Sorry, I'm man of my word, first come first serve ... but you got very close.

Completely respect that!

There is another thread here where nullack said that he was testing two Titan X cards in SLI with P3d. He didn't give a whole lot of detail as he said that he was operating under an NDA.

But he did say that he was getting scaling by default close to what he would get using the nVidia developer trick of renaming Prepar3D.exe to AFR-friendlyD3D.exe.

Hi Vic,

At this moment I have set SLI in the NV Control Panel.

As I have 3 monitors in NV Surround I had to disable It , set SLI settings and then re-enabled SLI.

Also I have 1 Titan connectecto 2 monitors and the other Titan connected to the 3rd monitor.

Would it be better to connect them all to one card when using SLI ?

Answered your PM.

I still think that until P3D moves to DirectX12, we will still be really bound to CPU more than anything else. Unless you are driving some 4k monitor with tons of AA, There isn't much to gain with a new GPU.

Depending on the system, there's a lot to gain BUT the real question is whether or not the co$t outlay is worth the amount of change.

The issue is the amount of draw calls and how only 1 core can talk to 1 core at the time. DX11 is still single threaded. This engine has to be re-written. When I play X-plane 10, My cpu is ~ 30%. When I play P3D, I am going between 55-75%. Sometime one core goes to an 100%. It's very much still very CPU bound while my GPU is ~ 60%. That's gaming @ 1440p and driving 2 other screen.

Fogboundturtle is correct. The rendering engine needs to get out of the 1990s. Throwing in a few DX11 API calls isn't exactly an engine rewrite, Lockheed.

Come on, they've done a wikid implementation of DX11 given the code they had.

DX12 should improve matters.

They need to ditch the legacy code. It's an daunting task but I was hoping they would do it with the 64bit version since they probably won't have a choice anyway.

And what would we all fly and where would we fly to?  That's why they haven't ditched the legacy stuff, I'm sure LM want to (and have in some cases).

Pretty unassuming ... will not be able to test it out until late tonight (too much other stuff to do).

Cheers, Rob.

Lol... Looks are deceiving for sure..... Congrads!

Congrats to your new card Rob, looking forward to hear about your impressions once you got the time to try it out.

Nice! Congrats: I hope all expected joy is rewarded without the gnashing of teeth. I like that no-nonsense packaging, as in "the card speaks for itself". Also am impressed that nvidia packed so much into 10.5" inches. Gcard sizes were getting somewhat out of hand IMO.
