June 20, 201510 yr To be fair the forum for GEX is not closed. Its unlocked and open for all to see. You need not even register to see the message board. You don't even need to sign your full name if you ask for support. Do they delete posts? Yes but so does PMDG, ORBX and quite a few other support boards. With ORBX you do need to register and to get support you need a serial number and if I remember correctly JV will delete any thread on any other product that is not ORBX; even if its not a competing product. Reading some threads here JV seemed to have banned quite a few people from their boards; even paying customers. That is why I do not support ORBX. Did they deserve the ban; I don't know, but if I buy a product I would expect support no matter what is said within reason or else refund my money. Here is a post right here on AVSIM of some very respected members of the community being banned by ORBX. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/360346-my-first-forum-%E2%80%9Cbanned%E2%80%9D-orbx/ **This is a 2012 post so I'm not sure if those member have been reinstated or not.** I'm not trying to turn this into yours versus mine but their are multiple sides. Was NickN and JR wrong in their reaction; that's not for me to judge as I've said some harsh things when I should have kept my mouth shut. Most all developers these days really need a lesson in customer service. If some of these developers ran a brick and mortar store and talked to customers in the fashion they do they would be out of business in a month if not less. But on the flip side I doubt any of us would talk to a store owner to their face like we do on this board. The internet if faceless and we forget what being polite means. Could you imagine PMDG having a store where they won't help you unless fill out a name tag with your full name written on it. Just laughing thinking about that. Vote with your wallets. Mine votes against ORBX but that's my opinion and really does not matter to the other 100k members on this site; just as some people against Flight1 is not going to stop me buying products from them. As stated earlier I have bought GE for P3D and do use it now on my simulator. I also own FTX Global but no longer use the product. Sean Green
June 20, 201510 yr Sean, your usage falls under the P3D Academic license, right? If not so, you should have bought GSX Professional. Could you please disclose the price scheme in this case as I am unable to find it? June 20, 201510 yr But on the flip side I doubt any of us would talk to a store owner to their face like we do on this board hmmm I don't read anything here that is so vile that it cant be repeated. I'm just reading about astonishment and surprise , but certainly nothing that wouldn't be said face to face ZORAN

Could you please disclose the price scheme in this case as I am unable to find it? Thank you very much, Michael You should be able to just go to the Flight1 website and purchase the one listed. That's what I purchased. But please double check in the forums with Flight1 to verify. I don't think the installer checks the version of P3D you are using. hmmm I don't read anything here that is so vile that it cant be repeated. I'm just reading about astonishment and surprise , but certainly nothing that wouldn't be said face to face You might be correct but maybe I'm just one not to say some things to a persons face that I see written on these boards. Now my better half that's another story. Sean Green

June 20, 201510 yr Yup thats an issue I am not crazy about if they can do something about that it would be great - I have posted on this in simforums but they say it is what it is - drives me crazy so its collecting dust now Yes, this is the reason I requested a refund for UTX. I couldn't get past the light pop in. Otherwise, it is a fantastic product.
June 20, 201510 yr Yes, this is the reason I requested a refund for UTX. I couldn't get past the light pop in. Otherwise, it is a fantastic product. Could have sworn that I had it decent at one time but ot sure how after reinstalling it couldn't find that sweet spot again - but Nick and Allen were very helpful - Nick has a nice post on how to setup things in UTX menu settings - made it even better Also this was only at altitude slightly above its awesome - stretched way out Rich Sennett
June 20, 201510 yr You might be correct but maybe I'm just one not to say some things to a persons face that I see written on these boards. Hmm, not sure what your getting at, but can assure you nothing scathing was said on Simforums. Quite the contrary, it was more a question and a requested response to Jim Rhoads. If I do continue to buy F1 products, I will just make sure it does not have his name on it. He would be the first developer in fs history who has posted such a comment publicly in a well known developer forum, and he made it abundantly clear what he thinks of Avsim members and "Entertainment Customers" who use P3D. June 21, 201510 yr Hi, Although the night lighting in UTX 2.1 is very nice, the draw distance is just to short in P3D2.5, Would be nice if we had the option of removing all rearward textures (behind the aircraft) and use the additional resources to extend the front views 3D draw distance. As of tonight I do not use any 3rd party street night lighting, UTX 2.1 draw distance is to short and Night Environment causes texture load momentary pauses. June 21, 201510 yr Would be nice if we had the option of removing all rearward textures (behind the aircraft) and use the additional resources to extend the front views 3D draw distance. Dropping the rearward textures would be realistic since in real life we don't just, look back as we do in the sim with a "unrealistic,,,albeit beautiful" outside view. If the outside model, except for that which is regularly visible from the real-view cockpit, were discarded from the model, we would also gain some VAS This could add realism while liberating some dearly needed RAM, and with the addition of dropping passing textures, the forward views could be extended, by deletion of non-real rear-views, to reflect, again but now by forward-addition, the real life view. Could always be made an optimizer type of option in the menus I have been flying PMDG 777 without a visible exterior model for a couple of months now and am quite content with the added headroom when coming in to KJFK by FSDT. true, i can still get the occasional OOM, but not as often, and with the dropping of rearward-textures, maybe I would always achieve complete flights/ There are no outside or pass-by views in the big expensive sims I bet ya they are serious flight sims, none of this extra candy to boost sales just to make it look dreamy or showy.
June 21, 201510 yr Been putting up with all the ups and downs of simming , but The day external views are removed would be the last straw for me. THE ONLY PROBLEM THAT NEEDS FIXING IN THE SIM IS VAS, everything else is a matter of sliders.
June 21, 201510 yr THE ONLY PROBLEM THAT NEEDS FIXING IN THE SIM IS VAS, everything else is a matter of sliders. and i was suggesting a slider/button option for outside views, and rearward textures, not unrecoverable removal. I would use it if i were planning a trip over a large city and/or a complex airport.
June 21, 201510 yr Hi, How about an automated feature within P3D that would only load/show textures when looking in that particular direction. 8-) Former Beta Tester - (for a few companies) - As well as provide Regional Voice Set Recordings Two: AMD-9950X | One: AMD-7950X3D | Three: Asus TUF 4090s | Three: 64GB DDR5 RAM 6000mhz | Three: Cosair 1300 P/S | Three: 990Pro 2TB NVME One: Eugenius ECS2512 - 2.5 GHz Switch | Three: Ice Giant Elite CPU Coolers | Three: 75" 4K UHDTVs | One: Boeing 737NG Flight Deck
