noted that when using a DSR resolution, clouds are resized ?

I wanted to take a screenshot when I was just on top of clouds, with the rising sun behind me. Switched to DSR 4x and bam ! Clouds were covering the sun, as if they were 2x their original size.
