May 21, 201511 yr hmmmmmmm...that almost makes it worth buying another GTX 770… Thanks Rob I'll be looking forward to corroboration from here… And decide. regards, Chas My first sim flight simulator Take a ride to Stinking Creek! http://youtu.be/YP3fxFqkBXg Win10 Pro, GeForce GTX 1080TI/Rizen5 5600x OCd,32 GB RAM,3x1920 x 1080, 60Hz , 27" Dell TouchScreen,TM HOTAS Warthog,TrackIR5,Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals HP reverbG2,Quest2
May 21, 201511 yr Rob, I'm seeing a similar improvement with similar settings with my 2 980gtx setup. Pretty even gpu load 50/50% according to msi afterburner. Very happy. Only two issues, one is the lightning effect is corrupted (although I've read elsewhere that you don't experience that?). The other is after coming back out of in game menus sli mode is dropped - two quick 'alt-enters' solves that. In fact folk experiencing poor sli performance may want to give that a try as when it happens performance is worse (halved?) compared to non-sli operation. Just to note that this was a totally fresh install of W8.1 + drivers + p3d and no cfg file tweaks or NI/NCP tweaks. 4790k @ 4.8 2 x 980gtx Win8.1x64 4K @ 30hz
May 21, 201511 yr Rob, the average has increased with the SLI, but it seems more homogeneous without SLI.

May 21, 201511 yr Solution for the rich guys only..... I struggled to buy my 650 Ti 1GB card... just imagine what it would be to buy two 780.... May 21, 201511 yr Rob, you had written: "LM have been working with nVidia to make SLI work ... it's a back and forth dialog. Beau has made adjustments to code in order to meet nVidia's needs to make SLi a reality at the driver level. This dialog has been going on for a long time, but we should finally see the results soon."Cheers, Rob. Where is the fix of LM for adjustement of code?
May 21, 201511 yr I used EVGA Precision X16 to monitor GPU's and usage to make sure both were being loaded (at normal clocks loads were between 70-90% on both GPUs). Thanks for sharing Rob! Have you tried enabling SGSS yet to see how that's handled in SLI?
May 21, 201511 yr Thanks Rob for the test and for sharing your vid on youtube. Gonna try SLI with my 980s tomorrow. Greetz MJ My youtube blog________________________Prepar3D v2.5/v3
May 21, 201511 yr Rob, I am actually more interested in how your sim doesn't melt down with all those settings blasting away on your VAS. XD Is that just your test settings or that how you fly? Surely those heavy settings is giving to troubles in major aircraft like PMDG? On the topic here; guess I'll get that second GTX 980 ordered. May 21, 201511 yr @Rob: Can I ask (or can you link me to a place) what you were able to "change" with SLI from your normal Titan X config? i.e. what were you able to ratchet up? Perhaps you have a link to your normal Titan X settings and I'll poke around on my own? Cheers P.S. I'm also having the very odd lighting flashes some are seeing at times
May 21, 201511 yr I might be missing something here. Has there been an update released for SLI or are we still awaiting it in the next few weeks? Just seems like a lot of sli chatter in the past 24hours but I can't find any update on the p3d official forum Tom Tom Why not read some useful tips and tricks - http://forum.avsim.n...22#entry1965722

May 21, 201511 yr P3d 2.5 is the version that Rob used to test SLI. The only thing new is the P3d profile in the the most recent nVidia display driver 352.86. Given that P3D is still fairly CPU intensive, the improvement in frame rates is substantial. Is it worth the extra money though? 33% scaling is a bit low for doubling the cost of your GPUs. 60 to 70% scaling is typical for most recent 3D apps: http://www.ocaholic.ch/modules/smartsection/item.php?page=20&itemid=1523
