Open LC North America, Akaska and Canada released

Featured Replies

Excellent screen shots. Open LC Alaska/Canada, coupled with Vector, makes this, a 'no contest win' over UTX. To coin a phrase from the incomparable MC Hammer, "Can't Touch This!" :P

I am downloading it now, and am a little excited to try it out in P3Dv2.5.

Sounds very true after looking at the screenshots of the both. Alas, will be waiting for FTX LC USA.

Dirk.

While many of us yanks probably don't care much about this release, maybe it'll at least improve the visuals on Atlantic crossings (Gander, Newfoundland, etc.)...

Its only $15 USD, no brainer.  Atlantic crossings for sure and if you really want an amazing flight try a UPS freighter in the PMDG777 (or 47, MD11) from PANC to KONT.  One of the most beautiful flights down the coast with a wickedly challenging STAR on arrival at Ontario (Ziggy 5).

Well, for me this was the scenery I was waiting for for many years, and ORBX really delivered. I did a flight from CYUL to CYYC in P3D 2.5 and it simply looks fantastic. Finally the prairies look like they are supposed to. The same holds true for Atlantic Canada. Great job, thanks a lot for this gem.

Is there a good payware CYYC available? I recall a developer did YYC but requires you to buy another scenery making the package very expensive.

Found this freeware one posted over on the Orbx forum...

I guess this is what you were thinking about for the payware.  Pretty steep if you want it for both FSX and P3D.

Tough to fly in and out of an airport that has default buildings, the great free and pay scenery has spoiled me. Thank you for the link guess I have to make due. Cannot afford the simaddon packages, there are 4 airports I'd like but it's all expensive. yyc, yeg, yxs, ywg and then you have to add more on because of the required base pack. And for p3d you need the full packages you cannot buy separately. If I ever move over to p3d I'd have to buy the package on top of the fsx.

I was very surprised to see Yellowknife updated and with people flow. Wonder what other airports they updated for this package.

If I have UTX USA v2 but want this for Canada and Alaska, do I install normally or would I need to do something special? I don't want to override the UTX for the continental USA. This land class stuff has always confused me for some reason. I Also use FTX Global.

I installed the LC_ yet I cannot see any entry in my scenery library for it

Where should it be? up top (1,2,3...) or near the middle or bottom?

There is no entry in my "Programs and Features" list where you go to uninstall things

Moncton NB (CYQM) looks poor

Is this it? > \Prepar3D v2\ORBX\FTX_OLC\OLC_NA2

Anyone found any updated airports yet? Yellowknife is updated with people flow and objects and wondered if any other airports were?

I think there is an NA1 as well.  There is no uninstall and the entry should be just above the Global and Vector entries in the cfg.  You need to run the ORBX central and select the region or hybrid or else it will give you random tiles...which is what happened to me.
