I wouldn't worry about it too much Rob, the powers that be do what they do for better or worse.  You can't quantify happiness and satisfaction, which is what RealAir brings in abundance to this hobby.  There are a lot of simmers on here who's flight simming lives are much brighter thanks to all those hours/days/months/years spent researching, recording, programming, coding, texturing, testing you guys do to bring us these excellent addons.  We are VERY grateful.  Matter of fact I kind of hope you do charge a little bit for the Legacy GTN updates so I can compensate you for your efforts.

Cheers

TJ,

You are a kind and thoughtful man. Thank you.

I absolutely agree, and I couldn't possibly express it better than you have, so I'll simply resort to a "+1 from me".

I've recently had a bad case of "simming burnout", really struggling to find the enjoyment I used to get from the hobby... The incessant tweaking involved in trying to get P3D to run and look to its full potential didn't help, either. I did miss the Legacy and Duke, but I thought I'd wait for the P3D native models.

A few days ago, however, I decided to reinstall the Legacy in FSX. The moment I took it for a spin again (for the first time since last May, I think), it started getting back to me... the pure joy of flying a beautifully modeled, fast and nimble plane. The way it handles, the sounds, the shakes and animations, it all combines to put a big grin on my face. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the piston Duke, but I approach it with a lot of humility as it's still a bit "too much plane" for me (I do try to fly as realistically as I can). With the Legacy, I can just have some fun with light aerobatics, and I can get from A to B fast and in style. And don't even get me started on the cockpit. It's the single most beautiful VC, period (OK, now matched by the V2 Dukes, but still...). The clarity and smoothness of the gauges, the real depth to the instruments, love it...

Well, I got a bit carried away, didn't I... As TJ said, bring on the new stuff, my CC is ready.

To anyone that experienced loss of clickspots in the cockpit randomly in the Duke v2, instead of replacing the model file can you try a theory of mine? I had no problems flying for over 40 hours and then I changed some settings in the configuration program and started getting lost clickspots all the time through out the flight.

The rare time I have lost the VC clickspots, I got them back by "saving the flight" in flight..

Last word: I am NOT blaming the RealAir developer. You guys are doing a great job, and offer an affordable product for the amount of realism you offer. This is the first RealAir product I have purchased, and it won't be the last. I buy my FMS data from Navigraph, and see the Euro price on their site, and see the USD price when I go to PayPal to pay. It's always different by a few cents - $5.12 one time, $5.15 next time, $5.05 the next, etc. But it is straight conversion - Navigraph charges Eu 4.72 every time, and the difference is the conversion from Euro to USD. I never see "$8.55 USD" or "$9.02" when I go to pay...there is no add-on charge, no tax, no VAT, just the difference between dollars and Euros.

I guess I'll just bite the bullet, and not worry where my money is going, as long as I get a good product for my cash.

SO...how about those Yankees???

I still think I got my money's worth at $42 USD. Great plane, and nowhere near the cost of a PMDG A/C

Think that  the two aircraft are completely  different  to one  another  and  that's why  the cost difference

Well, it was the same with the CoolSky MD-80, not quite a PMDG product, but all of the important bells and whistles. I like the Flight1 King Air and the Majestic Dash 8, too...the King Air is somewhat more affordable, and the Dash 8 is fantastic but a bit out of my price range at present. All in all, these next-gen aircraft are unbelievable!

Rob, I did not want to post this in another developers topic... so here goes.

I reached out to a helpful user that had a repaint and tweaks from the Duke in the avsim library, and asked for help. He showed me how to edit the panel files to get rid of the very bright backsplash that acompanies the panel light switch

Here is an example of that editing

DnoW7FZ.jpg

the downside is the cockpit is dark, so I moved up one of the dome lights editing the aircraft.cfg line and it becomes brighter by switching on the cockpit light switch, both dome lights turn on. It gives out a bright reflection though so I cannot move the position of the dome light too close together

on the upside, look at how beautiful and atmospheric the cockpit looks at night, my eyes dont get tired anymore

this is the panel and dome light on, just enough light to see all the switches:

please tell us how we can share in this great looking edit

The mod is for the Duke V2 not the Turbine, but I am guessing the panel files will be similar, or at least you can open the dds files up and see what was done. All credit to Wayne S. for his help. I will ask about a mod for the Turbine V2 if he has that

I can upload to a file hosting but I dont have an account, so private message me and I will email you the file

Got it - thanks again !!
