To FSX Users on the Fence................FS98

I heard the trees in FS98 are all HD? Can you confirm?

Yes, they are and they provide a 50% boost in your FPS compared to any 4096 textured trees.

I don't understand the why people are not breaking the cosmic rule that states you must use FS98.

I bet that there are lots of sneaky non-FS98 sim users out there where honesty and integrity means very little to them.  It's just that they are so good at being completely transparent that they become virtually undetectable.

ROFL. MODS!!! Lock this thread quickly! They have taken the taboo debates about P3D EULAs and sim comparisons underground using code names and false identities! Its a conspiracy!

P3D?  What's that?  Will it run on my Kaypro using Windows 3.1?  Probably with my setup we would be talking frames/hour.

Not only that; they rustle in the breeze according to wind settings, turn color at the appropriate time depending on their location and whether they are deciduous, flowering plants bloom at the appropriate times, and in California they are all affected by the drought.

Those people are OK because they follow the MYOB rule.

The sim of the future according to some.

If you can update your DX and video card, it can!

Seeing everyone is trying to convince us, like we don't know what we are doing, I offer:

1. FS98 loads super fast. No more waiting around for the program to load!

Maybe not FS98 hahaha... but we should all definitely go back to FS2004

Ummmmmmmm...........no.

To be fair, FS4 was better than FS98.

Does SP3 for FS98 remove the autothrust oscillations in the default Airbus?   :P

Only if you run at 8X or slower. 16X will still cause a problem.

No, I have extensive YouTube videos to prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this is not true. The FPS counter from FRAPS will prove it.

FS98 crashed on my Cyrix 133 Mhz PC! This blows! I'm installing Fly! or FlightUnlimited!

Can you run that on my Atari 800?!???!?   If not, will be bummed out...I'm an Atari guy....and it cost me $980.00 in 1979 to buy it!  Yeah..maybe Flight Unlimited v1.0  I only want the 8bit program though,...but am getting excited over rumors of a 64 bit release!

I read that on AVSIM!

No, it has been tested and shown not to run, mainly because we don't want to read another: "WOW, FS98 IS THE VERY BESTEST SIM EVER", from you. There is one of those in about 6 different forums here at AVSIM.

Now, if FUnlimited does that for you that is great because that means you'll be posting your "WOW" moment in another forum and we won't have to read it!!

Well...Mr. Skorna...I'd rather be known for 'wow' moments, then never-ending moments of sarcasm.

Yes...I'll be known for the wow...and you can stay known for the sarcasm. I'm truly ok with that...truly...

Unfortunately I usually forget to follow the MYOB rule and sometimes even get it confused with the BYOB rule (though I never had this problem with the cosmic rule).  I wonder if those sneaky non-FS98 sim users always get it right.

Pretty obvious that after 10 pages of posts this whole thread is nothing but purposeful sarcasm and humor, Mr Sesquash. Sorry you missed out on that point and now your feelings are hurt!

No, they follow the BYOB rule first because then it makes breaking the MYOB rules easier!!
