I guess, some people always have something to complain about...

Looking through your posts, you also seem to do a fair share of "complaining", oh this isn't working, why isn't this a solid overcast, this is too dark etc.

Or should we call that criticism, opinions and feedback instead, to be respectful of what each individual expect from a package they paid money for? Sweeping aside what people have to say, with an inane statement like that, is unnecessary.

There's a fine line between voicing an opinion, beit a YAY! or a NAY! and having an agenda and repeating the SAME observation over and over. Some, in this thread are quite guilty of the latter. Fortunately, IMHO, the Avsim users can spot a shill fairly quickly and tend to ignore the posts .

It's like stutters, some users see stutters in every video because they are tuned to that and it particularly irks them. Same with duplicate clouds, they ALL have them, depending on the sets selected, some more than others. If that bothers you, it will annoy you no end when you see a screenshot or a video.

That's why we have a lot of different developers -  one way or another we will have something for everybody.

I'm sure Carlo didn't mean anything bad with his comment and I'm equally sure most people in here would agree most of us can always find something to complain about or something that bothers us.

Probably that is because we flightsim enthusiasts always strive for the well known 'As real as it gets' saying where something always will be in our path to prevent us from achieving that 100%

Adding feedback and observations is having an agenda? I could turn that exact same statement around and say someone seems so overly defensive, have to butt in constantly and defend HiFi and the product, that they must also also have an agenda. It seems like certain people just don't want to hear anything negative about a product, because every single thing mentioned isn't really discussed but quickly brushed aside with a nice little statement of how they like the product, everything is fine, please don't complain, find another product. It's a weird trend, like this deep insecurity. When you try to be positive, that's also just shot down with some inane comment.

What I described above is shill-like behaviour. Being opposed a product doesn't fall under the umbrella of a "shill".

Well, let me put it this way..

I loved ASN from the day it was released and after a few flights I was entering the info of my creditcard for AS16.  Perhaps I got used to a certain level of quality from Hifi... But ASCA doesn't live up to my expectation how it looks at this moment.

Sometimes it's wise to lock a topic, because everything is said and becomes the same old

arguments which most of us just skips when looking at the user names.

I love both products. My sim does perform better with them. I love the graphics. I guess if i stared at the clouds the whole time I would find something. I am too busy flying and enjoying it. I love the overcast and the haze. No complaints here.

I do understand what you mean and fact is I despise forums where you can't say anything negative about a certain product before you have a full hord of ###### jumping up and down on your head.

However in this case I don't think it's fair to say that is the situation. Looking at this thread lots of views and opinions have been expressed both positive and negative and as stated several times by now I'm sure the developers are actually very happy about all the feedback since that will help them to further develop the products where all of us will be winners in the end.

I've been within this community for quite some time and I can assure you there are some developers out there that can't take constructive criticism but HiFi certainly isn't one of them. For as long as I can remember they always provided all of us with very good products that made our hobby into an even more fun and realistic one and they always do their very best to make sure you'll be happy with their products.

This is why I'm proud being part of the HiFi test team.

This certainly isn't a case against HiFi, not at all. I respect them immensely and their products. I know full-well that what is being posted here, good and bad, they will most likely see and take in as valid feedback. What I will question as being fair and also point out as being peculiar, is someone with the title of moderator, comes in and starts throwing around words like "shill", not even knowing what the word means apparently and talks about ignoring posts, simply because they aren't praise and roses? Same individual has done nothing but defend, shoot down and brush aside ANY critical post, whilst also being a beta tester for said product? If we need to talk about shill-like behaviour ... But I know that's not true, because that's not something you should accuse people of or even bring up in conversation, because I'd call that pretty serious.

I know the posts are aimed at people like me, among others, because I have been very vocal about ASCA's flaws. I'm certainly not alone. Despite posting actual pictures, pointing out the problem, trying to describe my issue with the product, heck I even bought the damn product and gave it praise just today! But again, this seems frowned up by these certain individuals who seem overly invested in said product. They feel the way forward in improving and molding a product, is by blowing smoke up a developer's bottom and defend them. Another individual, who's also done nothing but defend and blow smoke, is even stating he's ignoring posts by these members, purely because they said something he didn't like.

Alas, this probably won't lead anywhere pleasant. I'll keep any feedback to myself, as people just seem to get hurt when you bring anything but praise to the table. I wouldn't buy a product or spend time talking / posting about it, if I didn't care.

But thank you WebMaximus, for being courteous and respectful.

It is difficult around here is being a volunteer moderator with comments like this.  Whatever a moderator does to communicate something they like or dislike, members get upset depending on which way they agree or disagree with a moderator.  Please keep your rude comments about any of our moderators to yourself.

And implying people are "shills" is normal, respectable behaviour? Alright, message received, loud and clear.

Here is my problem with ASCA.... Duplicated clouds....

dwv31v.png

No worse then the duplicate ground textures that are all over the place unless you use photoreal ground textures.

When ther sim has a limited amount of textures to choose from, be it ground or clouds, it's inevitable to see duplicates and they won't really be noticible unless you spend a lot of time looking for them.

AVSim needs a new subforum for Microsoft Cloud Simulator. Coincidentally, I just read that Microsoft makes most of its money from its cloud services.

And implying people are "shills" is normal, respectable behaviour? Alright, message received, loud and clear.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Sethos was not the first person to use the word "shill" Jim. I suggest that you re-read this thread.
