September 13, 201510 yr That was one of my main problems, very slow release of new goodies to the paid up user. They have the new toys and they work because they show screenshots but they want to wait for the big package for release. Common M, give the guy that paid something to play with. Which part of "I have the product and it is almost feature complete at this early alpha stage, with further improvement at no extra cost to me (and I got a discount for buying early) so that I can and do fly it all the time with great enjoyment" do you not understand? I don't care how long they take to finish it since flying it in its current state is thoroughly enjoyable. Just now flying it from KRDD to KHQM. I really don't understand this bashing by people that don't have it. You don't want something that isn't fully finished? Fine, don't buy it. I did want it, and bought an alpha product at a discount and use it all the time and it works as well or better than pretty much every other plane in my hangar except A2A and perhaps RA. I guess you could always just buy a Carenado plane, which is finished, and never will be improved, and get something for almost the same money that in no way realistically represents either flight dynamics or systems depth of the plane modeled. To each his own, I suppose.
September 13, 201510 yr KenG, oddly enough, the Carenado C90 seems to model the relationship between prop lever and power lever better than the default. Not sure what happened there. I worked with a developer in the past to try and model the King Airs props a little more true to life. They were the FDE expert and I was the King Air prop SME. It took months of work but eventually they produced a passable product. The area completely devoid in MSFS is the point the propellers settle onto the LPS and produce drag as opposed to thrust. IIRC the developer created a gauge that would increase drag through spoilers to fake this aspect of the airplane. It was not perfect but it was better then the current solutions of the day. Bottom line is it can be done. I have the Carenado B200 and B190. I passed on the F90. There are some problems with the Carenado birds which have entire threads devoted to their bugs. Given the choice between the Carenado B200 and the Flight 1 B200 I would recommend the Flight 1 aircraft. The big thing people need to remind themselves is the Flight 1 bird represents an EPIC modified B200 with Blackhawk PT6A-52 engines. This is not your standard King Air by any imagination. Those Raisbeck Swept Blade Turbofan Propellers (SBTP) produce more thrust then the Hartzell 3 bladed or 4 bladed props attached to a non-modified King Air and the Blackhawk engines can keep 850 SHP to the propellers well into the Flight Levels. Trying to compare performance between the two is like trying to say a Shelby American Super Snake and a Mustang GT are the same car. The Carenado B200 is much more like flying an old out of breath B200 (believe me I have lots of time in a 1973 King Air 200 so I know what an old King Air flies like) as opposed to the Flight 1 B200 which is darn near a B300 when it comes to performance. (I also have time in a 1996 B300.) These airplanes might both be B200s but the commonality stops there. Meanwhile a flight deck photo from my company's FFS Level D sim.

September 13, 201510 yr That is a tough choice, indeed. But, I'd go with MilViz, personally. I own a few of their airplanes, including the B-350i and I am not disappointed.
September 13, 201510 yr Commercial Member The bug that KenG is experiencing is not being looked at yet as we're not yet even in beta and, we are unable to reproduce it ourselves. It is, sadly, a low priority item (for us). We will get to it at some point. The whole engine/prop regime is missing as it's not yet implemented. Icing is not done. Passengers and weight is not done. Menu systems are not done. WAAS we're not yet sure as we have very little info on how exactly it works and we may therefore not do it. We shall see. The FMS/PL-21 setup is something we're looking at very closely right now for a variety of reasons. Not least of which is RNAV, LNAV and VNAV (and the whole AP) system not functioning properly. We may decide to redo it as we're not overly happy with what we have at this time. Colin. Please contact oisin at milviz dot com for forum registration information. September 14, 201510 yr Well, you have a lot of responses about the Milviz from people who don't have the Milviz. So, take that for what it's worth. A big +1 on that. Why are you (OP) focused on a King Air? Of those in FSX or later that I have purchased and flown the Carenado C90B is clearly the best. But if if it is a top-drawer Beech twin you are after then the answer you are looking for is a first cousin, the RealAir Turbine Duke v2. If that has too much power and performance for you to handle then the next best Beech twin I have purchased and flown is the MilViz Baron B55. I flew the military version of that variant and of the handful of aircraft I flew in real life it is the model that best reproduces itself in flight simulation. September 14, 201510 yr I'm spoiled with weather radar integrated in so many great commercial airliners, it would be nice if some of these business jets and general aviation had weather radar too.
September 14, 201510 yr Commercial Member Some do have weather radar but was told that the 350i will not. You can also put Roland's weather radar gauge in your panel if you have a glass screen you not using such as the second GTN 750 in the Duke or almost any other glass screen. September 14, 201510 yr Some do have weather radar but was told that the 350i will not. Do you mean the Milviz B350i? if so, I don't recall hearing that. I don't much care anymore either way. The lack of communication and extended delay make it a non-starter for me.
September 15, 201510 yr Meanwhile a flight deck photo from my company's FFS Level D sim. Quick question, what FMS do you guys use? In the Army, the C-12V uses the ProLine 21 with the FMS 3000 and that is the system I am used to and comfortable with. I was excited about a ProLine 21 KA until I saw what FMS they are using. I was excited about a ProLine 21 KA until I saw what FMS they are using. Rockwell Collins FMS3000 is the defacto standard for an off the shelf Pro Line 21 equipped King Air. Mostly because the FMS 3000 was designed to integrate with the Pro Line 21 avionics. Single FMS is standard and dual is an option. As such that is the system we have. There is an option for other Flight Management Systems and it is my understanding these are installed post production. The next big Avionics suite for the King Air is the Pro Line Fusion which will sort of do away with the separate FMS and integrate the technology directly into three wide screen (14") touch screen displays. This is Rockwell Collins answer to the Garmin G3000 system and they have spent allot of time working with Beechcraft to integrate this system into the King Air seamlessly. I don't know when we will get our first Fusion simulator but I am sure that will be based on customer need for training. Reread Collin's post above (#21) last paragraph. I cannot comment other then what he has stated directly, but wait and see what the future brings.

He was in the east coast flying them. Regards. Ed
September 15, 201510 yr Milviz collected money from folks 1.5 years ago and it's only in Alpha. That's outrageous. I would think twice before buying anything from them that's not ready to go. The flight one king air is the one to buy. I have it and it's a great simulation. Maybe Milviz will be better and maybe some day pigs will fly. "Why, he just jumped into the air and kept right on going."
